Today I met Anneke working at the salon. She was a GEM and made my whole day. I normally spray tan, but I'm doing some regular tanning for a base before my wedding in Mexico. I haven't tanned in a bed in YEARS and she was able to guide me to pick the right bed and advise me on how long I should go in. She is the number one reason I will be back to this salon. Only went to this location because they were open later than the other ones. Now they changed their hours to close when the others do, which is fine... but they said it would start August 1st and i drove all the way there and they were closed. I have had multiple other issues with this location but i think this is the final straw. They just aren't convenient. And by the way, not the cleanest place either. I've had an airbrush spray tan done here, and a regular spray machine. I do think the machine costs are a bit high, but it's a nice location. And the employees are SO friendly and helpful. They do run some good deals and have daily specials. It's most pricey if you just come in for a one-time machine spray. read more

I went to this LA Tan and I was really disappointed. I am a huge LA tan fan and this one was on my way to work. I was super sad to see that the facilities are really run down and the customer service was horrible. The worst I've ever seen. The girl at the front with short blonde hair was obviously high and smelled like weed, it seemed like I woke her up when I opened the front door. I come here all the time and usually have no issues. Last night, on 6/18 the girl working the front desk refused to let me tan stating that they don't take tans after 9:40 p.m. when it was 9:41 p.m. There was no one else waiting and with my 8 minute tan, I would've still been out with time to spare by the listed 10 o'clock closing time. I could understand if there was a long line that would put me way past 10 p.m. but that was not the case. Also, the 9:40 last tan should be listed on the website and on the door, how else would anyone know? read more

Ever since moving to Rogers Park...I've been a tanning salon hopper...I have not been able to find a salon that has all the basic needs; cleanliness, approachable staff, parking, reasonable prices, etc.. But this one BEATS THEM ALL! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted immediately by the super sweet lady named Layluh (I'm probably spelling her name wrong). I told her I was newer to the area, and have not been satisfied by any of the tanning salons near me; either due to the outrageous prices, unfriendly staff, dirty rooms, horrible parking (I've tried Suntanz, Tancun, Xotic Tanning, and a Better Tan). She was extremely helpful, coming around the corner to talk to me about the price breakdown, the do's and dont's, etc. Every question I had, she answered precisely. Listen to this; she convinced me of getting my first spray tan... (and being a little skeptical)... I only paid $32... for A level 4 lay down (for 15 minutes), a light spray tan, make-up remover wipes, winkies, and a package of body lotion. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That's such an amazing deal! I literally just paid $30.00 for ONE tan last week... They have the best pricing in the area! (The packaging prices are definitely worth it) Laylah walked me back into the room, and explained everything to me and the told me to come up to the front when I was ready, so she can go through the spray tanning process with me. I am currently really tan after the level 4! Warning: the bed gets really warm, but its worth it afterwards. After finishing with the lay down, I went to the front, and Laylah had Bob (her trainee) and the other woman (really pretty eyes- forgot her name), walk me back into the spray tan room, so they could thoroughly explain the process. Bob was great- he definitely knew what he was talking about, and the pretty eye girl was really helpful too. This is seriously the best tanning shop I've been to, since I've move to Rogers Park, and I definitely will be a returning loyal customer! Oh, and they have private parking lot too- thank the lord! I cancelled my membership in May and went in to sign a form and cancel in person. I am still getting charged $24.99 a month and anytime I call they take my number and say a manager will return my call and fix this. I need to be reimbursed asap and this needs to end. No phone call and I end up having to call them again and going through the same thing. I don't see how difficult it is to stop a membership (why was it not?) and return my money. Awful! This is literally the worst place I've ever tanned. Either the employees don't know how to turn on a tanning bed or the beds are shoddy because for the 4th time going in my level 4 the timer wasn't set! Every time I have to call up to the front desk to get them to set the time. Cleanliness is sub par I've gotten in beds with lotion smears on the top part of the bed still. You find ants in the rooms even in winter. Several employees haven't had any idea about the promotions introduced to me by the guy who works there who I assume is the owner. He's great but everyone else has no idea what's going on! And the employees are rude too I always say bye and thanks when I leave and have never even gotten a response. I will keep going just because this place is so close to where I live but don't go out of your way to tan here. read more

So I came into L.A. Tan for the first time in years, and I must say, they have really stepped up their game. The female that was working this morning was super sweet and was extremely helpful when deciding on how many tans I should purchase. I received a text about $12 spray tans throughout the weekend. I went in on a Sunday to get one and then decide if I wanted to purchase a package. As I tried to explain to the girl behind the counter that I have been to a few places before and wanted to see if I liked the results, but before I could finish she interrupted me with "It ends today and our beds are the best, everyone comes here." Umm..well..my money, my decision. She told me there were specific instructions, which there were but no net for my hair. Also, the finishing lotion was empty but I was supposed to know that the bottle of lotion on the shelf was what I was SUPPOSED to use. I came out to ask and she seemed truly bothered but came back to explain. As I left, I asked if she was going to be there later so I can wait a few hours for the results and decide if I can come back to purchase more. I also said it looks like I can already see results. She never looked away from the computer and was truly not interested unless I was gonna buy something. She could have taken a minute to explain things in the beginning and not made me feel like a loser because I did not want to spend $80 on something I was unsure of. Way to make your customers feel like crud. The only pros were that it was wicked clean and I was in and out quickly. Even the spray tan was just, meh. After coming back a couple times my opinion on this location has changed. There's a girl here, early 20s blonde hair who is always nice and makes honest suggestions on which bed is good for me. I was going to Mexico and she recommended the 3.5 level bed but it was currently out of order. However she directed me to the level 4 explaining its just as good. I reached the level of tan I was trying to accomplish before leaving and I really appreciated her help! Since I've been coming here, I've only seen a few of the younger girls that "hated their job" so maybe they have moved on making the customer service her superb! Thanks for getting me wedding ready in no time! I recently moved to the area with my fiancé and had been to other LA Tan's so I figured I'd give this location a shot needing to get tan ASAP for my wedding. The girls here are always sweet and friendly and told me exactly what I needed to use product wise and tanning bed wise. They recommended that I get an airbrush which I was at first skeptical about, but it was absolutely perfect and lasted me on my honeymoon as well. I had never been to a salon that offered personal airbrushing but it's just $25 on Thursdays. Highly recommend it. Couldn't be happier! read more

Recently, it has been for help with getting my pre-baby color back as well as preparing for an upcoming wedding. Every employee I have dealt with has been so kind and helpful. I was lucky enough to squeeze in last minute for a spraytan and talked to Katie about my options. She was so very helpful and patient with me having a ton of questions.
