Great views from this rooftop restaurant! We had dinner for our work meeting here so we were in one section of the restaurant. They had a custom pasta station where you could choose your pasta (penne or spaghetti), sauce (marinara or pesto) and various add one - veggies, garlic, cheese. There was also some salad and pulled pork and bbq chicken. Later we went and hung out on the roof deck itself standing around one of the round tables. It was great weather warm. I think LA Jackson is one of Nashville's most overrated rooftops. The tree lit up in the middle of the roof is cool, and you do get a nice view of the city. But the good vibes basically stop there. I always see a line winding down the street with people waiting to enter. Then once you're in, you have to wait at the crowded bar for what seems like an eternity to get some average but overpriced cocktails. You will most likely have to stand unless you stalk a seating area and sit down right as someone is leaving. I just don't really understand the hype and why people wait in line when there are so many other options around town. read more

Came here for a reunion with some friends and a birthday celebration. Overall I have to say the time spent all together on the rooftop was memorable! However, the service and experience could have been slightly better. For starters, it would have been nice to acknowledge the birthday girl - whether that be a small cake or some kind of drink or meal. It shows the intention of the restaurant and how LA Jackson would valuable their own customers. Second, one of us found hair in our food. And although that happens in general - it's unfortunate that it was a part of our first experience here (to find something disturbing in our food). Lastly - service took awhile. Not sure if it was the kitchen being backed up but it took some time to get the food. That said, the ambiance and general environment was nice. Just slight reservations in some areas. read more

At night this place becomes a very trendy club like atmosphere and it's definitely the place to be. However, The bartenders and security here are exceptionally rude and unpleasant. The bartenders will roll their eyes when you order a drink and make a big stink about doing their job. Certainly a vibe killer. Security is on a mega power trip and such small man energy. Ahhhh I hate leaving less than average reviews but that's just what this place called for... we had a party of 8 on June 16th, 2024 and the total bill was $370 with 6/8 girls getting 1 drink each.. the pricing isn't so bad if the food is delicious. BUT the food.... the "glitter chicken" was quite literally just Tyson frozen chicken tenders with frozen fries cooked and topped with purple edible glitter... the girls did say that the overhang burger was "okay" and the mac and cheese was good! The venison poppers are not at all what traditional poppers are like, although not bad, just different. The best part of the meal was probably the pizza hand pies. We also had a girl who was allergic to tree nuts which we noted prior to ordering and they failed to mention the appetizer (2 which were shared among the table) contained peanuts. We had to ask and by the time they came over everyone had already finished the appetizers and the girl just didn't have any (just in case, and thank goodness she didn't). So yeah... the drinks look pretty... but the food has unnecessary garnishes (flowers and glitter) and tastes very average (if not below average). Would not return here again unless coming for an outdoor patio rooftop drink (for the views), never for food. The service for a Sunday morning was friendly... although not fantastic... when they came out they didn't hand the plates to the right person, not a single time. They also hardly checked on the table which just makes it difficult to be happy to pay the $20 gratuity fee. read more

Just FYI, LA Jackson is the rooftop bar located at The Thompson Hotel. It is bit hard to find if you are not familiar with the area. There is a parking garage right across the street so very convenient. Also, there are plenty of other cool spots to hit in the area. I would absolutely love to give y'all a perfect 5/5 but no can do on account of the fact you do not serve the basics like a Pinot Grigio. I was expecting a wider array of wines to choose from in this higher end bar. I hope one day you will consider adding a Pinot Grigio (Terlato, Maso Canali) or an Albarino. read more

When I was planning my trip to Nashville, L.A. Jackson was at the top of the recommendation list...so we made our way Thursday night. The guy checking IDs at the front was really friendly, great experience with him. The bartenders were all quick to serve and did it with a smile on their face, we greatly appreciated the service all around! I had the There's No Ex in Espresso - super yummy! Perfect ration between espresso and alcohol. It was realllyyyyy strong. My bestie had their frosè and she had a similar opinion - drink was good, dredging but strong. Lol drinks are well worth your money here. The issue we had was the music. It was like tropical night or something? It was giving Tulum vibes but without the good beats. Lol it wasn't dancing music. Honestly reminded me of like forest sounds. Lol not to mention the DJ took forever to switch it up. The reviews I read said they play hip hop music and we were hoping to have a good night away from Broadway but that just wasn't the case. We ordered Bloody Marys, because why not? These were super tasty and adorned with fresh garnishes. The fries and flatbread get a solid 4-star rating. Furniture didn't feel the cleanest, but outdoor patio furniture often isn't, and it had just rained. I would go out of my way to come back to L.A. There is a variety of parking options which are parking garages, private lots or street street parking. Valet is there but I'm assuming is for the hotel guests. To get to the LA Jackson: Rooftop Bar and Restaurant you'll enter through the Thompson Nashville Hotel's lobby then to elevator (right of the lobby). The vibe, view and drinks were great, haven't gotten no food from them yet but will return. You can order at the bar or tabletop. It's a menu less restaurant as well, QR CODE is on their tabletops. I was happy with the beer selection and the Homestyle by Beared Iris Brewing was one of the best beers I had in Nashville in total. Three people ordered Mansplain drinks and one of them was served in a glass with a small clothes pin label of "in a 'man' glass" attached to it. One of the best rooftops in Nashville, hands down. It's on the top floor of The Thompson Hotel, which is another one of my favorite places to stay in town. Great views, great drinks and all around a great spot to be when you're in town (or even if you live there). Our server was great - I could've used two more rounds of him coming by our table - we had 6 people and needed one more drink at the end of our night. But overall very good considering how busy it was and how the servers had to cover inside tables as well as the actual rooftop (outside). I have visited L.A. My friend wanted to check out a rooftop bar, so we made our way here. It's located inside the Thompson Hotel into this gorgeous rooftop. Upon entering, you walk into a beautiful bar that is a centerpiece in this place. When you head out to the patio, there's a perfect view of downtown Nashville. It's nice to see the view from afar when you're not in the middle of the downtown rooftop bars. For drinks, they have a few creative and fancy cocktails. I had the Time of Opportunity ($13), consisting of Tokyo Japanese whiskey, Pimms, cherry, lemon, pineapple, and absinthe. The drinks are pretty and so is the view. Such a vibe! The rooftop at night is such a beautiful scenic view of Downtown Nashville, it was bit cold while I was there (March) but I totally recommend it nonetheless. The ambiance is just overall classy. The drinks are good! My favorite was the frozé, it was exactly as you would expect. Now for the food - Shrimp toast was good but too oily for my liking. The flavor was on point, but I felt the bread was slightly on the softer side because of the extra oil. Prosciutto grilled cheese was good, nothing to drool over.
