    Kukri Loaded Fries
    Ricardo M.

On Sunday, November 16, about 5 pm with my son and wife, we went to the Green Jeans Food Hall. My son looked ahead of time the hall's website and it listed Amore Pizzeria. When we got to Green Jeans, we were disappointed of the run down of a place. It was already getting dark, and the parking lot was sketchy. The food hall area too dark, dirty tables and greasy floors and restrooms without paper towels and soap in the ladies restroom, commented by my wife. When we got there, we found out that Amore no longer exists there. My son ordered the Kukri Loaded Fries and their chicken California Burrito to share with his mother. The following day, Monday 17th, both of them were sick, more likely from the chicken burrito. On Tuesday, it as my son's 28th birthday, and my wife and I came up from Las Cruces to spend the day with him. Unfortunately due to the food poisoning, both were suffering from diarrhea, headache and upset stomach, spending the day on bed. Commenting to one of our son's neighbor, about the horrible experience in Kukri, she told us that her two sons avoid that place. She said that they already know that Kukri is terrible and people get sick, as they have gone to their other locations in Albuquerque and at The Block in Rio Rancho.

So happy my son recommended this place! We ordered a California Burrito to split and headed to the brewery with our pager to order a beer. The Green Jeans food hall is a great setup; so many great seating options inside, outside, up or down. Service was pretty quick. The burrito was hot and delicious; there was plenty for both of us.

The staff was very helpful letting us taste the sauce and describing our food. We both ordered Kukri chicken sandwich. Really delicious! The chicken tenders were tender crisp with great spice. They were delicious with the cool slaw and tangy sauce. I ordered no pickles and they obliged by giving me a few tomatoes. This sandwich is tall and messy and sooo yummy. I'd ask for a fork next time. Crispy fries that were still soft inside and the tangy sauce was also very good. The mayo base sauce had notes of garlic and horseradish. Nice price too. For 2 people around $36.

The food was delicious and a huge serving! I got the California burrito and was pleased with the taste. I got the medium which was the perfect level of heat for me, not too spicy. I didn't realize it was a food hall and was excited to see the cool set up. There are lots of different restaurants to chose from, a tap room, and even a souvenir shop there! I sat outside and enjoyed the weather and view. You order at the counter and then pick up the food when ready. It took about 15 minutes and I explored the souvenir shop and walked around during that time.

Nasty salty fries and an over rated chicken sandwich! Oh let's not forget over priced!!!!!!

C'mon brotha ! This location isn't representative of the Tikka spice chicken sandwich I once loved ! This is tikka spice fan -111! Let me describe, The bun was cold , the chicken was dry and your spice is not good anymore! Bottom line, two thumbs down, worst 32$ bucks spent on food! By the way CHECK your line cooks they have bad attitudes and check your locations sometimes !! This one looks dirty AH !! WOW !!! Never again!!!! The location at 505 central is a little better but it's gotten worse depending on the cooks! SAD TIKKA !!

3 visits in past month. 1st was SPECTACULAR! 2nd was a 1.25 hr wait for 2 burritos at 1p. Yesterday one burrito had PLASTIC INSIDE OF THE FOOD( nice chix tho). other had small bits of chix & LOTS of fried bits w/o any meat. 2 banana puddings($7 each) bananas were rotten, slightly sour & grey. ugh. defo LUV Kukri's flavors & food but not going back to this location anymore. even difference in management response .... ugh.

Best fries & pickles on the Block! The Block has an ice skating ring and music in the summer. Great addition to Rio Rancho.

So I got a banana pudding and it was SO WATERY. It's completely ruined the taste and texture. ONE STAR. I probably won't get another banana pudding

I don't love chicken, and as such I almost never order it... But damn if this isn't the best chicken sandwich I've ever had I'm back at the Green Jeans location a second day in a row to order it Also great customer service. Highly recommend!

Amazing food!!!! The service is good, but I think they might be understaffed. The ambiance is a tad loud, but it's manageable.

Though I'm not vegan I was very excited at the prospect of having a good meal that is vegan. Unfortunately, we had disappointing experience. Food: so-so... I had the triple patty, lucky burger, my partner had the double lucky double burger minus one patty. We shared the lucky fries. The total was just under $30. My partner eats light, but he did not realize how thin a single burger actually was. He said if he went back, he would definitely have the double patty next time because that's still not equal to one patty in most places. The triple lucky that I had was just messy. I ate it with knife and fork on the paper that covered the tray on which it was served. Between the messiness, the soft bun (not toasted) and having to use a knife & fork to eat it off a piece of paper covering the tray on which all the food was served was not a great eating experience. Finally, the french fries the lucky fries, was just the regular basket of fries with their lucky toppings. The amount of toppings was so light as to be ridiculous given the amount of the up charge. Service: Zero charm, Zero finesse! I, in principle, DO NOT ever leave a gratuity with my order on these iPads where the order is taken totaled and paid for. Simply put, tipping before service makes no sense to me. There were two females working the counter and serving the food. The only pleasant moment in all of it was when the female who took our order also served the table. She put the tray down and was very sweet in her presentation, which was brief. We both could not help thinking it might have been because we had the cash gratuity sitting out on the table. I have no way of knowing if that was it or not, but given the quality of interaction with these two females up to that point... I did address this with them both before we left. I feel like I was gentle, but also to the point. When a female apparently became so upset that she had remove herself and the second female hung in with a lot of bravado, making an absolutely insincere apology... Ending it with "I don't know what else to say". My response to that was "something with a little sincerity would be helpful". Ambience: the lounge area was very inviting, but unfortunately, when we entered into it, the gentleman behind the bar informed us that it was closing for the day. The dining area was more than sufficient comfortable no complaints. Apparently, we've missed the hey-day of the Lucky Goose because based on this experience, I would guess that it is on its way out.

It does get busy during the lunch rush, but the line moves quickly and is well worth the wait. While the banh mi definitely steals the show, there are plenty of other options on the menu. Their banh cuon, thin rice noodles filled with ground pork and wood ear mushrooms, was good, though still second to the sandwiches. I believe we all liked the interior deco and the ambiance of the place. The oak floors are truly beautiful. The lighting is a bit intimate which I prefer to high intensity lighting. The drink menus were alright. My friends loved the martinis and cocktails. I found the beer options to be limited. The one wine I wanted to try was unavailable, but I found another and had 2 glasses. The wines are priced at an acceptable range ($7-10). The food menu is a bit limited, but we all found something to eat. I opted for just an appetizer (artichoke + pita). One lady had their pasole, which I guess was the soup of the day. She thought it too spicy. The three other folks had salads, entrees, and dessert. BTW, they did not have an actual dessert menu but the server listed several options which they found appealing. So, the guy who had the ribeye steak ($54) though it just ok. In fact, he took most of it home. The other two had the elk medallions ($30). They found the portions of elk to be sort of tiny. They thought the potatoes were excellent. They sauce that smothered the elk was pretty spicy, or so I was told. Would we return? Sure. I would give it another try. How was service? Good and a bit slow coming out of the kitchen. How busy?
