I had placed an order for pickup. From the time I ordered to when it was ready was about 30 min, which I thought was good for a Friday night. This location is located in a food hall with other restaurants. There was plenty of seating available and not too loud. I got a 3 piece chicken tender with plain boring fries (that's what they call them!). The fries were very well seasoned. For their chicken they have 5 different levels of spice. I got the 2nd hottest which is Extra Hot. I sniffled the whole time while eating but it was manageable. I love spicy food and have a high tolerance for it. His first choice for me is called KūKri. The food is tremendous. Take their KūKri chicken sandwich. The chicken is moist with the exact breading for a great crunch. The sauce is very spicy even though I went with the recommended medium spice. The slaw was too sweet; what I did was alternate bites between the hot chicken and the slaw. Worked perfectly. Pro Tip: Unless you like it insanely hot, pick one level less than they advise. Their scale of spice is a couple notches hotter than I am used to. The service was quick and flawless. Having had real Nashville hot chicken, I can confidently say that this restaurant comes as close to it as it can get. This restaurant makes their hot chicken, fresh, and it is well seasoned and juicy. You will not leave unsatisfied. I also want to give a shout out to their incredible french fries. I've been a fan of virtually everything Basit Gauba has concocted, from his Indian fusion fries to the smashburgers, and this last visit wasn't my first rodeo. About six months back I made the memorable and painful foray into a chicken sandwich with Insane sauce. The plate included a pair of gloves because, well, the sauce could burn the skin. It absolutely destroyed me but, hey, I finished it, and my inner masochist hung up the whip. This go-round I went the Hot route, much better decision, I could finally taste the slaw, pickles and slightly sweet bun, and I better appreciated the care and quality of the composition. This place represents the Duke City beautifully, and I'm looking forward to the explorations to come. In my estimation this is the best eatery in the food court, although Naruto's always on my radar. The definition of meh. Service was friendly and the food came out at a reasonable pace. The quality of the food was pretty mid however. One-dimensional on the spicing mix in the batter/breading and the so-called hot is anything but (amusing since I was warned about the spice level beforehand--believe me, it ain't very spicy). The oil tastes lingers on the palate and you could smell on the fries--which were decent--that it badly needed changing. The batter itself isn't so much crispy as just hard and tasted (as I've noticed in some other reviews) overcooked, bordering on burnt. It creates a shell around the chicken rather than a bonded crispy coating. The chicken itself was fine but overcooked and pretty dry. The composition of the sandwich is OK but very hard to eat: it pretty much falls apart and turns into a mix of bread, sauce, slaw, breading, and bits of chicken. There are ways to fix this but you have to sit down and really think about eatability and balance. Anyway, it's fine. Not a ripoff but really not that great. So as I said, meh. read more
