I have been to Kyma twice, and both times ordered some appetizers! Delicious! We had ordered zucchini chips, octopus and a salad- very delicious! However, both times visited I went to meet a friend for dinner to catch up and it does get very loud and hard to hear. The service is great, however and everyone is very friendly. No matter how many places open in the area I continue to be drawn back to Kyma with my wife. Not sure if it is the excellent service that starts with a warm smile and handshake from Eduardo who always makes us feel like they were waiting just for us to arrive or the amazing food. We always start with the Kyma Chips, Octopus and the Tomato Salad. The drinks are always spot on and made to perfection. My recommendation is the Pineapple Vodka shaken. I don't think you will find a fresher fish on Long Island unless you jump in a boat and catch it yourself. You cant go wrong with any of the Fish selections. You don't eat Fish or Meat that's Ok, they will make you Lamb. Lamb Chops are a must have. The food is outrageous only to be competed with by the wait staff who always seem to be just out of ear shot but always in your visual should you need anything. This is a nod to the management team that makes the place run like a well oiled (Greek olive oil of course) machine. Expect a follow up visit from Eduardo at some point in your meal to make sure everything is OK. I have wanted to dine at Kyma for a few months and I finally did tonight. This place had it all, beautiful Mediterranean decor, beautiful people, attentive knowledgeable service staff and delicious food. Oh and valet parking. We decided to eat alfresco on the patio and what a perfect night, probably one of the few remaining for the season. We ordered a lovely white wine from Santorini and started with the stuffed calamari and the shrimp saganki. Both delicious. For dinner I had the special grilled pork chops with lemon potato. My husband had the grilled lamb chops with sautéed spinach. We finished our meal with Greek coffee and baklava. Loved Kyma and will be back. read more

I went for lunch here for with a group for lunch. It was a great experience overall! From the valet through every person that interacted with us was very professional and friendly. Not staid, but very warm and welcoming. And of course there is the food. Almost everything was excellent! The only item that was just ok was the fried calamari. The octopus salad was amazing as was the lamb chops and several fish dishes. While pricy, it is a good deal for the area. Looking forward to going back again soon! read more

My family and I visited this restaurant on Easter and it was also the last leg of my birthday tour(lol). We had valet service and when we entered we had to wait maybe 15 mins, mind you we made reservations for 7, once seated our waiter was very informative and suggested some great choices. We ordered the grilled Branzino which was delicious, the lamb chops was mediocre, the grilled octopus was amazing, the crab legs was extremely overpriced for only four small crablegs,overall the service was great and the food was good but way overpriced. So a couple have things have affected my experience since the last time I visited. It was a last min July 4th reservation so to have a restaurant I've been to and trust in terms of quality of food and service have avail for 12 people at an appropriate dinner time was pretty awesome. We were sat in the lounge (indoors next to the bar) and dinner started off well. Only 3 gin and tonics and 1 cocktail were ordered, but they ended up bringing 4 g&t's and 1 cocktail. Whatever, we didn't say anything and let it go. Midway through the meal, the server poured WATER into one of the g&t's by accident and was gracious enough to just get him a new one. When we got the check, we saw we were charged for FIVE g&t's when we only ordered 3 in the first place and already dealt with the extra one, but now we ALSO got charged for the one that they comped because their server was absent minded and poured water into an alcoholic drink??? The appetizers we ordered were hit and miss - zucchini chips were light and perfect, octopus was a bit salty and dry, calamari was good but it just came with regular marinara and pesto sauces, mussels and broth were flavorful, and crab cake was alright. Now with the calamari, I asked what the green sauce was since we had a nut allergy in our party. The waiter said that it's just garlic and mayo.....I asked if there are nuts and he point blank said no. So I said well it's green so is there pesto? He said oh yeah there is a little. PESTO IS MADE WITH PINE NUTS. Even though pine nuts = seeds, people with nut allergies should probably still avoid that. So the nut allergy has been established, but the waiter still didn't quite seem to get it. As for the entrees, same as last time, I felt my entree had too strong of a herb taste and I ordered the moussaka this time vs the fish from last time. The first couple of bites were fine and then it just started feeling heavy esp with the huge portion size. Steak was bland so don't expect to come here for some good quality steakhouse level stuff. The lamb chops were not dry and had a lot of flavor. Now for dessert....we ordered the lava cake except it comes out with chocolate ice cream and NUTS (which were NOT listed on the menu). Menu had listed vanilla ice cream, but they didn't even bother telling or asking us about the switch??? So we said there's a whole pile of nuts and is there a different flavor? They come back out with the SAME plate, but just the ice cream and nuts scooped away lol. Thank goodness it's not a SEVERE allergy because otherwise this would NOT be okay whatsoever. And to replace the ice cream since vanilla was out, they gave us LEMON SORBET for the CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE. Does that even make sense as a combination???? At this point, we were like okay fine just give us back the chocolate ice cream WITHOUT the nuts. Bill came out to $1200 including tips. Apps were probably better than the entrees. Dessert was absurdly lackluster as the lava cake was bitter and cold. As the night went on, the lights got SO dark we had to ask them to turn it up a bit because we literally could NOT see the food in front of us even with the little mini candles. And the music started BLASTING, which I don't know if it was on purpose to drown out the conversations of our group or if they just normally turn it up at 9pm at night. So this was a very disappointing evening to say the least and I feel guilty for choosing this restaurant that ended up with such an expensive bill, but yet the service and some of the food were less than impressive. read more

I went here after multiple recommendations from friends and this place does not disappoint. I have to be honest, I don't understand how this restaurant can get any less than 4 stars on Yelp. The food was absolutely delicious. Get the Kyma chips and the Saganaki! They're fantastic. I also got the Fagri (pink snapper), which I've never had before, with the lemon potatoes. The fish was delicious and so fresh. Our server Clifton was amazing. Very thorough with great recommendations and so attentive. The service was great as well. I went to Kyma with a friend last night to pick up a gift certificate and stayed for a drink and appetizer. We sat at the bar and the service was horrible. I had to wave down the women bartender to order a drink, we never received water until I asked for it. She didn't ask if we wanted to order anything, so again I had to wave her down. It was like I was invisible. Then again when we were leaving I had to wave her down to get a check. I will never, ever go there again. I'm just sorry that I purchased the gift certificate before I had this experience and I've been there before and had a similar experience which I had forgotten about. It's a great place to people watch- lots of spiked heels and always a couple of Lamborghini's in the lot...if you can get past that and focus on the food- you'll enjoy your evening. Very fresh seafood fair. The octopus is very tender and the Houloumi cheese is spot on from Cypress. Whole fish to sushi grade tuna to shrimp saganaki- all great. Have been to Kyma quite a few times and never left disappointed, except for last night's dinner. We were seated outside which is this tiny corner by the building but very cosy (until you realize you can hear all the cars pulling up to the parking lot). The waiter came in asking for the order without even saying hi and after we said we needed a minute to look at the menu he disappeared for good 15-20 minutes. We were seated right by the heater which was really nice because it was a chilly night, next thing you know the waiter is taking it to move it next to the bigger table (really?!), no excuse me, do you mind, nothing! I love the food there and their specialty cocktails are always delicious but last night we got so annoyed with our waiter we didn't even order the main course, just really couldn't wait to get out of there. Went here just the other day for the first time since the pandemic and it was great as usual. I used to frequent semi regularly back in the day but circumstances changed but it was nice to see the restaurant up and buzzing like 2+ years ago and back further. Food and drink was as good as ever and service was great. From the waitstaff to the bar to the new maitre d's- all top notch. Valet guys were always great with me.
