i've been to Ky Nails 4 times. I don't understand their pricing. I always have the same thing done. Sometimes it may be $4 more than the last! I've gone to 4 different tech's. I don't have a fav. It seems like each individual tech has their own areas of strength of the craft. They all seem to fall short of total professionalism. I've been to other salons that are far worse! I am a poor excuse of a girl and rarely get my nails done. I had to get my nails done for a wedding but prior to that the last time I had my nails professionally done was for my senior prom when I was in high school. There was a party of 4 and we made an appointment for it. This nail salon is crazy busy and if you don't have an appointment be prepared to wait for a while. The thing that bothered us the most was we didn't get to enjoy each other's company while getting our nails done. We were taken back one by one so we were there longer than expected. The people that did my nails were good and they did a good job. I felt bad for her because she was working on my nails, managing the phone, managing walk ins and there was this lady yelling at her to work on her nails while she was working on mine. I had to really bite my tongue and not say anything to her because she probably would have caused a scene. The prices in my opinion are horrible! It cost me 80 dollars which was way more than I expected. Now I remember the reason why I don't get my nails done. we came here as a bridal party to get our nails done together before the wedding. There were 4 of us and we had made an appointment a few days prior. This nail salon is really pretty on the inside. I don't know if it was just the day we came on, but this place was crazzzyyy busy. I felt bad for them because they all seemed to be frazzled and had a hard time keeping up. The whole reason we made an appointment for a certain time was so that we could all be taken back together and enjoy each other's company. Instead we were each taken back one by one, with about 10 minutes in between each person. I got a french full set and pedicure. I had two people switch off on mine. They were friendly, but I felt like they were completely rushing through my nails just so they could get to the next person. My nails ended up looking fine. I had red polish on my toes before, and some was still left on after they had been painted french. The lady that did them was speeding so freaking fast through it that it had taken about 5 minutes. Their prices are not bad. $50 for both so I can't complain. I doubt I will come back here, but it did the job alright. read more

This nail salon is smaller than others nearby but is decorated beautifully and offers fast and friendly service. Staff members are patient with you to ensure you're happy with your service. Gel manicures here cost $35 and come with an amazing hand/forearm massage, and the polish typically lasts at least 2.5 weeks. The only reason my review is 4 stars instead of 5 is because this salon does not offer a diverse variety of gel polish choices like others do. I wish I could get a cat eye or holographic gel mani here but it's not something they currently offer, unfortunately. read more

I have never had such a terrible experience while getting my nails done. I asked for a simple flower painted on my finger , and he lady told me she doesn't do art. I asked if someone else could do the flower .. and she ignored me. She painted my nails with gel, but didn't seal the pain job nor did she file down my nails evenly. I corrected her multiple times , and finally she stopped responding and started talking in another language to the individual sitting next to her. She then attempted to paint a flower on my finger. It looked like a banana . The other nail techs walked over and laughed and made jokes , and I asked her to take it off because it was terrible. She then told me it would cost more if she took it off. Requested a basic mani-pedi. The lady doing my pedicure pointed to the pricing chart wanting to know if I needed something extra and I told her no nothing extra, just a basic mani pedi and pointed to what I wanted on the pricing chart. She followed by not exfoliating my feet at all and doing very little work around my toenails. She put on a clear base coat and then try to shove my shoe over top of it, smearing the base coat. I told her she smeared the base coat and she said okay but obviously she didn't understand a word I was saying. I told her again she said okay and continued to put the Polish on. After she put the polish on my toe it was very plain to see that she had smeared the base coat. I showed her that and ask her to please take it off and redo it. She didn't know what I was saying so two other women who work there came over and were staring at my feet and talking in their language. Finally I explained again to the ladies what had happened and I asked if anyone understood what I was saying. I guess one of them did because the lady doing my Petty continued to take off the Polish and redo it. Also she had one toenail much longer than the other and I asked to please cut it down to match which she did. I felt a lot of ridiculous and hostility coming from these ladies. Then she did my manicure which was better than the pedicure but still awful, as she rushed through it not taking enough time to get rid of the cuticles, which is the main reason I go to these places. Then she did not put a proper top coat on to seal it. Of course it started wearing off immediately with the lack of a top coat. I believe the total came to $53 and I left a $7 tip, not because she deserved it but just because I was being a decent person. I can only get mani-pedis a few times a year and it was very disappointing that this had to be one of them. I do not recommend this place at all! read more

This was the most horrible experience. In town visiting for the holidays and chose this place for a pedicure. I got the basic pedicure for $30.. and the quality was horrible. There was a finishing coat put on that was like glue and actually seems to have damaged my nails. The lady who did the pedicure was rude as well. I went in for a mani and pedi. 37 weeks pregnant. I was wearing a dress and when I sat down the techs on the other side of the salon turned around and made nasty faces as if they could see any of my personal area. I had shorts under my dress. When I saw them making faces and talking about me it really hurt my feelings and embarrassed me to no end so I said something to them. The main one that was making faces refused to even look at me while the others acted like it wasn't about me. I attempted to leave but the man that was doing my pedi asked me to stay and tried to console me. I will NEVER GO BACK. So unprofessional, rude, childish and ridiculous. I have had some time to cool off and gather my thoughts before this review yet it still infuriates me thinking about this afternoon and one star may be too much. My first experience at this salon went extremely well and I was happy to have found a place near by that knew what they were doing. I came in on last Monday to get a fill and pedicure. Upon my arrival a lady asked me what I wanted and I informed her a fill with Ombré. I asked for the gentleman who had done it last and she stated it was her husband and he had off. She looked at my nails and and said, " All polish?" I informed her that it wasn't polish, but powder. She said,"no. Polish!" After she directed me where to sit to get my pedicure. The girl giving my pedicure was nice and quiet. Yet when it came to my polish I informed her it would depend on if they could do the ombré like I wanted. The girl doing my pedicure said she couldn't. The original lady who checked me in said they couldn't do the grey and black, or white and black, but red and black ok. So I went with red toe nails in the gel. Afterwards I was going to pay for my toes to tip the girl who did my pedicure and suddenly informed she was doing my nails too! I said to the lady, " I thought she can't do ombré?" Her response was, " it's ok she's just doing the nail part." So I sat and let her start the fill process. Everything was going well until she didn't understand what a coffin cut was. My nails came in one way.... she was just starting to fill them. Now they were being mutilated into children's art projects. The tops were completely uneven and if they didn't look so bad I would have got up and left immediately!! I think everyone could feel the tension around us. I asked her how she was going to fix it? She ended up rebuilding the nail, which made it look extremely wide. Then she blamed it on my nail bed. Although, sorry my nails looked perfectly fine prior to being touched that morning. FYI- one of your employees did them! After the nails were filled the tech called over the original lady that checked me in ( I don't know if she's the manager) on what to do about the ombré she asked what colors I wanted. I showed her the picture of how I wanted my nails again ( I had showed her previously while getting my pedicure. I didn't want to choose a color if they couldn't do it. I would have stuck to the pink and white. ) I was assured they could do what I wanted!!!! Now we are at that point and the lady sits down with her brush and starts painting my nails, nothing sticks. I let her know .... again that they have never used a brush on my nails. She said that's how they do it. She tried a few more times and nothing. It just fell right off. She said they couldn't do it. She then called her husband, who did my nails last time , Who informed her he used POWDER!!!!!! JUST AS I TOLD HER!!!! After telling me this she then informs me that these nails that I just had put on prior to my last fill, will have to be taken off!!! All because she didn't listen to her customer, she didn't know a request and instead of saying we can't perform that today or researching the information prior she continued on with this process and put the consumers needs last. I ended up spending $101 that day on Red nails I absolutely HATE!!!!! Number one, I would have never chosen plain red. I came I there wanting gray and black or gray and white. I ended up with red toes because I was told you could do the ombré in red and black. Once that couldn't be done I was stuck with going red on my nails so they matched. Now I will be out of pocket even more because I have to get a whole new set, and toes to match in gel. All in all this mistake has cost me over $350. No thanks!!!!!! read more

My nails came out fine. I was a little upset that the woman doing my nails was insistent on not putting a sold color under the glitter like I had asked for. She just kept saying to trust her and that the glitter looks fine on it's own. Which it does but it doesn't match the solid color I had picked out. If she had just put the solid under the glitter like I asked for, instead of insisting that I do something else, I'd give 5 stars. read more

I came in for a mani with a bridal party on a Friday at 10. Thankfully we had a reservation as they were extremely busy. After the confusion of who would do my mani (since I wasn't getting a pedi they needed someone else to do mine) I finally got seated. The lady pretty much immediately asked how I was paying and proceeded to ask about three other times. And since I was getting just a mani which is only $7, they had to add an extra dollar onto the charge since it was under $10. I will say that my nails looked good for the wedding, but just a few days later they started chipping. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

The place looks old and like most of the equipment hasn't been updated in years, and I certainly don't feel like I got pampered $35 worth (before tip!) for a pedicure! The tech that did my pedicure was friendly, but almost too friendly, asking some weird and uncomfortable questions. Call me old fashioned, but I sometimes would just like to sit in silence and catch up on social media or read trashy magazines without being forced to answer odd questions. Just saying. Pedicure was good and if that was the only service I received I would have given it 1-2 extra stars. Nothing amazing, but an excellent price and was well done. However the gel manicure I received was one of the worst ever. The polish was streaky and some of the edges of my nails were rough. But the worst part was the nail polish left on my skin and the gobs of clear top or base coat I has to peel from the underside of my nails later. Very dissatisfied with the service I received today (8/15/15) although the silver lining was that the nail tech I had did not cut me. Normally when I get a pedicure I want to relax and I almost always agree to upselling (manicure, foot massage) when I know what is offered. Unfortunately, this was my first time here and my tech did not attempt to offer me any other services. While the pedicure was speedy and painless, I didn't get the chance to relax which was my main goal. I'll make the 40 minute trek to my normal spa. read more

Had a pedi and fill in for nails. Two different people worked on me , which I had never experienced before, now I know why. She did not know how to do it. It was the worse set of nails I have had put on. In the middle of her doing my nails, she stopped and did a eyebrow wax. When I finally left I didn't inspect my nails so close, I've been doing my nails for years and have never had this much trouble before. I had spent 40.00 plus 9.00 for tips. Later that day I noticed two of my nails were chipped, I started inspecting closer and saw they were a mess. They were wavy not smooth, the sides were rough looking and not sealed. I called right away and told them my problem, told them I would be back the next day. They looked at them and and had someone do repairs, I ask the man by just repairing, did he think I would have trouble with the rest of them! He never really answered me, he did re polish all. The next day polish was chipping more nails were chipped and lifting!! Today, Monday I returned. I was ask to wait and had a couple of people look at them. One lady said my nails were thin, they are, that is why I put on the acrylic , but for years since I started having them done I have not had this problem! The acrylic was too thin, it was also separating from my nail. This person acted like it was my fault!! She even ask me how many months I had them on, I was upset I had this new set put on a little over two weeks. I could have showed her when I had them put on. There was a lot of talking among them, I was made to feel like I was trying to get something for nothing. The person took polish off and was only going to repair the ones that were chipped and broken, I told her to forget it if they were not going to redo them all, she was thrilled she didn't have to re do them!! We are talking about $15.00, they choose to lose me as a customer, and all my friends!! What I was really upset about besides the ugly nails was my two trips from Oldham County, and I'm sure more trips until all 10 nails were redone!! ZERO STARS- This is THE worst place Ive ever been in my entire life. They painted my nails uneven- they didn't paint my thumbs all the way- they look like a weeks worth of growth- I kept trying to tell her and she kept going. When it was all finished I was clearly unhappy- but I had a meeting to get to- so I left and went to the meeting- 30 minutes away - and the more I saw my nails In the daylight the worse they were. The edges are a different color- the ends aren't painted- and the color is so uneven it looks like a 10 year old painted my nails- When I called the salon after my meeting, She refused to refund my money- and wanted me to drive 30 minutes back to the salon. Who's paying for that gas and my time? I had to go to a salon by my house and pay to have the color taken off and redone- so my shitty manicure cost me $80 Ridiculous! THE WORST $35 IVE EVER SPENT In MY ENTIRE LIFE. There are WAAAAY Too MANY nail salons to offer that poor of customer service. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. read more

My wife asked them several times the break up of the price but they didn't inform and ended up charging $18 for just drying the nails which was not needed. Never going back to this place. My friend and I have been going to KY Nails for years. The last couple visits have been not so great. Our most recent visit (on a weekday at 10 am) was the worst and probably the tipping point. We were promptly seat and the ladies were friendly. After about five minutes there is a sudden influx of customers. The ladies then begin to rush. I asked to not get the razor and for the pumice stone; she lightly rub my feet and then stopped. When I pointed out a rough spot she told me only the razor would help, wrong! They rushes through painting our nails and didn't do a great job. My friend got her brows waxed and the woman burned her and left wax on her lids. I've come back numerous times and always request him because he always does a good job. Today I did the same. At the end of getting a pedicure/manicure he told me not to ask for him anymore, that he doesn't like that and I should just have anyone do it. I didn't say anything because I was shocked and sad that he would say that. I have never said or done anything wrong or anything that would be offensive. She wasn't overly chatty, but she did chat and was very friendly. I only went in for a pedi but then she told me they did eye brow waxing too.
