I was pulled over and unbeknownst to me my taillights were completely out, so I was anxious to get them fixed right away. I came to Kwik Kar and explained I'd like to have the fuse on my taillights checked. I was in and out in under an hour, fuse fixed, lights replaced and it was only 35 dollars. Service was great and while waiting I was given an update and explanation regarding my fuse. Everytime I've come to this location, I leave happy and pricing is reasonable for what I've had done. False diagnosis of my vehicle! Last week the check engine light on my JX35 has turned on. This shop charged me $343.56 for airflow sensor replacement. A few days later the check engine light came on again and I brought my car to the shop. The mechanic said he did wire the check engine light for now but diagnosis will take more than 3 hours if the check engine light comes on again. Today the check engine light came on as I expected. I went to my infiniti dealership repair and their diagnosis only took 30 minutes. They found that intake boot was torn and needs to be replaced. I finally got my car fixed. I'm glad that I did not go back to this shop. Otherwise, I would waste more than 3 hours and pay additional money for misdiagnosis and misrepair. read more

I had an error message about my headlights so went to this Kwik Kar and they replaced my bulbs and everything works great and for a fraction of the cost I had expected! I had called Honest Autocare 1st and they were going to charge me $200 just for a diagnostic review - that was not in addition to the labor and bulb replacement. Arrogant and condescending. I called for a female friend to have them explain the line items on the estimate. Instead of walking me through the line items the "manager" immediately said I need to pick up the car because he doesn't want a problem. I assured him that I just needed to understand the charges since his quote was $120 more expensive than the other quote I got. He explained that his price for the parts were 50% more expensive than AutoZone because he had to make "a dollar." I acknowledged that he does need to make a profit but that he also received a discount on the parts off normal prices so even at 10% markup he would make money in addition to labor. He then told me that he is the cheapest mechanic in the entire area. When I told him I had a quote $120 cheaper in Irving he reminded me that he was in The Colony... Essentially saying his price bragging doesn't hold up outside a small radius. Then he told me to just pick up the car. I asked to speak to the manager and Joe said he was the manager and that there was "no one higher" at this Kwik Kar. He then hung up on me and called back my female friend and offered to do the job cheaper. Sneaky and dishonest. So the moral of the story is don't ask questions to understand what you are getting. Joe doesn't want informed customers who care whether they are getting ripped off. So if you want to blindly waste your money and blissfully be ripped off go see Joe at Kwik Kar! read more

This place is Amatuer Hour run by a bunch of Stoners who look and act like they know more about Vaping Cannabis on the Job than they do properly diagnosing Automobile malfunctions. I took my car in for repair on Monday. I suspected I needed Wheel Bearings and I did. Quote: $400 approximately and will be ready today. Half the day goes by then I get a call there is a crack in the "Spindle" and it will be another $200 approximately and they can't get the part til Wednesday. Today is Wednesday, get a call from the same unintelligible person (still don't know his name) who has called me each time "HeyBossdisiscarlkwikcar, your car is ready." I paid the $700 Bill got into my car, drove away and it sounded like the front end was falling out. Spoiler Alert: It was. I drove it back and the Manager Dude insisted it was fine when they Test Drove it. He took it for a spin, came back and muttered "nope, not safe.' No shit, Sherlock. I guess that test drive was out of the Bay and into a parking spot. He asked me to leave it with him again so he could figure out the problem. I did and I waited and waited some more. Finally, the suspense was killing me so I drove back up there and after watching Manager Dude throw the phone around for a bit because his Credit Card Machine was busted he took me out to my Car to show me the new problem. The Struts are out. Another $420 to repair. Now, I know the Struts being out is not their fault but C'mon, the worst thing you can do to a Consumer is to give them their car repair costs piecemeal. Find all the shit that is wrong and give a price to repair. Otherwise, you are no better than Cousin Frank who will fix your Car under the Shade Tree by just replacing Parts til he gets it right. DO NOT GO HERE. ZERO STARS IF I COULD. I have never been absolutely livid at a business before this. Went for an inspection. Failed report said my two FRONT tires had low tread depth, not back. Back were fine. Okay no worries, I noticed it, acknowledged it, and went elsewhere to get my front tires changed (got untrusting vibes from the guy helping me that's why) So I went to an established tire place, got two new tires. They had to switch my front and back tires because the new ones always go on the back. Before they did this, they asked me if there were any issues with the back tires. Note, I said no because my inspection said only my two front tires were only messed up. Went back here today to get a redone on my inspection for no fee. Apparently I failed this time due to "wrong tires." I don't understand? I just got new tires. You can see the tread looks great. The guy helping me (same guy) said the back tires look great (the new ones) but now my front tires are low on tread depth. This is utter BS because if that was the case, you would've told me during my first inspection that my back tires need to be changed too. When I asked if I could speak with the person who does my inspection, the guy answers "he's not very smart." WHY IS HE DOING MY INSPECTION THEN? They just want to scam you for more money. AVOID. AT. They screwed up 3 times on what type of oil filter I needed. I called in advance, was told it would take 20 min tops. 45 min later they are sending off for another filter. I was not happy but they were rude back and told me to take my car to the Volvo shop next time. What's the point in going to a shop when it's poor service and rude management? The wait time is very less and service was quick as their name suggests. The charge for the inspection is around 25$. The staffs working their kind and very professional. I have been coming to this location for two years, since I moved to the Colony, to get my oil changed. I have always used Groupon and saved some money in the process. They accept it without issue and the service remains great. Aside from the normal suggestions to change my air filter (which I hadn't done in about two-three years), no hassling or up-selling. I have frequented a few other Kwik Kar locations and they normally vacuum my vehicle after the oil service. I think they may have missed doing this a few times for me. Other than that, no issue. I will continue frequenting this location as long as they continue treating me the way they have. read more

They always try to talk my wife and daughter into the more expensive oil change when it does not need it. They ended up taking it to WalMart and got it done for $40 bucks with wipers! Not sure how this place gets positive reviews. I pull up and say I just need an oil change. A guy walks up to my car and asks for the key fob, gets in my car (dirty) and pulls the car up without saying a word more to me. I have to ask him if I just wait inside and he said yes. At this point I was already a bit timid. I'm watching him do the oil change and he's pulling the skid plate down bending it instead of taking off all the bolts like he should. Finally someone came in and asked what oil I wanted. I responded with Castrol synthetic 5w-30. He responded saying he doesn't have it until I point it out on the shelf right in front of us. He puts it in and shuts the hood without running it and checking oil levels all while smoking a cigarette over my engine bay and in my car where he put the sticker. He then came back and charged me for the oil change without washing his hands. Receipt and paperwork were filthy. My card was dirty. I get back into my car and notice the guy parked close to the shelf and now theres a scratch on my door. I have no clue how these people are still employed. Even for something as simple as an oil change should come with just a little bit of customer service but I felt like more of a problem to them. This place sucks. Not a happy customer. Came in for a tire repair (small sheet metal screw stuck in the tread resulting in a slow leak) and a vehicle inspection. The crew removed the offending screw then plugged the tire at no charge. During the initial phase of the inspection they noticed a hole in the exhaust pipe in front of the muffler and advised they could temporarily repair it however it would likely cause more issues than it would resolve. An honest mechanic? Woo hoo, I found one! Took my vehicle to have the exhaust system repaired then came right back to Kwik Kar where they performed the state inspection rather kwikly and helped me on my way. I recommend this facility to anyone in need of their services. read more

I went here to get an inspection today for my car, which it passed as it should because I take good care of my vehicles. What I'm NOT happy about is that they tried to take advantage of me and lied to do so. First of all, I actually know quite a bit about cars so you picked the wrong woman for this one! I was told they needed to flush my brake fluid, power steering fluid and coolant. I did not get any of these services from them and here's why... The coolant reservoir was completely empty which shouldn't happen unless I had a leak which I don't. When I asked him about this he told me that coolant just evaporates down here in Texas and it's normal. I'm a born and raised Texan, seriously that is not the problem if your car is completely out of coolant. Magically though, when I went to the auto parts store to pick up coolant there was my coolant again in the reservoir. He also brought up my brake pads even though I just got all new pads and rotors a couple of months ago. I will admit both my power steering and brake fluids are a little darker but not as bad as he made it sound. I won't be coming back since you're trying to take advantage of people who you assume know nothing about cars. Not sure if this was because I'm a female, because I'm driving a luxury car, or because I looked gullible but whatever it was nice try, I'm done with you all! read more

This review will be like several others that have already been posted in the fact that, staff is friendly upfront, but try to get you to pay way more than you actually need. I was trying to get my car inspected by myself for the first time. I had a coupon that was $7 off state inspection so I thought why not, and tried it out. When I pulled up, the man who greeted me was very nice and told me what to do to get in line. I sat in the lobby and waited about 15 minutes before the same man came in and told me to follow him to my car with the hood up. Apparently my windshield wipers were ripped, one of my tail lights were out, and this thick oil had leaked from somewhere and coated part of my engine near the belt that needed to be cleaned to pass inspection. He gave me a breakdown of those things, and not knowing much better, I said to go ahead and fix all those things because I wanted to pass inspection today. He said it would be about an hour, so I had a ride pick me up and go somewhere. After an hour and on my way back, they had called me, and said they knew where the leaking oil had come from, but to replace it, it was going to be $400. Without that, I would not pass inspection. I was already paying close to $200 for them to fix the other things they told me about, and now I had to pay $400 more, AFTER they had already looked at it? I felt something fishy going on, so I told them I'll get it fixed somewhere else. Next place I went to said they saw no leakage from anywhere that would cause me to fail the inspection. They even passed my inspection for free because of the trouble Kwik Kar gave me. Long story short, if you don't know hardly anything about cars, you probably shouldn't get your inspection done here. They will try to jack up the prices for things you aren't asking for. read more

My wife came in for a state inspection and they told her that she would not pass her inspection unless she replaces her windshield wipers. Of course they offered to replace them for her for $40.00. Seriously, $40.00 for windshield wipers on a 2016 Nissan Sentra?! Nice try! My wife got suspicious and went to the dealership instead and they said that the windshield wipers were fine. They passed her inspection without any issues. I called to speak with the Manager about the ordeal and he was immediately rude and argumentative. I told him that I would be filing a complaint and his exact words were, "Good luck with that". I've posted this to my Facebook page today and so far 4 of my friends that live in The Colony area have already replied with similar stories with this Kwik Kar. DAMAGED MY CAR 2 WEEKS AFTER I HAD THE ALIGNMENT FIXED AT MY DEALERSHIP. I simply went to kwik Kar to get my brakes looked at because my dealership was charging a little more and it wasn't covered under the warranty. I had had good service in the past so I went to Kwik Kar in The Colony, TX-there were no lights on my dashboard but because they said I needed rotors which I thought was odd they needed to keep the car two days because they didn't have the parts. When I returned to pick up my vehicle the lights were all back on the dashboard the steering wheel was twisted to the right when it was supposed to be centered about 25%. I drove the car around the block came right back to Kwik kar and told them about how my car was squealing and gripping just going through a slow turn, and how my new alignment job was ruined, and they basically rushed me off and said it must've been something that "you did." I brought my car back to my dealership right away and my dealership put it up and noticed that my stabilization bar as well as a sstrut were cracked . to the tune of $1785.00-kwik Kar lube and tune in the colony Texas broke my car and then turned around and tried to blame it on me - do not go there they are not worth your trouble or your time. They also missed quoted the bill and didn't give me the price that we had agreed on previously. read more

I went in for an oil change. The service was quick! Maybe about 15-20 min wait time. The technician then offered some reasonable suggestions on other work that I might consider. He was patient as I discussed over the phone with my partner how we wanted to proceed. We decided on the brake flush and passing on the filter. Another 15 min wait time and I was ready to go. I never felt pressured by the technician to do any additional work. The suggestions were honest and reasonable (I knew we hadn't had a brake flush in a loooooonng time). He even gave me a discount! I was able to use a coupon on the oil change. I have visited two other kwik kar locations closer to my home and service is similarly good but the wait time on those other places were ridiculously long! So glad I could pull up and get the service I needed quickly! I will definitely return! read more

A typical oil change took like ten minutes without an appointment, and I brought my car back again for a different problem. One of the guys drove me home in my car so he could hear what I was hearing... and the problem was solved less than half an hour later.
