I recently visited Firestone for an oil change and inspection, paying over $100 for the service. While I understand upselling is part of the process, the staff were so focused on selling me additional services that they did not properly complete the job I actually came in for. They performed the oil change, but failed to properly install the oil filter cap. Because of this mistake, all the oil leaked out while I was driving. I had told them clearly that I was traveling out of state and needed everything done correctly, yet their lack of attention still caused a major issue. Luckily, I caught the problem in time before the engine was damaged, but the situation still cost me two full days stuck in a state I didn't even plan to stay in, waiting for the weekend to pass so I could get the car looked at on Monday. I had to pay for a tow truck, take the car to a mechanic, and get everything fixed -- all because the oil filter cap was not installed properly. This kind of negligence is completely unacceptable. Firestone needs to take responsibility for this and reach out to me immediately. What I went through was stressful, expensive, and entirely avoidable. So overall, they do a pretty awesome job for the work that they perform. They have worked on my wifes car for an alignment and that's really it. Same for me, however they were very knowledgable and understanding. I needed an alignment, so I thought, but I had a few worn out bushings on my control arms. I replaced all of them myself and brought them in for an alignment. They did a fantastic job, and it was completely worth it. They took care of my car, provided the new specs it had, and did it in a timely manner. I would rather not rush something like that than not. read more

If you try calling this place during or after normal business hours, you will get a message that their voice mail box has not been set up yet. I called the 1-800 number next and they also were unable to reach anyone at this location. If you try to reach them online, you have to download their app. No thanks, I don't need yet another app on my phone. I just wanted to ask a question about their service. A week later, I tried calling again just to see if they had fixed their problem. Nope. Calling corporate did not fix anything. I only use this location for my car. Everyone is nice, professional and knowledgeable. It's best to make an appt because I feel like they are always busy but best part of it all is that I can trust them and that is hard for a female getting her car looked at or fixed. Beware, consumers of The Colony! Wife and I had to leave our car overnight at Firestone in the Colony last night, unexpectedly. We verified with the gentleman at the counter that our car would be pulled into a bay overnight. We grabbed what we would need for work today, LOCKED it, grabbed our Lyft and left. Today we found out that our car was not pulled into a bay overnight, but it was unlocked. The Firestone techs were the only ones with the key. As a result, our car was broken into, ransacked, items were stolen, and various portions of the interior of the car were destroyed, and the robbers attempted to use an old debit card that was in the glove box. Carelessness and recklessness on the part of the folks at Firestone resulted in damages that we will have to cover. I am extremely disappointed, as we have come to this Firestone in the past and the mechanical work has always been top notch. Beware of leaving your car with this shop for any length of time, because this was our first and last time doing that. read more

I have utilized this shop to supply my ride with: - New, amazing tires - Tire balance/rotation - Oil changes - State inspection stickers - Cleaning out of all engine, brake fluids - Fixed leaks or broken engine parts I might depend too much on them to take care of my car, but so far they haven't told me "we don't do that" yet. Very friendly staff who are willing to break down the science of auto care for someone like me who just doesn't know what they're talking about. They have competitive prices and can usually get your car out the same day if they have parts on site. Please go in and see them, because they are great at what they do. read more

Steve. C was extremely rude and lied to my face about the reason they wasted 4 hours of my time. I went in for an alignment and was told there would be a 1 hour wait. An hour and a half later I called to check the status of the vehicle, he stated it would be an additional hour and a half. In an hour and a half they called me and said that my vehicle was too low to drive onto the alignment ramps. (Vehicle is stock, stock springs/struts etc.. with 3-4 inches of ground clearance) I spoke in person with Steve and he was highly dismissive and avoiding accountability stating that it was the techs fault etc.. as I was leaving a tech approached my vehicle and stated that the reason the other tech didn't want to work on my vehicle is because I was going to purchase a lifetime alignment and they believed they would have to frequently align the vehicle. Steve C lied to my face to attempt to cover his ass from turning down service because he and/or the techs are lazy. The vehicle was not even attempted to be loaded onto the ramp and did not move from the spot I parked it. 0 stars. read more

Had service done on 2 occasions at this location and the quality of work was horrible both times. I've had to return multiple times to make them do the work correctly. The manager James is great. Unfortunately, he's not available most of the time and I was stuck dealing with Steve. He's pathetic and gives the entire shop a bad reputation. He lied saying the recently installed brake rotors only had a 1 year warranty and the premature wear exceeded the warranty time. When I spoke with James the issue was quickly resolved. He confirmed the new rotors came with a 2 year warranty. I had to bring my car back 3 times because of braking issues. Steve was incapable of solving the issues even after I paid for another new set of rotors. James found the problem and refunded the replacement cost. My next visit unfortunately also involved Steve. This time I needed a radiator flush which was improperly done. Shortly after the service was performed the radiator began leaking and again I had to return to find out the radiator is broken and needs replacing . I should have learned my lesson the first time. I will NEVER use this Firestone location again. Buyer BEWARE. The staff is incompetent and you'll be overcharged. read more

I brought my '02 Tahoe in this past Sunday to replace the rear shocks. A couple hours later received a call from Jame, the store manage, telling me the technician had found a problem with the front end; that the tie rod ends were badly worn and needed replacement. While I ok'd the repair, I decided to go look at the repair as well. James introduced me to the technician, Elias. Elias got his flashlight and showed me the problem. They asked if I had felt the front vibration. in fact I had been experiencing a wobble between 35 &45 mph. Elias told me he does not ever recommend a repair unless it actually needs it.. picked up the vehicle later and took it for a drive. 100% better. no wobble and no bouncing shocks. I have been having oil changes and repairs done at this store for several years. I trust them to be honest, make the proper repairs correctly and to keep the price as reasonable as possible. Brought my car in for an alignment, simple enough. Got a call four hours later saying they can't do the alignment without getting a new front lower control arm replaced. (Really four hours to even look at it?!) I agree to the not so sweet tune of almost $600. Picked it up and the next day the front end was making an AWFUL clunking sound when going over bumps slowly, and the back was making a noise that sounded like a bearing. I bring it in a few days later specifically for the noise in the front, since it started since I got it "fixed". Couple hours later I'm told I need new struts all the way around for $1400. So that noise? Never addressed. Got a second opinion from my typical mechanic, low and behold, my struts were just fine, and the back end noise wasn't struts...and the front end noise wasn't from struts...interesting. Lied to in efforts to get the most money. My concerns with their work wasn't addressed. Thanks, but no thanks. I won't be back. read more

We were told it would be 2 hours for our oil change, ended up being 4 1/2. When they were done, they gave the car back without clearing the "maintenance indicator" that the oil needed to be changed, they said they couldn't figure it out. I made an online appointment for Sunday at 3p, which showed as available. I got an "we received your request but we're confirming" email then a call shortly after letting me know that they were short staffed, had a no-show, and couldn't accommodate. I requested Monday at 11:30a instead, then got an email confirmation for Sunday at 3p (huh?). I arrived for my 11:30 at 11:32 and after waiting in line, hit the desk at 11:39. The employee was very cheery but made a comment about me being 9 minutes late (nope...just been waiting). Finding my appointment took another few minutes ("you sure you booked here?" "you sure you didn't book this through a company?" "spell your last name again?" "ooh right at the bottom.") Taking the tires off of 2 wheels then balancing them on 2 new wheels took over an hour (with an appointment), and while waiting in the office, I didn't spend a minute without hearing an employee tell customers how behind they were, how long of a wait it would be, and how stressful it was. Took my 08 GMC Sierra 4wd in on Friday for brake inspection because I had a shimmy while braking. Told warped rotor, not uncommon, ok, I'll do the work myself because they gave me an estimate for 500 dollars. Go home order parts. Fast forward to Sunday, parts arrive and I start working on the truck and notice the caliper is eating into the wheel, weird for a warped rotor. Pull wheel off, caliper falls off as well. My guess is they took the bolts out to check the rotor and failed to put the bolts holding the caliper back on when finishing. Called the store and the manager isn't in, so he will call me tomorrow...in the meantime, I'll go get the parts and fix it myself so I don't get killed driving my truck. This place is a negligent homicide waiting to happen, will not spend another dime with firestone...won't buy their tires (including off-brand), oil changes, not a dime! read more

These guys are offering exceptional service under the most difficult, trying conditions. I originally made an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation, but was told they were short-handed mechanics so there would be a wait. Everyone is finding it difficult to hire help these days, so I don't hold that against them. Make a long story short, I was there longer than I wanted to be, but they made sure to do the job right, and that I left a happy customer. They stayed late, and went above and beyond. While on the road, some distance from home, my wife had repair work on her 2006 Pontiac Solstice at the Firestone in South Grand Prairie, TX back in May of 2013. About six months later, she experienced a problem related to the repair work done previously. We took the car to the Firestone closest to us, in The Colony and the people there were very courteous and were able to resolve the problem, all under the existing repair warranty. I was in town for the weekend heading to my sons' baseball game when I git an object in the road on the highway. I was in a rental car, and it had run flat tires. I got off the highway safely. One of the baseball moms picked my kids up and took them to their game while I sorted the flat tire out. Enterprise told me to go to the nearest firestone. I called them first, and they said it would be a 3-4 hour wait, considering it was Saturday (Halloween) and they were backed up. The guy I spoke with worked with me. He said I could bring the car in and he would try to squeeze me in, since I didn't leave anywhere near there and did not have an alternate ride. The tire I needed was not carried in stock there, so one of the guys drove to the frisco store and got one. They had me in and out in about an hour and a half. They made a very stressful day pretty much stress free for me. They thanked me for serving my country and explained they always try to take care of the troops. I appreciate everyone that helped me that day. Although I missed the boys' game, I was able to meet up with them shortly after for lunch! read more

I came in this evening at 6:47pm (they close at 7:00pm) after I had picked up a screw in my tire. There was one person in the waiting room. I walked up to the counter and explained to the girl my situation and she tells me that she can't help because they will be closed by the time they changed the other guys tire. I had already been to 3 other tire shops in the area but they had all already closed at 6:00pm so I was in pretty dire need at this point because I had a 2hr drive ahead to me to get home after a 12hr workday. I pleaded with her, explained my situation briefly, and offered to pay extra for the trouble. This is where it took a left turn for me and is the exact reason I just downloaded Yelp this evening. I never in my life have left a review on anything as I am generally a non-complainer type of person. This woman literally tells me "Well sorry we will be closed by then so you can leave your truck in the parking lot or SLEEP in it until the morning and they can fix it then." This is getting long so I apologize, but I hope if you read this, you tuck tail and run from this place. read more

One star because I couldn't give no star. Absolutely the worst customer service ever. Stopped on my way to work because my tire was registering as low. Man at the front desk said pull your car around to the front bay and someone will be with you shortly. He didn't know I had already done that and was patiently waiting with no acknowledgement whatsoever. Went back and sat and waited some more. Thought, maybe if I get out of my car someone will acknowledge. Finally stopped someone who told me he couldn't help me because they were all called inside. I explained that I had been waiting and I was told someone would be with me momentarily and I just needed someone to add some air. I guess he got permission to help me, came back to my car as I was about to leave and asked what the problem was. I x plainer it for the third time. He walked over and got the air hose, asked what the pressure should be and then told me if I wanted them to find the leak I would have to go inside and open a ticket and wait. I contacted corporate and was assured the district manager would get back with me. I did received a call from the manager of the store. He apologized and told me he wasn't denying it happened but he had not talked to anyone to be able to tell me why it happened or what they were doing to make sure this never happens to anyone again. I never heard back from him or the district manager. It's been several months so I guess lying to customers about the services they perform or in our case don't perform on your vehicle is ok with Firestone as a company. Not sure what's recently changed with this location as we have been taking our cars here since moving to the colony in 2009. However, the past two times I've taken my car in they did not do all the services I asked for and did a lazy job on my oil change and did not refill my wiper fluid. Recently, we found out that they sold my husband tires with no warranty and they wore out after only 1 year so now we have to buy 4 brand new tires. We trusted the employees here to do what was right for us and they didn't and did not try and make it right. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. They do not care about their customers. read more

Great spot if you are looking for casual sexual encounters. We had a slow leak in one of the tires. The replacement we needed wasn't in stock and had to be ordered. Instead of patching the tire they just aired it up. Mike text my wife to make sure she was coming in but the tire went flat overnight. He must have found her very attractive and even referred to her as a "Hot Mama!!!" After being nice enough to come to our home to fill up the tire so it could be driven back to Firestone for the two new tires. Install went well. Afterwards Mike made sure to follow up with my wife with this text, "HaHa... I'm sure you could ALWAYS find a reason to 'need me' if you used your imagination." And, "I'll look forward to hearing from you again... (To clarify, you don't need a reason to chat either... The auto service was pretty good as well as thorough, but I was not happy with the customer service. They were so intent on making sure that the black lady and hispanic man who came in after us were taken care of that they never bothered to tell us that they'd finished with our car. I think the guys at the desk are really nice and helpful, but the technicians - especially the fat, lazy, don't give a shit guy, are terrible. I watched this guy for over an hour and he did absolutely nothing. There were cars to work on and customers waiting, but it didn't phase him at all. I was driving to work, and my oil pressure light came on. I pulled off of the freeway and luckily glided right into this Firestone location. The man in the reception area was kind enough to help me, and did not charge me to put some oil in my car. He was sincere and had great customer service. Okay, to start off only giving 2 stars because Jeff, the store manager was the saving grace. I went here a couple Saturday's ago to get an oil change & a tire rotation. On my way home (about 2-3 miles) my car dinged at me that I had low oil. Once I got home, I checked the dip stick & there was NO oil. On Sunday I called the Carrollton location on accident & explained the situation. The guy who answered, Alfredo, was apologetic & instantly offered to send someone over to fix the issue and put oil in. Once I realized I had the wrong location I told him not to worry about it. Totally different reaction at The Colony location. The guy who answered the phone told me to DRIVE MY CAR with no oil so they could take a look. I refused & told him he would have to send someone over to fix it. He said they had nobody who could do that, but I could just go up to the store to get some oil to put in then drive it over to them. 2 things: 1. I paid for oil the day before that I obviously didn't get. 2. My car is my way of transportation, so how do I get to the store to get oil? I then suggested since he send over a tow truck to get my car. Nope. We actually sat in silence on the phone for a few minutes before someone else picked up & offered to send someone over. Yep, it could have been that easy. After I called customer service, the store manager Jeff called me and quickly gave me a refund and offered to check my car. In the end, I don't feel comfortable going back to this location & wouldn't really recommend to any one I know. read more

Once again they apologized and said I would be contacted in two business days. After two follow-up emails from me to Firestone - still no contact as committed. I am done with this - my review stands - horrible customer service. I would give a zero if I could! I take my work van in to have my emergency brake adjusted to pass inspection. The manger (Mike) tells me it could not be adjusted and I needed to replace my emergency brake shoes and my back rotors. He tells me the rotors are to thin to save and needed to be replaced. The estimate he gave was for $505.23 and that was for parts and labor. So I go for 2nd opinion and find out there is nothing wrong with my rotors and all I needed was the emergency brake shoes. The total out the door $105 and it passed inspection. I would not recommend anyone to this place and it is sad to see this place being this dishonest to there customers. So beware is you live in The Colony and think you want to go here. Will not return!!! read more
