This was a terrible experience. I strongly recommend going elsewhere if only because the manager could not have cared less about how disappointing the experience was. I took my car in for brake service. I was notified that the rotors were able to be resurfaced, and priced for new brake pads. I agreed. She called me back shortly after to say they don't recommend resurfacing but they'll try anyway. That failed so the price increased. They assured me repeatedly that the car would be ready by end of day. I called shortly before closing, and they said it was about to be ready. I went, paid, and watched them back the car out... then disappear. An hour later, they told me that apparently the brake pads were slipping off when put in reverse. I then had to wait until the next day for another set to be delivered & installed which was a huge inconvenience. I get that some things happen, but it was seriously a series of unfortunate events that no one seemed to care about. The apathetic back-and-forth was frustrating. Won't be returning here. 2 stars only because they did actually get the issue with the car fixed. read more

Ok, so they really didn't do any service, and I have nothing to say about the value. However, I'm moving to New Mexico, I had a torn cv boot on my macan, and I replaced it. Not too bad of a job, HOWEVER, OMG, it required 340ftlb of torque for the crown. My torque wrench went to 180, they had one that went to 250. I put alot of effort in tightening it, and found that I did that for over 250. They let me double check it was at least that tight. So, I can now get it checked at the dealership. To whom it may concern, I have been a customer of Brakes Plus for at least the last 14 years. I have always been a client at the Main St., Lewisville branch. My nightmare started on Saturday, April 26 when my 2020 Volvo XC-90 at a stop sign in Prosper turned completely off. For financial reasons, I decided to have it towed to Brakes Plus in The Colony (3804 Main street). The car stayed there till Monday. I was told after multiple phone calls that they thought the problem was the starter and that they would have to get the part from the dealership. They told me that I needed an oil change that it was 2000 miles from needing one then turned around and told me they had made a mistake and that I was overdue for an oil change by 3000 miles. I told them I was not interested because I had just had an oil change in October 2024 and that my oil change light had not come on. I picked up the car just around 6 PM and they told me that my air conditioner needed freon. I told them that I knew that and I didn't want it done yet for financial reasons. I barely got out of the parking lot when the car lit up again for me and completely stopped. It said "12V battery alarm need to return to store". I was able to get the car going again and headed back to the store which was a simple right turn back in. The store had actually closed but I waved down one of the guys in his car. He was not happy and told me that that would cause him to be late going home. I told him I am by myself at 6:15 PM what was I supposed to do. At that point, he was willing to help me. He saw the sign that said 12 V battery concern and he said it would be a simple thing of charging back the battery. He told me that maybe he did not have the right equipment and had one of the other guys come back. They opened my front and they tested the battery and they said that there was nothing wrong with the battery even though that is what the car lit up saying. They noticed because the front was open that the belt of the compressor had popped off is what they initially told me and then they moved it into the store. I was made to believe that they had tested the car for 45 minutes and that it was nothing but a coincidence that when I barely drove the car for a few seconds the compressor belt decided to pop. The went on to tell me that the whole compressor needed to be changed and that it was the reason that the starter went out. My initial impression was that they had misdiagnosed the car and that the starter never really needed to be changed and maybe the real problem was the compressor. I have since been made to understand that that was not true and the compressor had nothing to do with the car not moving. When they took it in the store and the guy told me the compressor needs to be changed the other guy who was there looked like he was not on board with that explanation and in hindsight I wish I had trusted my instinct that what they were telling me was not true. I eventually picked up my car on Wednesday. After they changed the oil that they said was dirty even though I had had an oil change in my annual in October. They fixed the compressor and the freon and charged me $2100. I had clearly stated to them that I am a single mom and that I could not afford except to have what was essential fixed in the car. The bottom line is that they went ahead and forced me into doing all these repairs. On one of the phone calls I made to them the guy who answered asked if I had been called to let me know that my rear brakes needed to be changed and that they were bad. I no longer trusted anything they told me. All I wanted was my car functional so I can get it out of there. On my way home, finally, with my car I noticed some loud noises every time I pressed the brakes. The noise was extremely loud- noises I had never heard till that day. The next day after dropping my kids to school the car again lit up for me this time saying engine coolant low. I immediately went back that afternoon after work to the Lewisville branch where they filled up the coolant. I am being told that when you get an oil change all your fluids are checked so obviously this was not done. Again, I do not understand why it would light up only after it was at their store and it had never done that before. The noises on the brakes had me take the car back early Friday morning to the Lewisville branch so that the car could be fixed especially when I understood that it was a safety hazard. They never mentioned at The Colony that it was a safety hazard. At Lewisville branch they could not understand why my compressor needed to be changed. I do not understand why suddenly everything is wrong on a 5-year-old car that was serviced on time at Brake Plus for the last 2 years. I do not want to be dramatic but from talking to people I would not be surprised that these problems were created in that store. Of course I cannot prove it. read more

Very honest and customer centric. I visited Brakes Plus location after a different company tried to scare me by telling me all my brakes and rotors needed immediate replacement. I felt uneasy after leaving the location and needed peace of mind. I came to Brakes plus and William and Reece listened and helped me with my concerns. They showed me my brakes and rotors and the grade and that they were not in need of immediate dire replacement. I know that when I need them replaced this is where I'll be coming to and if anything they can service is needed on me or family/friends cars this will be the place I go to and recommend. Disappointed in this new Brakes Plus in The Colony. Needed new rear brake pads for my 2019 Yukon. Simple and straightforward (I thought). Quoted $250-300 for the pads, labor and brake flush. Reasonable. Made an appointment for 4:30pm. Showed up about 4:15pm and checked in and everything was going well. 5:30pm came and went. No info and no one at the desk. 6pm (closing time) and still nothing. Finally get sometime to tell me that the total will be $345, the "creaking" was still present because it was in the brake caliper and they can't find the part for the brake caliper. At BRAKES PLUS! Left at 6:25pm to find that someone pulled everything out of the glove compartment and spread it around my passenger seat and floorboard. The center seats were also folded up for no apparent reason and the stuff that was on them also just scattered around the interior. Find somewhere else to get brake work (or any work) done on your vehicle! read more

I came in for a break check and was greeted quickly and kindly by Kevin. He let me know there was someone else before me, but the whole process start to finish was less than an hour! They let me see my brake pads for myself and informed me that they look new still. They recommend a brake flush and coolant flush without being over barring yet still providing me a quote for later. I highly recommend for others to come here and I will be back myself! read more

I took my car a location in North TX for an oil change and trip inspection. They told me that my car with 22-25k miles had a bad bearing and it needed to be replaced. Not only did they not have the right part for the price they told me, when they did get it, it was $50 more. Then the part was installed backwards causing all sorts of alarms on my car. They had to wait for their main tech to come in the next day and fix it and that left me and my daughter without a car for more than a day. Well, it still was not done correctly and how do I know? My tires that were supposed to be good for 60k miles, now need to be replaced with only 17k miles of use, and something else they did caused the break line to leak. They took advantage of me as a female and did crappy work. My husband had to take my car to the dealership to get everything corrected properly. This location was previously a different name, but BP bought it and is keeping the same employees. They have NO IDEA what they are doing and their incompetence cost us over $1,000 to correct their mistakes. Avoid this location. They will take advantage of you and screw up your car. read more
