We have been loyal customers for years, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Over the past several months, we've discovered that our family was repeatedly charged thousands of dollars for repairs that either did not solve the problem or, in some cases, appear not to have been completed at all. The most recent repair was going to be well over $5,000. When we questioned paying for work previously that didn't fix the issue, the story suddenly changed and we were told the repair would be free. After having the vehicle looked at elsewhere, we learned the problem had never actually been fixed, and we were fortunate that the situation didn't result in a vehicle fire. Trust is everything when it comes to auto repair, and unfortunately that trust has been completely broken. It's frustrating and heartbreaking to realize that a business we supported for so long treated us this way. Kevin Vanhorn the manager is horrible at helping fix an issue and just fix what's necessary to remove the check engine light I tried to get some answers he talked over me and then hung up on me! Brian has always been friendly every time I've been in. I've taken my vehicles up there for things I can't do myself such as alignments, state inspections, or things I don't want to tackle. Recently I had an odd request as I was replacing my alternator and a hex head bolt stripped out which attached to the stay bracket, which I couldn't find a replacement for since it seems they don't sell it anymore. Called them up and they said they would take a look at it, which to be fair they didn't have to, and was the case with a few other shops I called before them. Not only did they get the bolt out saving me a huge amount of hassle, they even brought it out with a new bolt that fit perfectly and saved me from going and having to find one on my own. Them going above and beyond is why I take my cars to them and will continue to do so. read more

Horrible, horrible Manager! He was condescending, rude, made me cry......only went in to have the water pump checked as I was getting evaporation, but no warning lights or leakage.....he quoted $7,000 to get everything done to keep it from "blowing up" ISD we drove it off his lot. I went to Affordable Automotive when Edmund owned it before this scam place bought him out. Yay moved to Rowlett and before I took my Expedition in I called there to make an appt and during the conversation I asked if Edmund was still there and owned it because this new guy was rude to me. He told me yes. Turns out Edmund sold to them several years ago...and this jerk told me he still owned but it was always Drive now, time, by whatever the name is and they were just updating their signs now...that Edmund never owned it they did and Edmund was lying if he said he did. We went back in to get it to take to the dealer where I just purchased it and he again said if we drove it off his lot it would blow up. Being 3 older women, he scared us so we called AAA towing service to come meet us to tie it. He had it up in a rack in the air until we paid him almost $300. $140 to look at the water pump and $140 to inspect the drivers window that won't roll down when you push the button....$140 for pushing a button. He then made me cry by badmouthing our dealer and said we should leave it right where it is and if I would stop interrupting him by saying no he could talk....after he made a really cruel face and I walked out and let my sister handle. We asked my nephew to go in the day before and see what in the $7000 estimate we could put iff for a little while - like tires in Nov. and he said it was all safety-related and should only do all at once and not drive off the lot. He told us he gave my nephew the estimate and asked him to leave because he was "drilling" him about the repair list item by item! My nephew said no he didn't and he quoted him, without any prices in the estimate...$5800... why had it suddenly gone down by $1200?? He told me I. The phone last Wednesday that the dealer's maximum coverage insurance had to send out an estimator and it would be three weeks sitting at his shop if we waited from them, so I should just get it all done. When the AAA tow truck driver arrived, he saw my crying and said come on let's go in there. The second it was not three old women in from of him the manager got really friendly and stopped badgering us. Surprise Surprise.... He gave the AAA driver my keys and says you can drive it now we'll take it off the rack..."it's fine to drive"!!!! What happened to it will blow up??? We took it to our dealer and they said they do not send estimators out .... Their approved dealers scan the estimate and the office tells them what of it is covered. Lied to over and over and over again to get $7000 out of three old ladies. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES HERE EVER!!!!! ESPECIALLY if you are in a protected category or two ... like OLDER and a WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Came here for the check engine light recommendation from the next door O'reilys scanner. Again, this guy at the counter says you can't rely on those scanners. It's as if those scanners serve no purpose in life other than to lie to people. This guy is a total fraud. He supposedly fixed the part the code referred him to fix and yet two weeks later, the light is on again. He now tells me it's a $150 diagnostic charge in addition to whatever problem they find. I will take it to the dealership before I ever give another penny to this place. The owner or whomever the idiot is at the front counter can close up shop, your attitude and business can go elsewhere for all I'm concerned. Fire this guy. Take your money and go somewhere else. read more

This is for the location in Little Elm on FM 423. I called last Thursday 5/19/2022 and spoke with a guy I told him that my check engine light came on so I took it to the auto parts store for a free scan for any trouble codes. The guy said "those places use $50.00 scanners, we can't go by that" which I understood, but not his tone. I gave him the trouble code, and he said he would call me back with an estimate. Oh, and he didn't ask for my phone number or repeat it back if he has caller ID. It's Monday 5/23/22 and I was still waiting on a call. So I decided to show up at the shop this afternoon and told him my issue. It was the same voice from Thursday and he made the same auto parts cheap scanner reference. He asked if I knew which side the speed sensor was on, to which I replied, "it's not the wheel, it's the transmission" and in that same snarky tone from Thursday, he said, "then you should take your car to a transmission shop". I thought, with his attitude I will not give my business to this place. I turned and walked out and literally drove two doors down to the next auto repair shop and they repaired my car. By the way, the auto shop's diagnostic report gave the trouble codes or results on my car as the "cheap scanner" from the auto parts store. It was exactly the same issue as described by the auto parts store. If that guy is as rude to others as he was to me, they are losing business. I can say that as a fact because Driver's Edge/Affordable Automotive lost mine. read more
