This was refreshing because usually the people at the garage will be vague and use vernacular that someone who doesn't know cars won't be able to call them out on. The service was fast and straight forward. The manager was very knowledgeable and helpful to the point where he fixed my hood latch for free. I've been coming to this place 15+ years or so, but after today I won't be coming back anytime soon. Pulled up to get an oil change and got looked at by one mechanic like I was at fault for being there, strike one. Waited about 7 minutes, during which time 4 other employees looked me in the eye but never came to check me in, strike two. They were real quick to help the woman in the Mercedes that pulled up AFTER I waited, strike 3. My family has 3 vehicles that we regularly brought here. My wife brought her car here for a state inspection. They failed the vehicle, and told my wife that her front brake pads were almost to the wear bars. They told her that she could take the car to have the pads replaced (either at another business, or personally), and bring the car back within 15 days for them to reinspect without additional charges. The other option they presented to her was for them to replace the front pads, and while they're at it, replace the rear pads too (because they had "only about 10% life remaining"). They told her it would be able $99 plus taxes, and so she agreed to have them replace the pads while she waited. Fast forward 3 hours, they tell her she is ready to checkout. My wife walks up to the counter, and is presented with a bill for $1,099. They not only changed the pads, but also the rotors, and even performed a brake fluid exchange! My wife was shocked, and immediately rebutted the bill, as she did not authorize all of this work. She spoke with the service advisor/technician that worked on her car, and he assured her that he had told her that all of the work performed was recommended, and that she had okayed it. My wife, unable to gain any kind of recourse for this classic case of take-advantage-of-women-who-don't-know-cars, called me and told me what happened. I drove to the store to voice my displeasure, and attempt to come to some sort of a resolution. Once I arrived, I walked into the lobby and greeted the young lady at the desk, telling her that I'd like to speak to the person who told my wife she needed a $1,000+ brake job. She goes and retrieves the gentleman, and with him is the assistant manager. The technician proceeds to explain that he did tell my wife that she needed all of the services that were performed. Classic he-said-she-said. I asked him if he gave her any pricing or an estimate, and did he measure the rotors to confirm that they needed to be replaced (I knew the pads needed to be replaced). He replied that he did not measure the rotors, but that they had wear markings on them and they were recommended to be replaced. He also said that he didn't provide an estimate, but instead verbally told my wife the general cost. After a few back-and-forths, the technician walks out in frustration. The assistant manager tells me that he'd like to help us out, so that we're happy. He offered to give us the rotors for free, and just charge us for the pads, fluid swap, and inspection - totaling $530. We agreed, and left. This place would be getting 1 star, but only because of the assistant manager's calm professionalism and willingness to right a wrong, am I giving them 2 stars. Beware of these shady business tactics, and always get an estimate in black-and-white! Not recommended, obviously. PS. They tried the same tactics on 3 other customers while my wife was there. read more

When I asked how much longer it would be for the quote ; the man at the front desk glanced ONCE over his shoulder and had informed me that ANOTHER worker was getting prices still .. No worries , but after I was finally given my quotes and found that it was cheaper somewhere else , the man who gave me my quote said "okay" then walked outside and started talking with another customer for 5 more minutes without giving me my car... He was apparently very upset with me about it , because when he brought it around to the front he whipped my car around the corner so hard my new CarPlay radio flew off my passenger seat and ended up upside down on the floor ... I guess I should also say that while he burned rubber around the corner of the building to bring it back to me , I was there for a quote on my BRAKES AND ROTORS . Beware - Complete Rip Off! My daughter took her car there to get inspected and they said it wouldn't pass cause the belt had cracks in it and needed to be replace before they could pass it. They were going to charge her $280 for the belt (cost so much cause it's a VW) plus labor. THANK GOD she called me before having it done. This is the worst auto repair shop I've ever been to by far. I first arrived for a minor issue and they charge me for a computer read and said it was oxygen sensor. Over four visits my vehicle ran worse and worse and different each time. I never really knew honestly what they were doing to it but it wasn't good. All with a smile on their face and very polite they blatantly lied to me. This last and final time they had the audacity to tell me that I was probably ruining my engine because I wasn't letting it warm up for 15 minutes prior to driving. Oh, did I forget to mention when they attempted to clean my mass airflow sensor which was new that they never reconnected it which really messed up my vehicle. And every time I went in they passed me off on someone else, the third time I was in for the same problem they admitted their lead mechanic had vanished and nobody knew where he was for the past 10 days so Larry and Moe pretty much were working on it. You hear so many stories of mechanics taking advantage of people and this is exactly what I experienced at this location. RUN!!! read more

We took our car in for oil change and inspection. First, they charged us for the most expensive oil change without asking if that was what we want. I saw another customer, who said to them he wanted a regular oil change, charged for a synthetic oil change and they just said "oops, I forgot. Do you want a coupon?" Big red flags. We were charged $175 for oil change and inspection. THEN they rolled down ALL our windows and 1 would not go up. We asked them to fix it and the manager proceeded to call the police on US for not leaving. They told the cops " maybe we can fix it in a few days. We don't have time now" So, it's 105 degrees. I live in an apartment and there sits my car with a window that won't roll up because, apparently, they had to play with my windows for an oil change and inspection. Horrible manager attitude. This place is a total rip off. 1st of all day overprice . 2nd of all I took my car there to get an air conditioning diagnostic and they said in was the condenser it turns out it was the air compressorThey did not want to take liability for a wrongful diagnostic instead they wanted me to pay half for the labor to replace the air compressor because I had already purchased it as well. I came in and asked for a state inspection and was kindly greeted. I like the service, I really do. But we are in the middle of a pandemic. The man who greeted me was wearing a mask. I appreciate that. The man who was inspecting my car, was in and out of it without wearing a mask. I know you probably think working outside is enough for you not to get it, sir. But the reality is, there is always a risk and it's unfair to me as a paying customer to not follow the rules and state wide ordinance as I am doing. I have always been weary of the "chain style" car repair and lube shops, nonetheless I needed a, let's say, urgent alignment for my car. Usually at an authentic mom and pop shop, an alignment can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours in my experience. Kwik Kar stated that it would take them an hour, which made me a bit uneasy, but I went for it. I went to walk around a local store in the meantime. Fast forward about 45 minutes. I received a cal letting me know my car was finished. As I arrived I noticed that my car was sitting in the exact same parking spot, at the same slightly crooked angle that I parked it in. Maybe it's me being paranoid about these sorts of places, but I digress. I went inside, nervously paid for my alignment and proceeded back to my car. Upon getting in, I noticed my steering wheel was still sitting at the same angle it was when I left it, a definite sign that no alignment has been done. I gave Kwik Kar the benefit of the doubt however. I started my car and pulled out into the street, and eventually onto the highway. I immediately noticed the same pulling to one side as I did before. At this moment I grew quite frustrated. Still trying to think logically during my moments of anger, I searched high and low for a family shop to take a look at my car, found one 45 minutes from where I started, and let them know the situation. I waited for 3 hours, as expected. To rapidly conclude this lengthy review, I was told that based on the state of the alignment I had upon entering, it seems as if Kwik Kar employees never as much as laid a finger on my car. We have been getting our oil Changed at this location for at least 3 years and had been very pleased with the service in the past. Yesterday, my wife went in for an oil change and the technician told her that she needed new front brakes. Interestingly enough, I personally replaced the brakes and rotors on the vehicle about 1 month ago, so I'm very confident that it does not need brakes. The technician pointed out the "excessive Brake dust" on the wheel, as the reason the brakes needed to be changed. When my wife told the technician that she believed that the brakes had just been changed, he told her that he didn't have any record of the brakes being changed, so they absolutely needed to be done, since the vehicle has greater than 70k miles on it. I have no patience for repair facilities that try to perform maintenance that is not needed, or when they sell you filters that don't need replaced. Honestly, I think this locations is under new management, because they've never tried to pull that on us in the past. Needless to say, I'm not sure that we will continue using this Kwik Kar location, at the very least, I won't trust what they tell me. I used to refer people to this location all the time, but will not in the future. read more

I will never use this company again. I brought my car in for brakes and alignment and left with my tire about to fall off. I ended up having to pay for another place to fix what they messed up. It cost me almost $600 to fix there mistakes. The manager Michael said he would give me a refund, and then changed his mind when I got there. He refunded me for the alignment only. He said he is not going to give me free brakes! He didnt even include the tax in the refund. I pulled in there and asked one of the guys if he could check my tire pressure because I didn't have any money and needed to drive all the way to McKinney. He said sure... pull it in. he hooked my car up to some machine and checked all four tires. He filled the one that was low and I was on my way. I have been going to this location for years for all of our vehicles and have had good service. Today I had the worst service that I have ever had at an oil change location. The manager was even rude. They just lost a customer for life. Do not for any reason go to this location. Rudeness and slow service should not be rewarded. The employee that was directing me to pull into the lane did not say a word to me. He just waved for me to move forward and then put his hand up for me to stop. Then he starts pointing both of his fingers down with his hands raised up. I don.t know what that means. I poked my head out of my window and asked what does that mean. He said back up. He is the one that had me stop where I stopped. He poked his head around and said "Oil Change" and I said oil change and state inspection. All he did was mutter. I got out of my van and was pulling out my insurance card and he just pointed for me to leave it in the dash. He did not say a word. I went into the waiting room and just waited. I was in there for at least 40 minutes with no other customers. Who I found out later was the manager kept coming in to check something on the computer and the employee also did the same thing. They never said a single word to me. Finally after 3 other customers were there and they checked out one of them the manager came in and said "Chrysler?" I asked what he said and he said "Chrysler" I said Town and Country and he said yes. He told me your heater is leaking. I said ok. He said it is leaking all in the dash. He did not say anything else. I said how much and how long? He said a thousand dollars and 6 hours. I told him I would get my mechanic to take care of it. I asked if the car was ready and he told me that I needed to get it fixed. I told him I just want my van. Is it ready? He said "I don't know what it going on with you" I told him that I am a very patient person but you and your employee are being rude. I have been waiting here for a long time and nobody gave me any kind of update. He said that we have 9 inspections. I told him that I did not know that. He said "Did you ask?" I told him that I shouldn't have to. I told him that I do not appreciate you being rude and your employee and I explained to him how his employee was just muttering. I then asked for the manager and he said he was the manager. I told him that he sucked. I just want my van. Is it ready? He finally said yes. I told him that I just want to pay out and that I will never come back here again. I am a very patient person. Do not let businesses treat you disrespectfully. They always clean the interior during an oil change and they are always very prompt. PROVIDED FAULTY WORK AND DID NOT WORK TO CORRECT IN A ETHICAL MANNER. We has work done and assumed it was done correctly and left out of state. Once we arrived at our destination with leaking oil and no measurable oil in the vehicle. Contacted them and requested instructions since we was out of town, to be instructed to have another shop review to see if it was a simple fix or a different issue. Oil was to even take to the other shop. Other shop discovered it was leaking at the spot of the repair. We provided quotes and photos per their request to them. When contacting Kwik car for further direction, I was told by the manager that the owner would like to speak with us about the situation. I never received any contact from owner. After several calls to Kwik Kar I was told to bring the car back to their location for repair. Informed them again that we was 4 hours away, obviously driving the car loosing oil to the point of empty could damage the motor and ask if they would pay for tow to which manager replied he could not authorize but would ask owner. It seems that Kwik Kar would rather damage an engine or put a senior citizen in danger than owning up to its mistakes. The owner never replied to request or contact us to see if there could be other options. To insure that the vehicle and driver was safe to travel we had repairs done at a shop where we was now stranded due to faulty work by Kwik Kar. I again asked that they look into the situation and warranty policy's since damage was discovered once out of town and extenuating circumstances. Now we have paid over $900 to Kwik Kar and then almost another $500 to another shop to fix what Kwik Kar messed up. All we asked was that Kwik Kar pay for the repairs that had to be done out of town or the tow to their location to be fixed prior to repairs. Why would you ask for quotes and photos if you are not going to work with your customers. Why would you give a senior adult false hope. Kwik Kar is now stating They are holding fast they will not pay for either. read more
