It's sad how Mesquite Officials ran Danny's out of Mesquite because they didn't fit the narrative they want in that area. I didn't agree with their pricing a lot of times but they have quality work for the value for the neighborhood. I took my 2014 Ford F-150 to Dannys for a 2 opinion .The first shop Auto sense in Mesquite they said I needed a new timing chain at a cost of 1800 and if they got in there and saw sludge in my engine since I have over a hundred thousand miles I would need a new engine at 7000.00 dollars . THE GOOD REVIEWS ARE FAKE. THEY ARE SCAMMING. I came to the shop for a second opinion I told them what was wrong with my car. They said my car had $1650 fake issues that needed to be fixed. I told them not to touch it and they said I owe a $50 Inspection Fee. A Fee I wasnt aware of. I came to pick up my car the front desk guy was Extremely rude and told me to either get it fixed or pay the Fee. Tried to explain that I was never told about the Fee. He said he didnt talk to me the other day and this is business and there are signs around the shop. Small hidden signs that the customers cant see plus they cover them with their body in the front. Mind you the Real Legit mechanic wanted to charge me $700 but this place wanted $1650+. Left my car at the laundry mat behind the shop with the doors Unlocked. read more

I cannot say enough or heap mountains of praise on Greg and the mechanics at Danny's! My daughter was in a major pickle with her car. Error in judgement on a curb. The accident happened way back in May. She took it to another shop and that was an immediate disaster. 5 weeks later, after them giving me an estimate, if that is what you want to call it, no parts for the car had arrived, and no customer service from that place. So....I contacted Greg. He had spoken to the daughter and even he said that what was needed was very difficult to find with all the 'shortages' that are happening. I advised Greg that i have a connection with a dealership, and that the parts could be shipped directly from a dealership in Washington state, and would it be possible for them to do the work. He SAID YES! Long story short, the parts took almost 2 weeks to get to Greg, Greg called me (I actually live in Michigan) said the parts were there (Thursday), car was dropped off, and they had that car up and running and out the door for the daughter by the following day, and at a huge savings to what Shop A estimated. (and i don't mean $100.00 savings-the other shop was almost 2X what Danny's charged) Now, from 2012-2015 we used Danny's as a very reliable garage that never gave us any worries for the work they did or the high level of customer service that they provide! I don't know why I didn't think of having the daughter call Danny's to begin with. Never again! If you truly desire excellent customer service, excellent mechanics, Call Danny's and talk to Greg. It can be hard to find a good mechanic that's also honest with everyone not just men. My wife actually found Danny's and we have been taking our cars there for years now. I know a bit about cars, used to work on my own, so I can usually tell if what a mechanic says is true, to an extent of course. Cars have gotten much more complicated! Danny will tell us if something we are worried about is a needed fix it if it can wait without issue. This is almost unheard of in most shops! They do good work, for reasonable prices, and reasonable times. They even drop my wife off at work when she drops a car off! (She works fairly close by.) Can't say enough good things about Danny's! Great group of guys here. After breaking down on the side of the road, I was on my way to the nearest dealership with an expectation of $1k-$1200 in repair costs, especially since they would have to tow my car in from 20 mi away. The ONLY reason I hit Danny's up is because I Goggled car repair in Mesquite and saw all the positive reviews. After the tow, assessment, and all repair and shop fees, I got my truck back in 2 days for $430...TOTAL. I found the part alone for $200 at AutoZone. There was no upselling or telling me I needed other recommended services. They fixed what I asked and we were done. My truck has ran flawless since picking it up and Danny's now has a customer for life. read more

I've been dealing with Danny's Mesquite Car care for going on 7 years. Since I've been in Texas pretty much. Never really had an issue. The workers were cool, the owner and his wife were always respectful, as well as their son Greg. However I take my Honda Odyssey van to the shop on Thursday because my oil had completely ran out after having them do an oil change not even a full month prior. Now I wasn't blaming them for the oil problem because after all it's a van for my commercial cleaning business. And it has 193,000 miles on it. So it's time for things to start needing replaced. But runs like new. Beautiful well kept van. So I pull it to Danny's and Greg has it put on the rack. He says "Mikey says he doesn't know where to begin." It's leaking from between the transmission and motor, valve covers, and oil pan. He says "if your about to sell it today is just do a quick fix and get rid of it instead of putting a lot of money in it." He takes it off the rack and says bring it Monday. I take it straight to another shop that I deal with. The guy looks at it and in less than 2 minutes literally shows me that it's coming from the VVT. Greg wanted $460 just for the valve cover job. Once fixed I call Greg back and said "what was leaking on the van?" He repeated what he told me Thursday. I said that's weird because the VVT fixed the leak. He gets pissed and tells me he no longer wants my business... Because I decided not to let him rob me of what was gonna turnout to be a couple thousand I can guarantee. I really had to pray that I didn't revert back to my old ways. And I've sent them so much business. But never again... read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Me and my in laws took all of our vehicles including company vehicles there. Once Greg took over everything went to sh*t. He doubles an triple charges and everytime we time we got something back from him there would be a new problem that wasnt there before. He tried to charge me $800 for an oil change on a motorcycle. We asked him to fix some other things and he said he could. When we came to get it he said he couldnt do anything but the oil change but we still had to pay the labor for him to determine he was an idiot. No Sir. We took a truck to him to be fixed...the engine blew up before we got it out of his lot and he said "tough shit." Don't trust this snake. We will never be back there. read more

On August 11th, 8 months after installation, at 9:30 at night on US21, 30 miles east of IH35 and Austin, the rear drive shaft dropped out of the truck. I pulled over and looked under the truck and saw the rear drive shaft missing. I called the mechanic shop the next business day and talked with Greg. I explained what had happened. His very first question to me was asking if I had a dash cam and could I prove I didn't hit anything that might have caused the drive shaft to fail and drop out of the truck? I said no I had no dash cam but assured him I hit nothing and was on dry pavement at the time. He told me he got calls every few months from customers with some "fantastic" story about something his shop did wrong and how could he believe me when I was telling him the same kind of story. I told him I didn't care what other customers called him about. I had a drive shaft in my truck for more than 150K miles and this was in for less than 10K miles. He owed me a drive shaft. I had to go to Dallas the next day so I took the parts that were left on the rear end and by the carrier bearing as well as the drive shaft to him that next morning. I went to the shop the next morning and spoke with Greg in person again. Then I find out that the drive shaft repair shop, a third party vendor they used, said the u-joint that failed looked good at the time and so wasn't replaced. I asked how that was possible. If other u-joints are going bad then it follows that these that were not replaced would be going the same way as well. I was getting very frustrated by the lack of care and concern. Just then the owner walked in and Greg cried out "Daddy, can you handle this guy. He's making me mad and I don't want to talk to him". Danny told me that he wouldn't warranty the work done because it was a 4x4 and how did he know if I had abused the new drive shaft by "bouncing over hills". He told me he would have it repaired but the cost would be $450. Then he told me I had to have the yoke that came off the drive shaft as well or it would be more. He told me the drive shaft repair shop said it was missing so more money for the repair. I was shocked. No warranty because my truck was a 4x4? Why hadn't he told me that when I asked to have the work done. The dealership, had they done the work, would have warrantied that work no matter what. He said he didn't care what a dealership would or wouldn't do and walked away, saying louder and louder there was no warranty. I got the old drive shaft back from him and left. Here's what I've found out since that day. 1. The alleged new drive shaft was the original Toyota drive shaft and this was confirmed by a service repair person at a Toyota dealership. 2. The yoke was still on the drive shaft that fell out. So it's probable that he never took the drive shaft to a third party vendor and never had it repaired by a third party My thinking is that he had a sucker that didn't know anything about trucks. He and his son told a great story that I believed. And why wouldn't I? I wouldn't walk into a hospital and diagnose someone's illness because I'm not the expert and I'm not a doctor. I went, or so I thought, to the expert. I'm no mechanic and so could do nothing except trust what I was told. So the owner and his inept and incompetent staff tried to install new u-joints into the original drive shaft, one of the most delicate and complicated jobs a mechanic can do. This description from the service staff at the Toyota dealership. No surprise it failed he told me. So what are the lessons? I won't go to this mechanic ever again and urge you, the reader, not to either. I was lied to, wasn't told the actual truth regarding the warranty of their work, treated as if I were trying to rip them off when in fact they had ripped me off to the tune of $635. And as for the 4 and 5 star ratings.... these people simply don't understand they are being over charged and ripped off for less than mediocre work. Caveat Emptor: Let the buyer beware. Beware of using this mechanic shop. read more

Had to come in to get two tires replaced.. instead of trying to up-sell me on buying two brand new tires like the other shops did, Danny was great and offered for me to come by so he could check out my tires and show me what he had in used tires. They were great and in like-perfect condition. He saved me tons of money and was super honest! Can't beat that! I had to stop by again after that to get my sensors reset, and the guys were all awesome about stopping what they were doing to help me out and take care of things so I could get on my way. These guys were amazing! They had to do a significant amount of work on my 2008 Uplander (my fuel pump had to be completely replaced). They charged a reasonable price even though they had to search down a part and could only find it from the dealer since my vehicle is no longer in production! First, I want to point out that when you are going through the process of purchasing a used vehicle, and you find a lot of things wrong with your car or truck, you can begin getting frustrated. Sometimes you wonder, is it just the mechanic? And some people take that belief to heart while the rest of us realize it's just your used . . . and it's nothing other than that. When I first entered the establishment, I was in a hurry and voiced this to Greg, who politely listened to my problems, some directly about my used 2001 Suburban while others my own personal frustration due to the bind I felt I was in. The atmosphere is so polite and professional, that by the time I had been there 30 minutes and heard 4 other customers complain about being in a hurry while first showing up. I felt Greg or his Dad Danny should probably be given a medal for how well they handle everybody and their needs at the moment. Then I want to point out that I had my truck worked on and it is my second vehicle I have let them check up and I can tell you after having a different shop in a different state(N.M.) pull some hustle's on me where he would charge me full price for new parts and simply goto the junk yard or even just say he fixed it, take payment and another mechanic later told me no work or what I had paid for had never been done.... to say the least I am a skeptical person. I have been through a few things. So to find a shop I can feel comfortable with and know they are going to do right, well, it's a BIG relief. Excellent service every time! We took our BMW Z4 Roadster to the BMW dealership in Plano because the convertible top stopped working. BMW told us the motor had gone out and it would cost $3500-3800 to replace it. We took it to Danny's for a second opinion and they checked fuses, convertible top motor, and could not find a problem with either. Danny's suggested it could be the micro-switch...and they were correct! We bought the $40 part on Parts Geek and replaced it ourselves. Danny's has saved us thousands on our BMW! These guys know what they are going under the hood. It's also a family owned business run by a father and son. I started going here when I bought my first car. They fixed it all up for me in record time, and I have had no problems with any of those fixes. They are also a bit cheaper than some places, but even if somewhere will charge me less for the same job, i'd much rather give them the business. From what I can tell, they try to have the same mechanic work on your car each time you bring it in. I like this since it means I have someone who is familiar with my car do my repairs.
