I experienced a problem with my thermostat in my home a (no power to the unit), after having done the DIY troubleshooting (Breaker and GFI check) I was at my wits end. I did what I always do and checked YELP for reputable electricians in my area. I called and left a message with SV Electric. James called me back and after explaining my issue he suggested I contact an HVAC company since my issue related to air and heating, However prior to terminating the conversation he added that it sounded like a fuse issue since the thermostat ran on low voltage, he suggested I check that prior to having someone come out, for safety he added that I should cut the power prior to replacing the fuse if it was blown. Sure enough that was the issue and I resolved it in 15 minutes. This type of service is a throwback to eons ago when the customer came first and people took the time to help a customer even if they got no financial benefit from the transaction. No question that if I ever have any need for a electrician they will be my go to!!!!!!!

That cost them $151.00! They could not figure out what they did wrong so their electrician had to divert electricity from behind the refrigerator to another outlet. Hence the refrigerator outlet is not working. They did not fix the outlet in the rear of the residence. Luckily I noticed the cobwebs proving that fixture was not fixed. They had to return to fix that outlet. Watt Electric was not there for the inspection by the city not once twice but three times. When I complained to them of the above they apologized! When I first inquired, Tim (the owner) reached out and scheduled a consultation/evaluation of my existing system for the following day. He arrived on time, was professional and very knowledgeable. He sent me over a couple different proposals that he believed would be best for me and my usage. I reached out to competing companies to test the market and one company found out that I was on a different NEM standard than we previously thought. This discovery made me second guess getting solar for the time being. I reached out to Tim and he said that he estimated I would still need to upgrade but that I could give it a few months to see how my energy bills were in the winter and early spring. To say he was right was an understatement! My bills went from $60 to over $300 some months. Now that I knew that adding to my system was worth it and had more information, I reached back out to Tim. He didn't miss a beat in suggesting a system that maximized my output and didn't break the bank. (Mind you, he spent hours going back and forth with me answering questions and concerns I had) Ultimately, I chose to go with Tim because of his expertise (he was an electrician prior to starting Golden State Solar), professionalism, customer service and honesty. He never pushed me to make a decision and gave me multiple options that he believed were best. The permit and installation process were painless and completed within a couple months (mostly waiting for the permit). The system drastically increased my solar output and I couldn't be more happy with my choice to go with Golden State Solar!

The reason I chose to go with Mark was because he was such a careful, thorough communicator. He explained a lot about the project and what it required. And I really had very little understanding of what it took. Other electricians that I got quotes from were generally kind and all but one showed up to provide a quote when they said they would. But Mark's communication skills and demeanor, coupled with the price he gave me, were unbeatable. Of course the proof is in the pudding. And Mark's team did an amazing, professional job. The installation was so clean and well done. And they tidied up after themselves, leaving the whole place better than how it looked when they arrived. I highly recommend Tegenkamp Electric. Count on them to be honest, provide a fair price, and do a great job. Bravo!
