Quick and easy! Great price. Less than half for topsoil than a few of the big nurseries!

We love Anderson's. Like... an unreasonable amount. This is not a "run in for mulch and leave"…read moreplace -- this is a wander, get distracted, and somehow leave with six things you didn't plan to buy kind of place. The plant selection is always solid, the staff actually know what they're talking about, and everything is laid out in a way that doesn't make you feel like you're in a horticulture obstacle course. Whether you're looking for houseplants, seasonal flowers, shrubs, or that one specific thing you saw on Pinterest and are now emotionally invested in, they usually have it. The real danger is the home and garden decor section. Pots, signs, random charming things you didn't know you needed, it's a trap, and I fall for it every time. Zero regrets. The summer events are genuinely fun, not cheesy or thrown together. The putt-putt is a hit every time and makes this an easy "bring the kids / bring visitors / kill an hour in a pleasant way" stop. It turns a garden center trip into an actual outing It's clean, well organized, and just... pleasant. No chaos, no weird vibes, no dying plants looking sad in the corner. It's one of those places where you can tell they actually care about what they're selling. If you're in VB and into plants even a little, this place is a no-brainer. We go out of our way to come here, and it's always worth it. Sage Kitchen is on site and is its own little slice of heaven if you're into pressed sandwiches and kettle chips but sometimes it's nice to just grab something on the go on a warm spring evening. I can't wait to go back.

A 5 star experience for a recent Mother's Day arrangement of flowers…read more There is no day like Mother's Day and making it special for Mom. So the idea of a permanent planted arrangement seemed like something perfect for the patio. McDonald's was contacted over the phone a week + out before Mother's Day. I worked with Patrice who emailed different ideas they could do from pots to plants etc. He was so passionate about his trade and left me even more excited that he alone would be the point. Ultimately hydrangeas was chosen as the plant with sweet potatoes. They had many pots to choose from, but a more neutral with a butterfly seemed perfect. The cost was $97. Patrice assured that the plant would be watered and ready for pick up days before Mother's Day. On Saturday I went to McDonald's and after locating Patrice he rolled the plant out. I must say I was overwhelmed with the size. It was huge and gorgeous! Patrice did a video of care instructions as he took ownership of seeing everything through. He also at no charge through in a ceramic tray to hep with transport, but also for any leakage of water with a weep hole at the bottom. The delivery was marvelous and enjoyed by Mom. I cannot say enough positive about this experience. Other staff assisted me and were helpful and enthusiastic about their job. You just don't see this in other big box places ole Lowes and Home Depot. McDonald's is a one stop locally owned since 1947 garden center. They can do it all and the visit is impressive to see the selections. Highly recommend.

The front of the store is primarily retail - lots of cool gift ideas, planters, seeds and, of course, established plants. The back is where the fun happens - several tables set up with everything you need to design your own terrariums. Before selecting our vessels and plants, we were given brief instructions. You don't have to worry about remembering everything because you will be able to access all of the instructions online to reference at a later date. Depending on your selection - succulents or air plants - your care instructions will vary. We were allowed to choose three air plants or two succulents to craft our terrariums. On each table were items to decorate. Pricing will depend on the vase or vessel you choose. I've done this one time previously and I thought the prices were pretty comparable and not overly expensive. I ended up selecting air plants and also took home a discounted potted plant and planter. This is such a beautiful store to browse in, even if you don't want to craft a plant-masterpiece. The staff was very helpful - even assisting with packaging our plants baby so they could travel home safely. I loved this experience and plan to return soon!
