I generally like their products and plants, but I can't stand false advertising. Like many others, they sell bulk mulch, but their dyed mulch is advertised as cypress wood. It isn't. It is made either partially or fully from ground up wooden shipping pallets which can range from untreated to highly treated wood. I've pulled out noticeable chunks of pallet wood that wasn't ground up enough and stood out. Recycling such wood is a great idea and I will continue to use it as the price is fine, but don't claim the wood is something it is not. As far as price goes, would they have to sell it cheaper if it were not advertised as cypress mulch? read more

Went to nursery looking for a Japanese maple tree to plant in our front yard. Upon arriving to the nursery you can tell that the plants are well taken care of and looked healthy. Due to COVID customers are not allowed inside the office area, if you need assistance someone will come outside , and when you are checking out you remain outside while the employee processes your card information. I had a couple of questions regarding the different types of trees available to purchase & their varying price points. The more mature the tree the more expensive. The lady that assisted me wasn't the nicest when explaining the different breeds, and seemed kind of short with me. After checking out she gave we planting instructions and a gentleman helped carry the tree to my car. I purchased a more mature tree so my total after tax was $289. But they have smaller Japanese maples that start around $80-$90. We have had the tree planted for about two weeks now and it seems to be healthy! I would return to purchase more plants or trees. Only took one star away due to the staff member not seeming to want to help with questions regarding information about trees. read more

So bless my stupid heart and all the patience these ladies had with me. It's been a long long long time since I hauled gravel and it was always just riding along with dad, so I had NO idea just how much a yard of gravel (or mulch) for that matter was. So I go be-boppin in there thinkin I'm gonna get all my gravel and mulch in one run with my one lil truck. The gal behind the counter was so sweet (when she justifiably could've called me a moron) and delicately explained I had about enough room for a yard of mulch and that was it (I need 2.5x more than that) on this run. They were seriously very helpful and you can tell that guy driving the front-loader has been doing it for a while, he's got skills. Super happy to have found this place and you betcha I'll be back for my several more loads of yard needs. read more

I love the people who work here they're so helpful. Also as a veteran they provide a 10% discount off pricing with I.D. Last year late in the season when I was looking to re-work my front garden beds they ordered several shrubs for me that were out of season. Additionally I lost a young Japanese Maple Tree that had been put in the year before by a landscaper and I went here and talked to the manager about ordering me a specific type and shape replacement. She called their wholesale nursery the next day and had exactly what I wanted shipped in. Highly recommend for your needs. Don't let the smaller size fool you. BYOB, that's right, bring your own bucket. We have been doing some landscaping projects around the house and have need things like stone dust, slate, sand. The big box stores don't carry stone dust and are all currently out of slate. At this family owned nursery it's sold by the pound, that's right a quarter will get you a pound of most stone items they sell. Their radio wagons have tare weight on them and a large Lowes bucket weights 2 pounds. Put your buckets on the wagons, fill them up and pull it over to the scale. Can't be any easier than that. And they are open on Sundays. Very friendly people all over the place to help you out. They also sell plants and trees as well as mulch. read more

I have gotten plants from them many times and I love the service and the quality of the plants. This time I got topsoil delivered and although I don't have anyone to compare them to, I want to give them a superlative rating. The dirt is lovely, the delivery was timely and the driver, David, was great! I feel he really went above and beyond for me and would welcome him again when I reorder... and I will definitely reorder, my garden is larger than I thought, LOL! I had placed an order for small rocks that looked like Raquette ball to baseball size. When it showed up a lot of it was gravel and I found big pieces of concrete that looked awful. read more

You will really like this place for your gardening needs. The nursery is not huge but has a nice assortment of small plants to trees and everything in between. If there is a particular plant that they don't have at the moment they will do their best to get it ordered for you or let you know when it comes in. The customer service is excellent. They will take time to answer any gardening question that you may have. They are also very courteous and helpful. One positive that stands out that some other nurseries don't have is a 1 year warranty. This place has this which a great asset. Home Depot and Lowe's are other businesses that I know about that have a 1 year warranty also. read more

I have been a client for 10 years until today. I don't own a business, it is just for my home. I have spend thousands of dollars at your nursery; however, today you lost my business and anyone who I used to recommend to go to your nursery. I had with me my husband, which can't lift more than 10 pounds due to a heart attack, and we picked our own rocks and brought them to get their weight, just for you to tell us that you will charge us by the pound instead of the scoop, because we picked them up ourselves instead of the machine throwing the rocks in the back of our truck and messing up our paint, I even offer to pay for the whole scoop, even though we were only getting half. Today, you may be busy, too busy to help and consider a little costumer like me, but maybe tomorrow it may be different...when you do things like this and you treat clients like this, you lose any other clients that will hear from me, and down the line someone else will offer you the same kind of nasty service you offered to me today. Four Seasons Nursery has been our go-to spot for trailer loads of mulch, compost, etc and we always stop in throughout the year for various needs whether it's hay bales for Halloween decor, plants, etc.. They are super knowledgeable about treating various garden or tree diseases and have a nice variety of garden decor in the back. The only issue I've ever had is summer of 2021. My husband purchased $70+ worth of cedar mulch. When he got home, it looked like small chewed up pieces and we decided it just wouldn't look right in our flower beds so we took it back to exchange for our normal dark hardwood mulch. They were absolutely fine doing this and my husband even brought his own shovel to help the guy get the cedar mulch off our trailer bed. The problem I realized a few weeks later when balancing our account is that they never actually reimbursed the cedar mulch. She said they were switching over payment systems so I guess it wasn't done correctly. I called several times but the particular manager I needed to speak to happened to never be there when I called. We went up there. They took a written message down with the copy of my receipts... wrote down what the issue was on the paper in front of me. She did indeed call back and left a message with me... didn't fix the problem as laid out to her but did call. Unfortunately this was at a time when my husband was experiencing some sudden serious health issues where we were in and out of the hospital. This was going on for about a month so after life started getting back to normal, we decided it was just too damned late to try and get a resolution. It sucks losing money but... it is what it is. We've still purchased from then since including mulch again at the end of March 2022. Just beware if you need a refund on anything is all I can say. Hopefully they have the new payment/accounting system in better order by now. They're an excellent business otherwise. read more

We have been here twice and both experiences were great. The employees are very helpful and attentive. We are new to gardening and all the employees seemed happy to answer our many questions about various plants. We ended up ordering a couple yards of rocks to be delivered. The ordering process was very easy and they were able to deliver within a few days. The delivery driver was on time and very courteous. We will definitely be heading back out to Four Seasons to get more plants! read more

I just finished putting down 6 yards of red mulch that was delivered on Saturday. I have to say that I am really pleased with the quality of this mulch. What I received from Four Seasons was a great looking red mulch that was ground and shredded much finer that what I had received from other companies that had delivered mulch containing larger chopped pieces of hardwood. The rain that we had last night did not float away mulch pieces as normally happens, so it appears that the finer pieces stay in place better that the larger chunks. Also I do not see a red wash off of the red dye. The mulch was delivered exactly as scheduled. I will use Four Seasons from now on even though they are further than my previous supplier. read more
