Japanese maple tree
Sydney H.

Went to nursery looking for a Japanese maple tree to plant in our front yard. Upon arriving to the nursery you can tell that the plants are well taken care of and looked healthy. Due to COVID customers are not allowed inside the office area, if you need assistance someone will come outside , and when you are checking out you remain outside while the employee processes your card information. I had a couple of questions regarding the different types of trees available to purchase & their varying price points. The more mature the tree the more expensive. The lady that assisted me wasn't the nicest when explaining the different breeds, and seemed kind of short with me. After checking out she gave we planting instructions and a gentleman helped carry the tree to my car. I purchased a more mature tree so my total after tax was $289. But they have smaller Japanese maples that start around $80-$90. We have had the tree planted for about two weeks now and it seems to be healthy! I would return to purchase more plants or trees. Only took one star away due to the staff member not seeming to want to help with questions regarding information about trees.

BYOB, that's right, bring your own bucket. We have been doing some landscaping projects around the house and have need things like stone dust, slate, sand. The big box stores don't carry stone dust and are all currently out of slate. At this family owned nursery it's sold by the pound, that's right a quarter will get you a pound of most stone items they sell. Their radio wagons have tare weight on them and a large Lowes bucket weights 2 pounds. Put your buckets on the wagons, fill them up and pull it over to the scale. Can't be any easier than that. And they are open on Sundays. Very friendly people all over the place to help you out. They also sell plants and trees as well as mulch.

That stone that is at the top is what I was expecting, and more gravel than rocks showed up.

I never did catch the name of the gentleman that assisted me out but he told me to try what I have at home first (as not to waste money) which is Neem Oil and if that didn't work, come back and he'd guide me to the best products. I also wanted to purchase some diatomaceous earth but they were completely sold out. That was ok as I was told they would get a shipment first thing tomorrow...so today I'll head on back. Just in case you didn't know...it's a store that specializes in lawn, garden, cattle, horse, livestock and pets. Unless I'm mistaken, they also groom dogs...but I'll check up on that when I pick up my dicatomaceous earth. It also sells bird seed cheaper than any place I've found. Very knowledgeable and super friendly staff and business.

My only problem really is that I have a product that I cannot use. And will not use, but if losing a customer over $4 is your way of doing business. I'm sorry for you but I will not ever ever patronized at this store. I know that I made the mistake but not being able to correct. It doesn't make sense to me mind you. There are several signs in the store that says discounted items or marked down items are not refundable. But there's nothing in the store. Nor on my receipt that says that my item cannot be returned.

A 5 star experience for a recent Mother's Day arrangement of flowers…read more There is no day like Mother's Day and making it special for Mom. So the idea of a permanent planted arrangement seemed like something perfect for the patio. McDonald's was contacted over the phone a week + out before Mother's Day. I worked with Patrice who emailed different ideas they could do from pots to plants etc. He was so passionate about his trade and left me even more excited that he alone would be the point. Ultimately hydrangeas was chosen as the plant with sweet potatoes. They had many pots to choose from, but a more neutral with a butterfly seemed perfect. The cost was $97. Patrice assured that the plant would be watered and ready for pick up days before Mother's Day. On Saturday I went to McDonald's and after locating Patrice he rolled the plant out. I must say I was overwhelmed with the size. It was huge and gorgeous! Patrice did a video of care instructions as he took ownership of seeing everything through. He also at no charge through in a ceramic tray to hep with transport, but also for any leakage of water with a weep hole at the bottom. The delivery was marvelous and enjoyed by Mom. I cannot say enough positive about this experience. Other staff assisted me and were helpful and enthusiastic about their job. You just don't see this in other big box places ole Lowes and Home Depot. McDonald's is a one stop locally owned since 1947 garden center. They can do it all and the visit is impressive to see the selections. Highly recommend.

I've gotten materials here on multiple occasions. Great experience awesome support, great pricing…read moreand I was in and out very quickly.

This is my second delivery from Tri-City Materials, for the same kind of stone (River Rock). I…read morethought the first load was light, meaning that I didn't the full 2 yards I ordered and paid for. I mentioned this to the lady at the stone yard's ordering window, when I placed the second order. I also confirmed how many bucket scoops of each kind of bucket I could expect and took pictures of the buckets. When the driver arrived, the load looked to be 2 yards. However, when he proceeded to dump, I could tell that the load wasn't quite right, but figured I could work with it. This delivery was so filled with clay that I had to quadruple my work by loading the stone in the wheelbarrow and rinsing it several times, before placing it. I guess they made sure I got my 2 yards of material, even if the same amount of stone was the same as the first load. Overall, the ordering process was straight forward, the delivery came when they said it would, the driver was extremely courteous (he called me "Sir" a whole lot), and the cleaned stone was the proper size. I'll let you be the judge on if my assessment is accurate or inaccurate, based on the attached images. If possible, I would say you should try to be there when they are loading up, if you can swing it and coordinate it with them. My recommendation is Buyer Beware. UPDATE 14AUG2023 The is a re-post of the update I also made on my Google review. I contacted the company as requested. I said that the Load Master should have caught the heavy clay issue, especially since it would have likely required multiple buckets. I was told that the stone on rare occasions is not sufficiently cleaned before leaving the sourcing rock yard. The rep said that they also run the loader and that they agreed with me and would meet with whoever loaded mine to discuss. I got the genuine impression from the rep I talked to that this was an deviation from how they do business and somebody went off script. I received a refund for 1/2 of my order (they did this on their own with no prompting from me) ,and the process was straight forward and smooth. Based on the consideration I received and swiftness of action, I have changed my rating from 2 to 4 stars.
