I am writing to formally request a refund for a tree purchase, including delivery and planting services; that I paid for on 4/10/2026. ($559.13). Reference number #S103871 To date, I have not received the tree or the services that were paid for. Despite numerous attempts to resolve this issue, including three in-person visits to the store and seven phone messages, I have not received a response or any resolution. At this point, I am requesting a full refund of the total amount paid, including labor, delivery and planting charges. Please process this refund within 2-3 days, if not immediately. If I do not receive a refund within this timeframe, I will be forced to pursue further action, which will include filing complaints with consumer protection agencies, disputing the charge with my bank and legal action. We stopped by Carter's Corner to pick up a Christmas tree because as Mariah Carey said: It's tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime. The nursey has a pretty decent selection of trees, which started around $75. Upon arriving at the 'corner', someone greeted us within a couple of minutes, gave us some recommendations, and gave us our space to make our selection. The Christmas tree attendant loaded up the tree on our car, and we were on our way. I gotta say that our Christmas tree excursion was pretty easy breezy. Love the place!!! The have both outdoor and indoor plants! Herbs...veggies. Even fresh produce! The have all your planting needs inside as well. Easy entrances! Parking might be a little tight but you're more than welcome to park on the side street and outside their entrance. My 3yo always requests to go in here and buy a new plant. I bought some rocks from here and hired them to lay them out for me. The lady that took my order miscalculated how many rocks I would need and I was very short for the work that I needed. Patrick was amazing he offered suggestions on how we can close the gap and went back to the shop and got me more rocks that were less expensive and now my yard looks beautiful. I'm going to be using them hopefully for landscaping services. They are very customer oriented and a family owned business. I can vaguely remember when this business began as small little plot of land that looked overgrown, disorganized and unkempt. I'm so happy to be living right down the road from them and to have had the opportunity to watch them grow into what they are now. We have consistently bought pumpkins, Christmas trees, shrubs and odds and ends through the years. I went to Enchanted Forest yesterday looking for unique pumpkins and a few annuals and they didn't have what I was looking for. I knew I should have gone to Carter's first. Their selection of unusual pumpkins, carving pumpkins, produce, canned goods, trees, shrubs and ground covers can't be matched. Per pound, they were also cheaper than Enchanted. They offer the opportunity to guess a carving pumpkin's weight to get it for free. Fun for the kids! They also have year-round activities planned like Easter egg hunts and caramel apple dipping to reel in families. I was incredibly pleased with the friendly service offered to me today and honestly can't believe I haven't reviewed them yet. We went this past weekend looking to pick up some rosemary and dill; I'll be honest, the dill was a little on the leggy side and could have done with a healthy amount of pruning so we decided to skip buying it but still picked up the rosemary since it was in nice condition. This has been the only time I can think of anything remotely negative about the place throughout the 3 years we've been going there. Everything has historically been well-kempt and well-priced. Watch out for Carter's if you want a landscape quote. They are happy to take your $35 for an estimate, but never bother to contact you. If I could give no stars, that's what they'd get, but there is no option. On 3/14/21, paid Carters $35 for a landscaping estimate and was told it would take about a week to 10 days before we'd hear from Mr. Carter. After 2 weeks, I called for an update and was told they were really busy, and I quote, "it's that time of the year." After 4 weeks, my husband & I drove over there and personally talked with a lady and again, excuses about how busy they were. She stated she would let Mr. Carter know that we dropped by. After 6 weeks (4/25/21) of still not hearing a word from Mr. Carter, we drove to Carters and got our $35 back. The lady was apologetic, and again with the excuses of being busy. We're all busy, but a courtesy phone call would have been nice. If you're that busy and can't do the job, just say so and don't take customer's money and string them along. read more

I'm a very busy person and don't have the time to do landscaping myself so I wanted to hire somebody to do it for my three properties. After reading all of the reviews about Carter's I decided to go with them. I am extremely disappointed in the experience, the customer service, and the outcome of my landscaping. To begin, after paying $35 for the estimate I had to call them repeatedly for three and a half weeks before they finally came out to give me the estimate. The first mistake I found was that the estimate did not give me the credit for the $35 that I paid. To an unsuspecting person that might get missed and would then be more money in their pockets. Also, Hunter Carter measures by walking and counting footsteps; I double checked his measurements on several areas and he overstepped and was over charging me. When you're paying by the foot I think it's important to be accurate and to not just casually overcharge people! They did fix that and now the fun begins. They came out while I was at work and they completely butchered two of my trees. Since I wasn't there there was no way to stop him from destroying my trees and there's no way to fix it after the fact. I was almost in tears at how hideous this looked and was even more upset about the fact that I thought I was paying for a professional! I could have butchered my trees myself. They then sent me a final invoice and I had to inform them that the work wasn't finished yet! After several upset phone calls Hunter finally came out to look at it and convinced me with his many years of experience that this was professionally cut and that in a year it will grow into a beautiful tree. Against my better judgement I said ok. Of the work that wasn't done, Hunter had deviate from what was originally quoted. I agreed to the changes but really felt like I was paying for more than what I got. It has been a year now and one of the trees still looks hideous! I've looked at this atrocity for a year and now I wanted to have it fixed in some way. I've talked to Bobby and Darby and each of them said that Patrick would call me back to setup a meeting to look at the tress and to possibly do more work for me to offset my loss on the messed up tree they cut last year. Patrick has has not called me and it has been several weeks now, so I guess that they want to try and brush me under the carpet and hope that I will get frustrated and go away. As I can recall, Patrick was the one who had cut that tree in the first place so I can understand why he's probably ashamed to want to talk to me to admit that he f...ed up! I am frustrated and that's why I've waited this long to finally write this review. For the thousands of dollars that I paid them I'm very disappointed that the company will not take ownership of the mistake that they had made. Hopefully this will help other people to not be duped by this company and to let the buyer beware! read more

Be careful with Carters, just last week they were paid to deliver 6 yards of sifted topsoil. I maybe received 3 or 4 yards. I had to use my own tools and get on the back of his truck to push all the wet soil off MYSELF. The driver was EXTREMELY rude when he arrived, wouldn't let me get a word out when asking if he could drop it in 3 different spots (as my landscaper requested). He got stuck (tore my yard up) after telling me he couldn't drop it in my yard (which I was fine with). Refused all help from me when I tried to assist him on getting the truck out of my yard. Had to call another worker to pull him out. When they finally got the truck out and left, I called Carter's to report the driver and the entire situation. The clerk that answered the phone tried to blame me and insisted there was no owner/manager I could speak to. The clerk also gave me the name of the driver which I felt was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Before hanging up, she gives me Hunter Carter's number. I called left a message and he never returned my call. I called again 2 days later, he explained to me that the driver is someone he contracted in a pinch. So after telling him I was also cheated out of soil, he has me go out and measure the pile. He confirmed I indeed was cheated and told me to let him know how much more soil I needed to complete the job, that he would make it right. Well when I called him back to let him know what additional soil I needed. He wanted me to pay for 4 more yards and he'd give me 2 for free. I've spent alot of money with them over the years. I had two gentlemen help me pick out EVERY flower for my new house. They ran around all over the place and helped me piece together the perfect plants. A great family owned garden center and country store. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Though much smaller than McDonalds and London Bridge, Carter has a great selection, much the same as the bigger centers but cheaper. After making your selection, staff comes out to you, writes everything up, then you follow them up the steps into the store to finish your transaction (and get a chance to buy their wonderful fruits & veggies). Carter's will be my first stop next Spring for all my annuals and herbs. read more

I just left this business very dissatisfied. There was a tree marked $175. The man working the lot checked the price tag on the tree then wrote me a ticket to pay for it. Another man, I guess the owner by the way he acted, took my ticket and said the price of the tree was $375 not $175 as marked and refused to sell it to me for the price that was marked on the tree. He went and removed the price tag that said $175. I have spent hundreds of dollars at their place over the past two years. Whether the price was marked wrong or not makes no difference to me. I feel they should have honored the price marked on the tree. During our discussion he told me to stop being a "BITCH". I assume he thought I was being a "BITCH" because I expected him honor the priced marked. I will never buy another plant from this establishment. In the end they will lose more money with the loss of my business and my family's business then they would have had they just honored the price marked. I love to go grab a wagon and fill it up. Very good selection of herbs, veggie plants, and tons of annuals. They stock the classic perennials, enough to get you started with a beautiful border or cottage garden. Tucked away under the trees they have an assortment of very small native plants & perennials; yes they are tiny but very affordable and enough variety to get you started. They have a much better assortment of shrubs and trees than any big box store and you can get expert help to make your selections. And the covered porch has a selection of local produce, save yourself a trip to the farmers market. read more

We purchased few palms from this store. After charging us enormous amount of money for installation and transportation- the palms they installed were not even the ones that we selected- they were smaller and cheaper. As much as one wants to "go local" and support small business, it's tough to do that with horrendous customer service and lack of work ethic. Besides all this, they left the yard dirty, left behind their tools and water bottles. At he same time, we also did mulching through this company. Mulch is not distributed evenly. There are lumps in certain areas and bald in others. Our handyman was surprised that it's done so poorly that he volunteered to level it out for free. To top it all they preferred to give a discount rather than correct their mistakes. There are other nurseries and landscapers, a little pricier but eventually you end up spending more with Carters (though the quote starts off low). read more

I discovered this gem a couple of years ago. It's just this little nursery stuck on the small triangular piece of land. I've driven by it for years, hardly noticing it. When I did finally stop in I was delighted to find a large selection of plants that were great quality. I was even more surprised to find that they were cheaper than the big box stores, and I was able to support a local business. On average prices were a dollar or two per plant cheaper than the big box and the plants were in much better shape. The helpful staff would walk through the plants with you and tell you what would work in shade or sunny areas, would specifically tell you when items were coming in so that you could come back for hard-to-find items. The selection was dramatically better than big box store and compared to other nurseries their prices were roughly half. The presentation of the product is very basic, but I don't need fountains and beautiful displays to sell me A plant for twice the cost. Wide selection, healthy plants, and discount prices make this place a winner read more
