A good place for a night out with the girls, Had a 630 reservation so I was a bit quiet, but after seven people started piling in on a Saturday. It was pretty empty for a Saturday since it was cold out The sushi was fresh! I had the umi roll- loved the avocado and fresh fish on top. Lychee tini was strongggg Parking in free garage.

Hmm... I would consider this place having "bougie" sushi. Perhaps I'm relating that term with price to food portion. The prices are a bit higher than your typical "premium" sushi places. However, I've paid similar prices for better quality fish. Let's highlight the positives: Great ambiance Decent happy hour menu Good cocktails Service I like their sushi rolls; the rice to fish portion is perfect compared to most sushi places that make gigantic rolls with tons of rice. Personal preference. It's an ideal place for happy hour or a cute date night. I usually sit at the bar when I come here. Attentive service and consistent water refills. The location is across from Memorial City Mall, in the Memorial Hermann medical area. Parking can be tricky. If you can't find parking, there's the garage and valet. Not quite sure on the valet cost though.

Visited for a Friday happy hour as I was craving sushi and stumbled upon this place. The restaurant was fairly quiet for a 6pm experience. I sat at the bar and was greeted warmly. The bartender was attentive and timely. I ordered the lychee martini, garlic edamame, creamy rock shrimp and rin roll. The lychee martini was really good and well balanced. I am normally not a fan of edamame but these were AMAZING, I ate them all! The rock shrimp was just okay, the batter was a bit soggy and not as crunchy as I expected. The rin roll included shrimp tempura and cream cheese and was okay, it tasted a bit bland. I would try this place again to order some other options.

Duck a bit chewy. Sea bass is interesting and poached. Not the way I'm used to having it cooked, but cool to try. Wouldn't try it again. Sushi is solid. Otoro app is good. Foie gras shumei is good due to the foie. The shumei itself is unremarkable.

This is our second time at this restaurant. We specifically came back because of the quality of the sushi and the Ube soufflé dessert. We made a reservation a month prior, arrive to the restaurant just for them to tell us they don't see our reservation and we have to wait for them to clean a table after we show them our reservation confirmation email. They take us to the table after waiting, it's still dirty. We couldn't even sit down because there was soy sauce on the chairs. We stand there at the table waiting awkwardly for them to clean it. They don't clean it for so long we ask to just please be sat at the sushi bar. We get sat at the sushi bar. Then ignored. And ignored. We have to wave someone down just to finally get water. Then we wait, and wait...We pull someone else's waitress to get our orders in and she was very nice. Unfortunately we were very upset because we were told they were not offering the ube soufflé dessert tonight... one of the main reasons we even made the reservation to come back to this place. We still stay and send in our order. Then we get our order... except it wasn't our order. They gave us someone else's order. We send the order back and watch it go to another couple, who also didn't order it, and then finally reach the correct couple. Then we wait. And wait. We wait so long we overhear another two couples complain that they got the same treatment of them acting like they couldn't locate their reservations, get told they don't have a table for them, and get sat at the bar. One lady left because they moved her from the drink bar to the sushi bar and still couldn't place her at an actual table after she waited for 30 mins. We went so long without food this was all very noticeable as we were just sitting there starving. We finally received 4 pieces of nigiri after 25 mins... we ordered 14 nigiri, 1 roll, and the crispy duck. We scarfed down our 2 measly pieces each after we had already been seated for an hour. I'm not even kidding we then waited to slowly receive 1-2 pieces of our order at a time across 1 hour and 20 mins, until we finally got so fed up we asked our waitress to please just take the final 4 items off our bill and give us our ticket because we wanted to leave. Good lord. The most miserable 2 hours and 20 mins at a "upscale" restaurant ever. I am so tired of these pseudo-fancy restaurants that are so poorly managed they cannot handle any type of rush. Only took 1 photo of the crispy duck we ordered and nothing else because of how awful the presentation of 1 item at a time was.

Came here with my husband last night after not coming for a while. We usually come on Fridays when they have the live violinist, but even without it we still had a great time. We ordered the $55 four-course meal and added an extra sushi roll on the side, starting with the Hamacchio Sashimi and Tuna Tartare with Taro Chips, which were both fresh and flavorful. For sushi, we tried the Truffle Suzuki, Poseidon, and June Maki rolls, all beautifully presented and delicious. For mains, we had the Sous Vide Wagyu with fig jam, which was perfectly cooked with a sweet-savory balance, and the Miso seared Sea Bass with cauliflower purée, which was tasty though I wish it had been served a bit warmer. For dessert, we shared the Chocolate Brownie Bites with milk ice cream and the Bread Pudding, both were pretty good. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly, and overall the experience was great!. We spent about $200 and I'd give it a solid 8.5/10.

Had an amazing time for my first time. To start I came in a Sunday which was perfect. They have a Sunday deal, 2 for 1 nigiri, which was absolutely perfect because that's what I was in the mood for. The truffle salmon is my absolute favorite. The service was fast and great, couldn't have asked for anything better. And for a cold Sunday night, the big windows that look out makes the restaurant feel cozy and relaxing. Definitely coming back for another great meal!

The dining room is chic and feels very upscale but comfortable with a large open fire kitchen that was really fun to watch while dining. They were very on top of service with both our dining captain and waiter checking on us throughout the evening. For appetizers we ordered the deviled crabs, tuna tostada and wood roasted carrots. All were great but I especially loved the carrots which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main course I had the chicken and dumplings, husband got the NY strip, our friends shared the whole fish and we had the cabbage and crab rice as sides. Everyone was very happy with both their main courses and the side dishes. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they sent out a s'mores inspired sunday for my birthday which was both thoughtful and sublime. Overall we were very impressed with our meal. We were greeted by three different people - one that took our drink order, one that cleared our plates, and one that took our order. All were very nice people and gave excellent service! I forgot their names unfortunately. My receipt said Zachary but not sure which waiter that was. Between me and hubs, we had a Pan de campo, an order of Gulf Oysters "casino", (4) dressed oysters, a 16 oz dry aged ribeye, a snapper entree and a side of crab fried rice. We finished almost everything except a quarter of the Pan, about a quarter of the rice, and about a third of the ribeye. All were great dishes and would definitely order again. We skipped dessert because honestly none stood out to us. He said their popular dessert is the souffle but they were sold out. Our total before gratuity was about $250 and that included one cocktail. Hubs had their "classic" old fashioned which he said was excellent! Overall, highly recommended if you don't mind the splurge or for a special occasion!

Second, I discovered that they're owned by the same people behind Masraff's. That's a good start. They're located in a shopping center with several other businesses, including a cat vet right next door. While it was busy, I didn't have trouble finding a parking spot. Ambiance (4/5): This is part of where By Popular Demand (BPD) shines. The interior is trendy, with both tabletop seating and more comfortable chairs and sofas. There's a small patio in the front and a larger one on the side. There aren't a ton of seats inside, so think of it as a smaller, more intimate bar. Service (3.5/5): A little slow to start out with as it took our waitress a good while to come and take our order (we were sitting on the front patio). She did apologize for the delay, and she was friendly from there on out, so things improved throughout our evening there. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so I was on a liquid diet. I have heard they have a pretty awesome steak night on Mondays though. Next time around! Drinks (3.5/5): While they have a full bar, BPD is a cocktail bar. They have 10-12 craft cocktails, plus everything else you would expect at a bar. I went with That Cucumber Drink. I'm always a fan of any cocktail that incorporates cucumber. It was one of the few items on the menu that stood out to me. A decent number of of the offerings are more of your standard cocktails (margaritas, ranch waters, etc.) and a good number have brown liquor (while I prefer clear liquor). Not the best menu for my taste, but that's not to say it's not a solid menu. Next time around, I'll have to stop by for steak night or to try out their food menu.

I visited on Valentine's evening so we did make reservations but I do believe reservations are a standard regardless of the day.
