    lamb ribs

I am not usually a fan of lamb but everything we ordered was delicious. The golden lamb ribs were so tender and the side sauces and spices worked really well with it. The lamb shank was moist and fell right off of the bone. The pilaf rice had a hint of sweetness to it, reminded me of the taste of those chinese herbal soups with gogi berries. The lamb dumpling soup was my favorite dish of the night. The soup oddly tasted like pico degallo because of the onions, tomatoes, and cilantro, but it WORKED. The lamb broth was hearty but clean tasting at the same time and the dumplings were tasty. The cold eggplant dish was a little too spicy for me but was good over the rice. I didn't see their fish dish on their to-go menu so we'll have to go in-person to try that!

It's a 3.5 stars for me, some dishes are a hit some dishes are a miss. We went on a weeknight and got seated immediately. We ordered: - Lamb kebab: 3/5 the meat was rough but the seasoning was good - Samsa: 5/5 flavorful and delicious! - Golden toasted lamb: 4/5 the first few bites were delicious but it's generally too fatty the more I bite into it - Garlic naan: 2/5 unfortunately it felt like store bought and wasn't that good

Very excited to have authentic Uyghur food in San Mateo! Lamb pilaf was fragrant and delicious, and the fish was crispy. Will be back again

The lamb was fresh, juicy, and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice. The skewers were grilled really well, and everything came out hot and flavorful. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm craving lamb skewers!

Food is authentic and very high quality - a good place to enjoy lamb and traditional Xinjiang / Central Asian food!

Good food fast service. We ordered Samsa, Golden Crisp Roasted Lamp, and Silk Road Garlic roasted whole fish.

The store is a bit small, so definitely expect a wait during dinner or prime-time hours! However, the attentive service makes the experience well worth it. We ordered the Golden Crispy Roasted Lamb Rib and the Braised Lamb Shank, and I highly recommend both: * Golden Crispy Roasted Lamb Rib: This was the highlight--incredibly tender on the inside with a perfectly balanced soft-yet-crunchy outer layer. * Braised Lamb Shank: Absolutely succulent and fall-off-the-bone tender. The Sides & Sauces The dishes were served with a scrumptious rice mixed with raisins, carrots, and apricot pieces. It offered a light sweetness that complemented the aromatic, roasted flavor of the grains beautifully. Additionally, both meals came with three distinct dipping sauces: 1. Chili Oil Sauce (for a kick) 2. Dry BBQ Rub (for savory depth) 3. Yogurt Dipping Sauce (for a cool finish) All three paired perfectly with the lamb, making for a fantastic meal!

Great food and generous portions! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, especially the soup and grilled meat. The staff were friendly, and the service was quick. I'll definitely come back to try more dishes.

Authentic, tasty Excellent Uyghur spot! The lamb soup have the perfect flavor and the lamb kebabs are incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of cumin and spice.

Nice new place for Uyghur food. We ordered Samsa, lamb rib pilaf, garlic eggplants and kebab. All taste good and fresh. I especially enjoyed the pilaf with apricot raisin in it, giving a little sweet and fruity note.

Delicious meal from start to finish. The lamb was tender and full of flavor, the cucumber salad was a great complement, and the garlic naan was fresh and buttery. Highly recommend!

I came with a friend and got seated immediately. In terms of service, there wasn't too much interaction with the staff since you order via QR code, but they will come over and put your receipt on the surface of the table and check off your items as they bring them out. Initially, my friend and I thought they grilled the skewers on the plate at the table; however, it comes pre-cooked and grilled, and the plate itself is there to keep your food warm. I looked under, and it's "powered" by a bunch of tea candles. Between both of us, we ordered some skewers of enoki mushrooms (which was my favorite, super tender and flavorful), some beef skewers, a beef skewer with lychee (super unique), beef tongue (a bit tough for my liking), and chicken skin (extremely crispy, somewhat hard to pull off the skewer). I want to call out again the beef with lychee since this was an item I do not see often. It was interesting because the beef was seasoned well and when combined with the lychee, it added a refreshing note; however, the lychee's textural profile was similar to fatty beef, which personally threw me off a bit as someone who tends not to like fatty cuts (if you are a fan though, you'll like this). Overall, this spot is an okay place to check out if you're in the area. Parking in this area of San Mateo is limited, but the restaurant itself has a lot of tables, so it can be good for bigger parties.

Recently I stopped to pick-up dinner with the plan to have leftovers. I called my order in and was quoted 40 minutes for my order to be ready. My order consisted of salted fish and chicken fried rice (this location has the best around SF and the peninsula), bitter melon beef, chicken chow mein, Thai style fried vermicelli (my favorite dish here), salt and pepper chicken wings. We also received a complimentary bbq pork fried rice. Everything was fantastic and we had plenty of leftovers for a few days.

Big won ton filled w pork and shrimp. Bok choy Broth not much flavor, in a separate container since this was a take-home order. Curry Beef Stew I've never had Curry beef stew before, prefer chicken, curry, but for some odd reason, I decided to order this dish. It was underwhelming and I won't order it again. The Curry sauce itself was OK but the big long pieces of beef were somewhat gross, lots of fat. They added plenty of slices to onions and a few pieces of green pepper and Julienned carrots, but that's about it for being called a stew. So I learned my lesson by not sticking to my usual order, and won't order wonton soup or curry beef stew again.
