He checked and did have the part available, more importantly he was willing to stay past his regular closing time and fix it! He then arranged to tow the car from the parking lot where it was stuck, to his garage, so I remained at home. When it was ready he thoroughly went over what was wrong and how it was repaired. He charged me for actual hours of labor, not according to the fake scale that dealers use. He also insisted my daughter call him on his cell phone when she arrived safely for some further checks. This was over a month ago and the car has been fine. The only reason I didn't give him 5 stars ( would give him 4.5 stars but don't see how to add the half star) is because I was charged for the tow and was not told the cost ahead of time. He did say my insurance company would most likely reimburse me, which they did. Also his estimate for the work was slightly higher than quoted, but he did say it was an estimate. I would return to him for other work, and was glad to find him. Lately there has been a lot in the news about mechanics ripping off women and treating us poorly, this is absolutely NOT the case here! He said to call the guy who sold him the tired to get warranty because "he pay for it as new" So I did, I have messages from where he bought it stating he new it was a old used tire and even asked for a discount because of the missing chunk on tire tread. He paid 250$ or less for the USED tire and sold to me as new. I will give him credit for coming at night time and getting me out of the road. I understand emergency services cost money, The reason I am devastated is because he SCAMMED me by telling me its a brand new tire when he new it was used and just wanted to make hundreds In proffit by ripping me off. I didn't get notified of the diagnosis until 4pm and couldn't get my car back until the next day. The humming noise could not be identified and suggested I change a tie rod. I thought this was the issue. I called on Tuesday morning to get an estimated time to pick up my car I was told 3pm. I arrived on time at 3pm since I had to get to work that evening, I was charged for the tie rod and sent on my way. Driving back home, I noticed the humming sound was still there and even louder. I looked at the repair bill and it stayed that the humming sound was possibly from the rear differential and could cost upwards of 2k dollars, I was shocked they didn't tell me this in person when I picked up the car. I called to get more information on this and they told me they could not exactly point out the source of the humming sound and that they were only 70% sure it was the rear differential. For 2k I wasn't sure if I could trust them to do the repairs given my experience so far. I'm very disappointed with the lack of communication and lack of solution finding to the problem I walked in with. About an hour later, I didn't feel safe with the car driving as is and called back asking to go ahead with the rear differential repair. They told me that they will shop around for parts and give me a call back. It is now Thursday and have not heard back from the shop. Terrible service. Go somewhere else
