A warning light went on in our Fiat. We needed the car, so my husband drove to European Motors for someone to read the codes and tell him what the issue was. Not to fix it. He just needed to know how serious the problem was. It would take 5 minutes. When my husband asked the service manager if someone would read the codes, the answer was no. They were too busy. My husband said it would not take a long time, just 5 minutes. The manager argued with him and refused to do it. Mind you, we have been to European Motors many times and have spent a lot of money there. The manager knew my husband. The answer was a flat no. Ironically, in the time the manager spent arguing with my husband? He could have read the codes. Luckily he was able to get someone at Mavis to do it. Customer service is not a priority. AC recharge was done properly, but the cost was exactly twice what I paid for the same work on same car in same area 4 years prior. I can understand some inflation, but the cost was extremely high. My Jetta was approaching 85,000 miles. There were a few minor things it needed that I was aware of but I was worried it needed a little more maintenance than I was aware of. I asked they go over and do a full maintenance and service, they looked up the dealers suggested maintenance schedule and went from there. All said and done, not one extra thing was done than what I already knew about and I didn't even mention it to them prior. This is almost unheard of in this industry! They are TRUE professionals, they clearly operate on integrity and are not looking to make extra money on their customers. If you aren't sold yet here's more of my experience at other places. Sal and Nick took care of me and my car from the second I called to schedule my appointment. Very professional while also being personable and having pleasant, genuine conversation (unlike a dealership). Speaking of dealerships, anyone who has regrettably dealt with the series of horrendous Flemington dealerships for maintenance like me have probably received phone call after phone call of lists of things that are "strongly suggested to be replaced". It was reassuring to have a set of experts comb through my car being that it was approaching higher mileage and my extended dealer warranty was up. I will definitely be going back for any future needs. I brought my car here after hearing many recommendations and I will now be doing the same. I have been a customer at European Plus for more than 12 years. European Plus has always maintained my cars, provided outstanding service, and kept my cars on the road. And they're priced much better than the dealerships I had previously frequented. One of the things I like most about European Plus is that when they provide you with a list of what needs to be fixed/replaced, they tell you what should be done now vs. what can wait. Unlike the dealerships, who give you the impression that it all needs to be done immediately. Even though European Plus is a Volvo specialist, they do work on all European and Japanese cars as well. I had been recommended this shop by several trusted friends; European Plus' reputation of high automotive expertise and fair pricing had me thinking it might be too good to be true, if the accolades were to be taken at face value. Turns out they were (are). Imagine an automobile repair shop that has highly advanced technical acumen - indeed specializing in the very category of vehicles that have justified reputaions for being horrendously expensive to maintain in the post-warranty after market, run by an owner who chooses a path of honesty and value, not looking to "get over" on the happless vehicle owner but instead choosing the unusual path of integrity, value, customer satisfaction and his own brand building for long term customer relationships. Imagine that. My 2006 Audi A6 needed some work done; the Audi dealership told me it wasn't essential work but it'd still cost $1200. Yikes. The folks at European Plus found the problem, fixed the small plastic part (probably making it better) rather than replacing the whole section (it's a throwaway world nowadays), did a complete diagnostic of the car, told me what would need to be done in the future, updated the computer, all for less than half of what the dealer wanted. More work, better work, confidence inspriring technical acumen and refershing honesty. Don't imagine - experience it for yourself firsthand. read more

I am a new customer trying them out for the first time as I have been taking my two Volvos to Volvo of Princeton for three years. Let me first state that I have found the experience and customer service at Volvo of Princeton to be top notch, but the cost has been such a burden. Being newish to the area, I have been looking for a good mechanic without having to drive to far away. Luckily, I used Yelp and read the first review. I found EP on Google called in an emergency situation spoke with Nick whom requested I have the car brought in, once it was there (as one yelp or stated) The hostage situation began! Gave me excessively increased price and told me to come pick it up if I didn't want to have him do it obviously he knew that I was in a bind. Researched prices. His pricing 500% over cost that's right 500%. He's arrogant ignorant complete sociopath avoid this place. The parking lots full of cars because he's not a finisher.. past customers refuse to pay his over inflated prices and told him to keep the cars. When paying and picking up my care attempt to intimidate me? Why is he in business still? Many of the reviews you read are clearly his friends and family.. read more

They deserve a big FAT ZERO. I brought in my 2010 Volvo to have the check- engine light and air conditioner checked out. They presented me with a laundry list of repair work adding up to a whopping $5,000 for a Volvo that is hardly worth $5,000. I was insulted. Also, they charged me $250 to diagnose these issues that I didn't even ask them to look into. $250 down the hole - and they fixed nothing. read more

Avoid this place! I would give it a zero star. They take your information (address, phone number, license plate) and then tell you, it's $120 for diagnostics. When they could have told you all that on the phone, and saved you 25 minutes from driving! I can only blame myself for trusting every word they say! read more

Wow. I am so happy with the service here! I went to my Toyota dealer to have my air conditioning fixed. They told me I needed a new compressor and that it would be $3200! I decided since my warranty is out, to look elsewhere. I took my car here, and after a thorough check up ( about two hours to check the whole air conditioning unit) they determined that the compressor was good, but a switch was bad and needed replacing. They ordered the part and the next day I had my car back and it only cost ,a little over $400. They even gave me a ride home and picked me up the next day when the car was ready! Nick, the owner was great, and the staff very friendly and helpful. Will DEFINITELY use these guys from now on. read more

Nick and Chris are great mechanics and the world's most honest - I have no doubt. They spent several days looking at my car since recently it seemed to have developed an electrical issue though it did not act up again - and there were no drivability problem. Everything is working fine now. They did not charge me a penny for all the investigation they have done - they just cleared out the system messages for me to bring it back right away if it occurs again. That way the haystack will be gone and the needle can be more easily found. They could have told me anything and charged me several hundred dollars - I would not know any better. And this is not the first time - several times they didn't charge me anything as they said nothing was wrong. I have been coming to them for four years and I can't say enough good things about them. We have used Nick for over 15 years. He kept our older model Volvo's going and showed us that owning a quality car is worth the money. Our old wagon had over 400,000 miles on it! For the past few years we were without a European car and we must say we missed the reliability Nick offers.
