Thank you to the entire team at McGann Oral Surgery! A special thanks to Dr. McGann, Brandy, and…read moreNatalia for taking such good care of my daughter!!! From the initial phone call to the procedure itself, everything went well. My daughter is an anxious patient, but after reading reviews about Dr. McGann's experience with nervous patients, I felt better about choosing this office. During the consultation Dr. McGann patiently answered all of our questions and the wisdom teeth extractions went better than expected. The aftercare instructions were explained, and her prescriptions were sent to our pharmacy of choice and ready for pickup before we even left the office. Brandy walked my daughter to the car and made sure she was safely in her seat, which I thought was very thoughtful and compassionate. The office itself is contemporary, calm, and welcoming, with beautiful wood accents and two comfortable seating areas. There's a waiting area inside and outside. I really liked the vertical wood partitions. It gave the office a clean, Scandinavian design vibe. The building is on a corner lot with a small parking area in the back, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible. There's also metered street parking directly across the street. The personal touches in the post care bag like chapstick, extra gauze and the syringe for flushing the medicine, meant so much. As a college student, she loves the new sweatshirt! She wore it inside at home today saying how comfortable it is! Wisdom teeth removal is a rite of passage for many teens and I'm so happy that my daughter had a pleasant experience. She's feeling better since the teeth have been removed. So grateful for this office. Dr. McGann's bedside manner and attentiveness are truly top-tier. We live 2.5 to 3 hours away (depending on traffic) so when I realized I had a missed call from the oral surgery office, I panicked a little thinking we had forgotten something! Imagine my relief and surprise when I listened to the voicemail and it was Dr. McGann personally calling the same evening to check on my daughter's healing and progress. A+++ This office treats its patients with respect and care. It operates like a well-oiled machine. Every staff member is efficient, competent, and a skilled communicator. This kind of care is rare. I'm truly so grateful and blessed that we found them.

Every time I'm in, there is some new technological gadgetry and what I imagine is the best 360 help and options you could select from. I'm sorry to see that anyone's had a bad experience there. Sadly, this is truly a case of humanities tendency to take things for granted like excellence in dentistry as a thing that's expected. But... I made the mistake of trying a different dentist because I'd moved. Big mistake. I drive 80 miles for him now. And YOU know he's doing an incredible job when nobody bothers to give good google reviews... because people tend to only write negative reviews. I highly recommend Dr. Catherwood D.D.S., office, staff, associates, assistants... to everyone I know and I could only endlessly go on about the compassionate, professional, charming and serenity I feel at the office, because I know I'm taken care of. I have done my wisdom tooth extraction here. The experience was excellent. Dr. Machado is very…read moreprofessional and skillful. The entire process from he picking up the tool to extract my tooth to finishing the surgery only took 10 seconds. Smooth and sweet. Not much pain. I did not know that I was that lucky until talking with my friend afterward who told me that her dentist spent half an hour messing around in her mouth to extract a tooth and the wound had been swelling for a week after the surgery. They were amazed by how quickly I was recovering and how normal that my face looked like. Today is my fourth day after the operation. I do not have much bleeding after the first day and has minimal swelling that my friend could barely notice when we handed out yesterday. The wound is recovering smoothly. I am following the doctor's instruction to take the pill regularly to prevent infection. So far so good! On last Friday, the nurse from Dr. Machado's office even called me to check-in and see if everything is doing ok. They are very caring! One last thing, the price of this operation is very reasonable. Dr.Machado has a very high consultant rate, but in terms of the wisdom teeth surgery itself, it is actually 100$ cheaper than another dentist I have consulted in San Francisco. Ignore everything I just say about the money if you are in Delta dental PPO because the insurance covers 90% of them and you just need to pay a tiny to get all the thing done! In summary, Dr. Machado is a very professional and skillful dentist. His can conduct the wisdom teeth extraction operation in a smooth and fast fashion. Not much pain throughout the entire process and you will recover very quickly. The team is very caring and thoughtful in helping you recover and prevent any infections. The price is very reasonable if you have Delta Dental PPO insurance. That's all, let me know if you have any question and all the best!

Dr Machado performed a double jaw surgery on me in 2012 - thirteen years ago. I really haven't been able to put into words that he completely changed my entire life. I cannot express enough gratitude and thanks for being able to live the last 13 years happy with my face, after hating looking in the mirror for my entire life prior. Dr Machado is the single most pivotal person in my life after my family. No longer having my appearance be a daily negative factor in my life is best gift I could have ever received. Dr. Machado and his office fought hard for my parents to get the surgery approved through insurance, made a critical last minute decision to go for double jaw surgery instead of having to do two as originally planned, which was so amazing. He was available during my after care and I always felt like I was in good hands and that he was available should I ever need him... which I did a couple years later. My favorite experience was a year or so later when I came back in to get a screw removed - Dr Machado looked at my face and said something to the effect of "I could lowered the top teeth slightly more" - which is something I had considered in passing. I am more than thrilled with my face, its an absolute success by every measure and by any other doctor would be considered 'perfect' - but I am even more appreciative that Dr. Machado cares down the millimeters and scrutinizes your face just as much or more as you do. He is a true artist and a perfectionist. When you undergo this type of surgery you need to have someone you can trust with your appearance, especially in the trying times when you have to wait months to a year for the final result. Dr. Machado is someone who can and will deliver that for you. Thank you for completely changing the entire direction of my life. Thank you for giving my the self confidence I never had. Thank you for my face! Thank you so much!

But Dr. Hens made the experience easy. My comfort was constantly monitored. They have blankets and pillows. Throughout the procedure, they checked in with me regularly.. Explanations and warnings for every sensation. I did not experience any pain, which is rare for me as Novacaine tends to wear off quickly on me. And from the evaluation to the completed root canal, I never doubted the expertise of the staff and Dr. Hens. They have this cool 3-D image thing and they do the x-rays in your chair so it is much simplified. She also takes the time to explain everything and answer all your questions. I never felt rushed. I have been putting up with a lower standard of care for far too long and I highly recommend this office if you have any insecurities or fears or hesitations about the work you need done. I was told by the dentist that pain proved I needed a root canal. I was also told the endodontist on staff there did not do evaluations. That was not the kind of care I want. I need more than just a flippant explanation. We were talking about removing and excavating a nerve from my head, which happened to be in my molar. So I sought out an endodontist to evaluate my tooth pulp. Dr. Hens was very thorough and I felt comfortable and certain that I needed the root canal after visiting her. It was not about sales. It was demonstrated through imagery and explanation and made complete sense.

Unfortunately, an extremely…read moreunpleasant interaction with a male front desk employee caused me to reconsider returning for treatment. At checkout, I requested that my $218 consultation fee be applied toward the cost of my root canal since I am a cash-paying patient, and the person who scheduled my appointment suggested I could ask. A male employee sitting next to her abruptly interjected into my conversation with the young lady assisting me by telling me to explain it to him. After I explained my request, he repeatedly stated, "The consultation fee is the consultation fee, and the procedure fee is the procedure fee." Despite explaining several times that I was simply following the suggestion of the scheduling staff, he continued challenging me and questioned whether I had obtained that person's name. What I found particularly offensive was his condescending tone, dismissive facial expressions, repeated interruptions, and overall disrespectful attitude. His behavior was unnecessarily confrontational, leaving me feeling belittled and humiliated simply for asking a question. I finally requested the office manager, who offered to ask Dr. Cameron about applying the fee. The male employee attempted to discourage her TWICE, insisting that the doctor was in a procedure. Thankfully, she proceeded anyway and returned with Dr. Cameron's approval to apply the consultation fee toward my root canal. The very request this employee repeatedly dismissed was approved by the doctor! I had every intention of scheduling my procedure with Dr. Cameron, who had previously performed a root canal for me. My experience with him had been positive, and I trusted his work. Unfortunately, I could not, in good conscience, return after being treated so disrespectfully by this employee. I appreciate the office manager's professionalism and Dr. Cameron's consideration. However, it's unfortunate that a practice with a skilled doctor can lose a returning patient because of one employee's behavior. Patients deserve courtesy and respect, not intimidation or humiliation, especially when making a request suggested by the practice's own staff!
