I FOUND NEW MY DENTIST!!…read more Dr. Fung is terrific, and it was very much a "collaborative" experience. My crowns on 18 and 19 (lower left molars) were quite old, put in at different times. They were wearing down and I always had trouble flossing around/between them. Gums around them were not happy when I flossed. I met w Dr. Fung and told him I wanted two things in replacing these: 1) anatomical crowns that weren't just flat but more chiseled and were good chewers; 2) Good spacing between them and in front/behind so I could finally floss around them w/o shredding the floss. Well he delivered on both goals!! They are chiseled and chew great. Gums are happy and I can easily floss between/around the new crowns. Very pleased-- highly recommend. I came in after trying a couple other East County dentists over the last 10-15 years with less than stellar results on crown work. (Multiple returns for crown fitting, temporaries cracking over and over, and so on.) I had none of those issues w Dr. Fung.

Informative and caring and not judgmental which I think is the main reason I come to see Dr. Jon. I know that I don't floss as much as I should and they are really encouraging on best practices to floss more and maintain dental health. Anita at the front desk is so welcoming and it just starts off the visit just right. I have a lot of anxiety at the dentist and the office is so calming and everyone is so friendly. It's just an overall such a good experience every time I go that I know if you're not loving your dentist now, definitely make the switch. You will not regret it and you will be so happy you did.

I had an extremely troubling experience with Dr. Omidi at Cardinal Dental…read more I was completely upfront with her about my history with dental anesthesia before beginning treatment. I have never been able to get completely numb, but for roughly 30 years I had been able to get through dental procedures with nitrous. Dr. Omidi reassured me that she could manage my situation, including telling me repeatedly, "I can get anyone numb." I trusted her, I followed all of her recommendations, and I expected the treatment to be at least as manageable as they had been in the past. Instead, both procedures were extraordinarily, excruciatingly painful--far beyond anything I had experienced in decades of dental work and a 10 out of 10 on the pain scale. And I don't use that number lightly; I'm a mother who has endured labor and birth. The second procedure was particularly difficult because I went in expecting it to be relatively straightforward, as crown deliveries have typically always been an easy procedure for me, and instead was shocked to experience another severely painful procedure. But, it was the inappropriate and unprofessional way Dr. Omidi treated me afterward that was the real issue. After the first procedure she patronizingly told me: "That hurt me more than it hurt you." And worse, after the second procedure while I was extremely distressed, I was met with an extremely antagonistic interaction. From the moment her hands came out of my mouth and the pain finally began to subside, Dr. Omidi was agitated and spoke to me harshly instead of allowing me a moment to recover from an unexpectedly excruciating procedure. I felt attacked and profoundly uncomfortable, and she ultimately stormed out of the room. After this experience, I will not be returning to Dr. Omidi.

Check out her personalized stamp on my dental swag! Selena is another great reason to choose TYFD- she's organized, responsive, and doesn't make you feel a burden whenever appointment adjustments are needed. When I needed a new crown, they were able to accommodate this procedure the same day. Lastly, Dr. Nguyen and Dr.Le both are super nice and... busy. There were a few visits where I was handed off to other dentists (also nice but not them). Overall, TYFD is worth the patient transfer from La Mesa Dental Artistry.

I don't like change so I stayed for convenience. Turned out: it meant constant inconvenience. They regularly cancelled appointments, and then rescheduled weeks and even months later (as they overbook). Today, they just announced they no longer take my CA teachers' insurance (not a big enough profit). As I most recently waited three months to be rescheduled--and I'm late for xrays and a cleaning--I questioned them. They said I should trust the dentist and want to pay out of pocket. Absurd. This is a for-profit venture, with everything revolving around funding O'Brien's family. Left high and dry in the most uncaring way.
