My review is specifically concerning the front office manager/receptionist Connie. The dentist and hygienists are nice, I'd only been seen once and had future visits planned...but Connie is coarse, forgetful and unorganized. Lots of paperwork lost, misplaced charts, repeat calls for insurance information because her notes went missing etc. It is either age or disorganization, I don't know but it's no excuse for her rudeness. I had an appointment for a cleaning and contracted COVID. I left a message late one night to cancel my cleaning (9 days early) knowing I'd still be positive on cleaning day. I also spoke to Connie the next day personally and let her know I was sick with COVID and to cancel until I was clear. I gave as much warning as possible. On the day of my (canceled) appointment, Connie called and left a message on my phone chastising me for being a no show saying "the least you could've done was call us, not just be a no show. The doctor has a sensitive schedule and it would be nice if you were mindful of that." I immediately called and reminded her I'd canceled already by message and speaking to her because I had COVID and she abruptly turned nice and thanked me. She said she'd misplaced her notes! She forgets you've called or have left messages and then calls and yells at you. This review follows my second encounter with this issue. Suddenly I got a voicemail saying I was rather rude to not be returning calls and voicemails and it would be nice if I could return the message! She said "I've been calling you for weeks and need to know if you want this appointment tomorrow you asked for, but I guess I'm going to have to just keep leaving messages because you won't answer or call back!" Problem is...she had the wrong patient, she had not been calling me and I had not been requesting appointments early. She is confused or something and gets mad and becomes belittling and condescending toward people when the issue is actually her! I called after that message to cancel future appointments...I will not be going back. Another new client scared off by disrespect and disorganization. The office is old and sort of feels like going to your elderly grandparents house. It could use a make over and modernization. No effect on quality of care but a new look and a new receptionist would do wonders. read more

The care was fine but the woman running the office couldn't get the billing correct. She told me a panoramic xray would be covered, then billed me for it. She gave me a price for a crown and I paid it on the day of, then sent me another bill because the insurance didn't pay what she thought they would. I've never had a dentist or any business get an estimate of prices so wrong and then trickle in the bills, expecting me to make up the difference. There are plenty of dentists out there. I have bad periodontal disease this dentist only examined me and told me that he would just have to pull my teeth no other alternative it was like he was afraid to touch me I don't know if he's racist.... I don't want to say that I don't know if he has any African-American patients... but that's what I felt like when I left the office that I was shunned because I was African-American and the only result would be to pull my teeth and charge me $50,000 Plus for dentures that was not what I expected not a very good experience for me he didn't even try to help he just wanted to get me in and get me out because I said no to him pulling my teeth I'm not trying to walk around with any teeth. He wouldn't do anything that I asked... He wouldn't even clean my teeth. I'm done... Now don't get it wrong .... they were very nice in the office, I just have a gripe about Dr. Russell read more

I have been going to Dr Russell for a couple years now. It is always a pleasure (as much as the dentist can be a pleasure). The staff is very warm and friendly, and the office is clean and tidy. The hygienist is a wonderful lady whose name I forgot. They remember me when I come in, and their prices are very reasonable. They don't try to sell me stuff I don't need, and they give honest, considerate feedback on dental issues. It's such a difference from one of those big, stuffy dental offices where you are just a number. This is a "small town" dentist that I'm glad I found! read more

Connie Had Horrible Customer To A New Patient on 2022-04-11: I called in today to find a new dentist and I was thrilled to speak to them because they have good ratings. I was also happy to speak to someone over the phone. Connie answered the phone and stated that she was in the middle of doing other notes on her computer. I let her know "I understand completely, take your time" because of various jobs I've done. We went through the initial intake process over the phone and I let her know my availability was M-F 10am-7pm due to work. She let me know that a cleaning might take up to a couple month and an initial appointment would take two weeks due to my schedule. I kindly informed her that I completely understand and if I may hold off to see a the doctor to possibly see if there is another availability in my area. She stated "well if you didn't put such a strict limit on your schedule I might be able to." I courteously informed her that I understand it is my work schedule and I appreciate her time. She said if "you'd like I can hold on to that appointment so you have it just in case. Just as long as you promise to call me back if you change your mind." I thanked her for her time, said "yes that'd be great, thank you so mu-" and before I could finish telling her to "thank you so much have a nice day" she spoke over me with a dismissive tone saying"yeah a huh" and slammed the phone down. Connie spoke over me a lot during our conversation and had poor rapport building and customer service skills. Her attitude seemed annoyed, frazzled, busy but she was trying to be subtle but was still unpleasant and not friendly. I tried to build a positive rapport with her over the phone because I was happy to be a new patient in the future but her demeanor over the phone was not interested and non-empathetic. Her tone was unfeeling and she tried to be subtle but was still very negative. I wanted to have a good rapport with the staff since I considered working with them and not start off on the wrong foot but Connie was unenthusiastic and rude. Her tone was condescending and belittling and she made a lot of microagressions. I called back after a couple of minutes of sitting down processing what happened over the phone and decided to call back and cancel the appointments completely. When I called back she hung up very aggressively and abruptly in the same way as before with the same disinterested, unenthusiastic, poor rapport building tone. I am a new patient, or at least trying to be, and Connie treated me with distain and horrible patient/customer service. I was only trying to be polite, kind and honest. I am someone who struggles with mental health and clinical depression and this is something that is just not cool to do to anyone no matter who they are especially a potentially new patient. We never know what someone might be going through as well and I look to my insurance providers and dentist/doctors to improve my health and overall well-being. This did the opposite. Please don't go here or support this business. Connie was very rude and had horrible customer service to new patients. I have seen in other reviews there is rude office staff and they have mentioned Connie by name as well. I'm sure the dentist is wonderful at what they do but this disappointed me and pushed me away from this business. I would have gladly waited and gave them my business/ loyalty if the customer service was better. They are located very close to me and fall in my network but I'd rather not meet Connie in person. What ever happened to customer service and quality health/dental care, in this day and age your reputation is everything. Connie left a poor taste in my mouth. read more

I had to find a new dentist after mine of many years just closed up his practice without any notice. I had a dental emergency and went to one dentist and he was horrible. I have a deep fear of dentists. I had driven by Dr. Russell' every day on my way to work so I just pulled in and I am so glad I made that choice ! I talked to Connie and she made me feel so comfortable and I saw Dr . Russell and I felt safe in his hands. Shelly his assistant is equally wonderful. I feel calm and no fear . I will always be nervous but once I get in the office I am not afraid. I completely trust them all!! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Russell and his staff! I am so grateful I found them!!! Needed to get in right away because of a bad toothache and they saw me within a day. Diagnosis was a root canal and crown which was scheduled the following week. I was very comfortable with the staff and Dr. Russell. I am now switching dentists permanently. read more

My husband hates going to the dentist and has had several horrible experiences. Even with rude office staff. Dr Russell's office is amazing. The office staff is so kind and understanding. They don't make you feel like a number. Dr Russell is compassionate and makes going to the dentist not so bad. My husband had his first procedure done and was pleasantly surprised. I can honestly say I hate going to the dentist, but going to Dr Russell is different. He is very good at making the patient feel comfortable and less anxious. The equipment at the office is amazing and the fact that I can get a brand new tooth within hours still amazes me. The office staff is so kind, knowledgeable and comforting as well. I've been getting some work done here the past 2 months. Dr. Russell is very friendly. I'm not afraid of "The Dentist", but the environment is comfortable. I love Connie. She's great. They also work out a good schedule with multiple appointments if you have to get alot of dental work done and payments so you're not overwhelmed with killing your wallet. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. I arrived early and was seen early. The dentist was quick but thorough. He took pictures of possible problem areas and explained to me what the possibilities were. I also had a cleaning and the hygienist was awesome. I went in to Dr. Russell's office after I chipped my tooth in a motorcycle accident. He had a machine in his office that makes the veneer while you wait. He matched veneer perfectly to my tooth and I can't even tell which one if fake now. He was very polite and his staff is great. He's been great with my kids too. read more

I was always known as a difficult patient. I have issues include a very bad gag and some high power anxiety. Dr Russell is always patient compassionate and thorough. I have always dreaded even the cleanings. But the folks are nice and top notch all the way. They've done crowns, root canals and more ... nothing bad to say about them. The office staff is helpful and friendly, but Dr. Russell was not the best dentist I've ever seen. He talked me into 3 crowns in a single visit, and one turned into a surprise root canal. He was not particularly friendly through the grueling 4 hour visit. After 5 novocaine shots, my entire face was numb, so when I got back in the car and looked in the mirror, I was really upset to find that he hadn't even taken the time to wipe off the gunk that splattered onto my face during the procedures. After just 3 months one of my crowns has already fallen off. Dental work is never fun, but I don't have a lot of confidence in his work, so I won't return. read more

This office was a joke to deal with. Don't waste your time. The only redeeming people are the hygienist and the dentist himself. The office manager was the worst I have ever dealt with and I have dealt with some awful ones!! No follow up calls, no returning phone messages, ALWAYS an excuse for whatever it is that you're trying to get out of her. Had me calling my own insurance company to figure out when my procedures would be covered again and what could be done at the next appointment?? Things that any professional office manager would already do for their patients, not the patients themselves!! I am disillusioned, perplexed and done with this office!! Fair warning!! This is a dentist on a military contract. All you retired folks that are looking for a good dentist, this is your man but you'll have to deal with the substandard front of the office. My advice is to move on and find an office that values your business that you bring to them!! This office will require you to do all the back round work and then not appreciate that the only reason they even have a job is because you are in there as a patient!! Front of the office has forgotten who pays their bills!! All those insurance payments and co-pays have a way of trickling down into that paycheck!! It's your patients making that ALL possible!!!!!! Great office! Dr Russell and his staff are very welcoming, and made me feel right at home. My teeth felt great after a cleaning with Patty, she is very light-handed and my gums felt great. The office is homey and personable and I love that I get to meet with the Dentist every time. Dr. Russell is well-educated, trained, and his work shows for it. I'm recommending this office to all my friends and family looking for a good reliable dentist! read more

The one negative of this office is the location. It's kind of hard to find. (To be fair, I'm terrible with directions) Having said that, it's worth the trip. They treat you like an old friend. My favorite part is when the hygienist sings with the radio when she's cleaning my teeth. read more
