Veterans Beware!!! Went in for a cleaning as a consult from the Veterans Affairs Office... They started preparing me for x-ray, I told them I did not need x-rays and that I only came in for a cleaning. I also explained to them that I just had an exam and x-rays done at the VA the week prior and that they could request them from the VA. The dental hygienist told me that they don't communicate with the VA and that I could not get my teeth cleaned unless I got x-rays done. They gave me no other options so I no longer felt comfortable receiving service done at this clinic. Not long after expressing my concerns their secretary made an unsolicited and unnecessary comment about how their dental office goes out of their way to provide service to veterans by accepting consults from the Veterans Affairs Office, how I should just get the x-ray done because I'm not paying for it, the government is, all while threatening to report me to the Veterans Affairs Office for refusing service. read more

Dr. Cutler cured this big guy's fear of the dentist I initially needed lots of shots (previously a phobia), and I have Tourette's, so dentists in general were an avoidance until I basically didn't have a choice anymore due to pain in my gums. It is a joy to write that the past is over, and the fear is behind me! Years now, he has been my normal dentist since 2016. I had to have some teeth taken out due to my past sugar love, neglect, and probably years of fear. I now regularly have no cavities, and no fear of shots. I have been to so many dentists in San Diego County that were not great. Due to this I had developed anxiety going to a dentist & avoided going for over two years. I developed pain so was forced to find a new dentist once again. I am so thankful I found Dr Cutler! He does an amazing job & I no longer fear going. He has pulled two teeth, put in a bridge, filled cavities, performed a root canal & now am in the process of another bridge (I genetically have bad teeth) I am thrilled I no longer have to avoid going or search for a new dentist again! Staff is super nice and welcoming. Dr. Cutler, is the nicest dentist I've ever met, has a sense of humor. And he takes the time to explain everything to you, plus all his equipment is high tech and up to date. First time I've ever had a virtual tour of the inside of my mouth. Funny yet very interesting. And while my last dentist told me I had 2 cavities Dr. Cutler had a machine that actually checks to see if it is a cavity.... It wasn't! (Has me wondering if the past work I had done at the other dentist was necessary, and plus the money I spent. SMH!) I went to Dr. Cutler after winning a raffle prize for free whitening at his office. It was a refreshing change to walk into a dentist office that felt like the dentist I went to as a child, not a huge office where you are treated like a number. I returned to my primary dentist (huge office) after I started having a toothache a few months later. After about 5 minutes of x-rays and looking at my mouth my normal dentist informed me that I needed to have a tooth pulled (and not the one that was bothering me!) and then get 2 new crowns and a bridge for the small fee of $5,000. Needless to say I got out of there as quickly as I could and called Dr. Cutler. They had an appointment for me the next day! Dr. Cutler was able to see that all I needed was a root canal in the tooth that was bothering me and was able to schedule me quickly since I was going out of town. He takes the time to tell you everything step by step and makes sure that you are comfortable throughout the procedure. From now on Dr. Cutler will be my dentist. And his staf, Kathy and Jan, is just as nice as he is! read more

I have never liked going to the dentist but Dr. Cutler and his staff are so warm and friendly that it makes me feel good about going. They are very gentle and are genuinely concerned with how you feel while you are in the chair. DR. CUTLER IS THE BEST DENTIST EVER!!! I have to say that my experience there was awesome and everyone there is so friendly. With my husband being in the military and moving from location to location, it's hard to establish a place to go to all the time. So when I found Dr. Cutler I was so happy I found my new dentist. Dr. Cutler is by far the best and is very thorough when it comes to explaining the process in what he will be doing to your teeth. He made me feel very comfortable and I couldn't complain about it. He answered all of my questions and I even got to see on camera when he was checking my teeth so I could see what he was doing. That was the first time ever I was able to see inside my own mouth thoroughly and I was excited. Jan is also awesome!!! She was taking my x-rays of my teeth and made me feel right at home. We were just talking and having conversations and time just flew by. She really knew how to make me feel comfortable and enjoy my experience. Kathy is so sweet!!! She made making my appointments super easy and was very helpful. She even gave my kids flowers to give to me for an early Mother's Day and I thought that was just so thoughtful of her and I really appreciated that. Kelli is super great with kids!!! She actually took care of my son, who is only 4 years old and made him feel so comfortable. He was so excited and she was explaining things to him and let him hold the suction. He was happy to be at his dentist appointment and I think that's rare to find in a 4 year old. But Kelli knew exactly what she was doing and I am so lucky that she took care of my son. OMGosh, I love these people. My son (8 mos. old) was crying and the front desk assistant offered to hold him and rock him to sleep while I got some work done. Even though my son SCREAMED AND CRIED thee entire time we were there, who does that!!! Who holds someone's son while they're having a procedure done. He has fixed all my issues even the difficult ones, saved a tooth that no one else said could be saved. Simply the best! I ended up at Dr. Cutler after being told by another Dentist that I needed a tooth extracted after having gone through the grueling process of a root canal prep. Well, the bottom line after going to Dr. Cutler for a second opinion, is I DID NOT need my tooth extracted. While I did need a root canal, Dr. Cutler was nothing short of amazing about it. I have alot of anxiety when it comes to going to the Dentist for ANYTHING and he made my three root, root canal seem like a walk in the park. Love him!!! I have to upgrade my previous review from a 4 to a 5. Here is why. I intend to retain as many teeth as I can until the day I die! When a crown that was installed by a different dentist broke off of one of my molars with no tooth material left to affix another crown to, I was in fear of losing the tooth and possibly the one above it. The thought of losing two teeth had me distraught. There was no pain associated with the crown breaking off because a root canal had already been performed on the tooth. I put the crown in a Ziploc bag and called Dr. Cutler's office which on this day, Friday, was closed so that it can be open on Saturday. I left a message indicating the issue, that I was not bleeding and there was no pain. I was called back by Kathy when the office opened on Monday just before 11:00 AM and was seen later the SAME DAY at 4:00 PM. I was highly impressed that Dr. Cutler would juggle his schedule to fit me in for what turned out to be the fastest, most proficient dentist procedure I have ever had. Since the crown, porcelain fused to metal (PFM) was less than 5 years old, my insurance would not pay for another one to be created. The crown was still in good shape so after some meticulous cleaning, Dr. Cutler decided to reuse it. He gently removed some decay from my tooth and inserted a metal post which was used as build up material for the crown to attach to. Other dentists may have said the old crown could not be reused or may have opted to do tooth extractions. Dr. Cutler, by using a technique that he has found to be successful on many of his patients, saved me hundreds of dollars by reusing the perfectly good crown. Most importantly he saved me from having to lose a body part forever. He saved my tooth! For that I am very grateful! In an effort to be a fair Yelper I had previously rated this business with a 4 star review because of some older furnishing in the waiting room. Now I say, "So What!" I would sit on a dirt floor to receive such fine dental care. This business has earned my 5 star rating! Thank you, Dr. Cutler! I highly recommend you and your entire staff!!! read more

I found Dr. Cutler on the list of Panel Dentists through my insurance. I had broke a tooth, I called Miss Kathy in his office and she got me in the very next morning. When I got in the next morning, I noticed his sign said "Gentle Dentistry" ~ Both Kathy and his assistant Janelle were very kind and they all worked with me to get my tooth fixed that day and I am now on task to have complete repairs done. Dr. Cutler runs a little, small town dental office, but don't let that fool you! He has the latest in dental technology, including digital x rays, dental cameras, and flat screen tv's. There is virtually no waiting in the waiting room, 5 minutes is the absolute max I've had to wait. Dr. Cutler's bedside manner is amazing, he's friendly and cares about his patients. I just have to say that Dr Cutler is probably the best dentist I have ever had. I especially like the fact that he is very flexible with the scheduling. They are open late mon and tues so it gives us time to come in after work. That is hard to find nowdays and I appreciate that. One issue I usually have with dentists is the shot process. Meaning that when i need a shot i ALWAYS feel it and it makes me hate going to the dentist. Recently i was involved in an accident and I had my front two teeth knocked out (it really happened). I called Kathy and told me what happened and she got me in the very same day. I had to get xrays taken and Dr Cutler sat me down and told me what needs to be done. He gave me multiple "treatment plans" based on money and longevity and after talking with Dr Cutler I found one that worked for me. He set me up in the chair and proceeded to give me my shot. I NEVER feel his shot! within 30 min I am all set and ready to go. I will never go to another dentist again. I dont know why there is a negative review on YELP. Best dental people EVER. Do yourself a favor and switch to these guys right now. So, I'm one of those fortunate that doesn't need a lot of dental care. Cleaning, X-rays, etc. that's about it. Although I've been going there for years now, I haven't really needed much. I'll get back to that in a minute. These people are amazing. Always friendly and professional. My hygienist, Kelli, is really careful and gentle. Before going to this office, I ALWAYS had to have music in headphones or something to keep from tearing the arms off the chair. Kelli takes the time and makes the effort to be sure you're comfortable. She hasn't forgotten that there's a person attached to those teeth. Best ever! Kathy, up front, always figures out how to work with my ridiculous schedule. (That's not easy). Dr Cutler is a no-nonsense kind of guy you can talk to but still knows his stuff and makes sure that his people do too. Everybody there is nice and friendly. Here's the best part. I finally got my wife and kid to switch over 2 visits ago, each. There was some reluctance because they were always in the middle of some "thing" with their previous dentist. Guess what? After 2 visits each, miraculously, we don't have buy the dentist a new boat again. I think it's interesting that all of a sudden, their dental health is almost perfect. If I was a cynic, I might wonder about all the "necessary" procedures we've had to do over the years at the other place. I know stuff happens and we'll take care of it when it does but I really feel like Dr Cutler and his crew are on my side and I appreciate that.
