Once you enter, it's nice and bright. Cherry blossoms and nature decor. Aesthetically very pleasing. Very calm, soothing music playing in the background. 2-3 receptionist at the front to check you in. Maybe about 12 seats to sit on to wait, with various selections of couches/chairs. Their equipment all looks pretty high tech and expensive. They even have a laser for kids so they don't have to get a numbing needle prick. Cool place. Decent experience, no complaints. I was referred out. Hygienist was very nice. Cleaned my teeth very thoroughly, left with my teeth feeling very clean.

The rest of my…read morefamily left years ago because of O'Brien's constant upselling (sealants, night guards, etc.); lack of appointments; and their frequent cancellations and rescheduling (i.e. delays and headaches). I don't like change so I stayed for convenience. Turned out: it meant constant inconvenience. They regularly cancelled appointments, and then rescheduled weeks and even months later (as they overbook). Today, they just announced they no longer take my CA teachers' insurance (not a big enough profit). As I most recently waited three months to be rescheduled--and I'm late for xrays and a cleaning--I questioned them. They said I should trust the dentist and want to pay out of pocket. Absurd. This is a for-profit venture, with everything revolving around funding O'Brien's family. Left high and dry in the most uncaring way.

Dr. Wachtel has since moved on, and the staff from my time there has likely turned over completely -- but what impressed me recently is that the current team was just as wonderful. When I reached out years later needing help obtaining my old records for an ongoing medical case, they were responsive, helpful, and went out of their way to assist me without hesitation. That kind of continuity of care and genuine helpfulness -- even for a patient from years ago with a completely different team -- says a lot about the culture this practice has maintained.
