I love my experience here and found my favorite dentists. The staff here are very kind and it almost feels as if they are really family. The front desk staff (Marsell) and the dental assistant (Mia) were so kind and very informative from the front door to the dental chair. My sons are new to this clinic and came for cleanings and one needed a feeling for new cavities (yikes). Dr. Rana Ghazala is super sweet and explained in detail what she was doing prior the procedure which is a plus in my book and meant a lot to my 14 & 15 year kiddos. I came here after I had a root canal done with Tarabashi Dental and they told me there they couldn't reach the bottom of my nerve endings. So that left me with a temporary filling, a serious toothache, and Tarabashi wanted me to see their specialist to have this done again. I said no and came here to see if they could do it and it's NIGHT AND DAY from any Dentist you'll use! They are amazing, they accept Molina Medi-Cal, they took X-rays, and knew in 2 minutes they could do the work. I dont know where to start. Well I have not been to the Dentist in over 12 years. I have many awful experiences in low end denti-Cal Offices. Not taking care of my dental needs or experiencing awful pain during procedures etc. Obviously that has left me with an awful taste of Dentinsty and left me with nothing more than massive Anxiety and fear of ever going back to any office. I had an accident while house sitting for my parents and their dog chipped my two front teeth on accident. I had placed several calls even fhou I was panicked about going. I'd give it a ZERO if I could. First off I'm glad I had insurance at the time and only paid $40 for the whole family but they over-billed the insurance and charged for services we didn't get. We all got X-rays and were supposed to get cleaning but they said I had to have 3 root canals and some fillings, also that my wife needed 3 fillings due to cavities, and they said that my kids had the cleaning done. They billed the insurance company over $3000 for X-rays and cleaning and the only way we were able to know that was because they initially denied the claim before proceeding and had a detailed bill. Today we went to a different Dentist in Rancho San Diego and got X-rays and cleaning for me and my wife for only $400 without insurance, the kids are medical so no charge for theirs but it would've been another $400 at the most. At Ranch San Diego Dental they said my wife not only didn't have any cavities, they assured me I didn't need any root canals, I had 3 cavities that need filling, so Rancho Dental Arts tried to get us to do a service we didn't need. The kids got their cleaning done today at RSDD and mentioned that at Rancho Dental Arts they didn't do the same thing to which makes me realize they didn't even cleaned my kids teeth. So I called into the office to make an appointment for my sister. I spoke to Maria and I let her know I have been in dental for about 12 years and I wanted to see how they schedule new patients. Well she sounded very irritated talking to me and was very rude and condescending. She explained and then said "do you understand" like I was stupid. They schedule the first appointment with just your exam and X-rays and because then the doctor can diagnose a deep cleaning and you won't leave with your regular cleaning. I hope the office manager that is coming back on Friday sees this review because I will not let me my sister go to an office like that. Please speak to your patients with a little bit more respect. I relocated here a year ago and was very nervous about finding a new dentist out here that I can trust. If you are the overly sensitive type like myself who dreads going to the dentist, YOU WILL LOVE THIS PLACE! I must have visited at least 4 different dental offices and called a dozen others in the area, until I decided to come here for my cleaning and having a much needed crown put in two months later. Their prices on crowns are by far much more reasonable than any other dental office I visited or called. Maria at the front desk is very efficient, and Andarias is hands down the most gentle dental hygienist I have ever encountered in my life! Not only is he very good at what he does, but he's very professional, patient and kind, and really listens to you. As he's doing the work, he will constantly check on you to make sure you're comfortable and not experiencing any pain. His Dental Assistant is also a total sweetheart, very pleasant, and great at her job as well. The Dr. is equally as amazing who will surprise you when you meet her because she looks like she just jumped off the cover of Vogue! Lol! She is stunning! She is so easy to talk to, very transparent, and you can tell she really cares about her patients. She made recommendations for me for much needed work I'll need in the future, but was never pushy about it. I would give them more stars if I could! I love the staff! They are so helpful, welcoming, and sweet. The nurse who did my cleaning today was making jokes with me and we laughed together. My first encounter with the actual dentist was kind of creepy if I'm being honest he's an older man and I'm a 21 year old girl so I get it but the jokes made in that situation we're very unnecessary. He just rambles about his life and accomplishments which is great but your supposed to listen to your patient. Went here for an initial visit and didn't agree with what the dentist had planned. Before even doing a cleaning, they had some big costs planned for my dental care so I was a bit suspicious. When I expressed some trepidation, the dentist she was very callous and changed her tone completely with me and said, "In this world we all get used to things, you just have to get used to it." I went to another dental office in La Mesa. The new office made completely different suggestions for my dental care, without me telling them what Rancho Dental Arts had planned. The La Mesa dentist's office seemed much more appropriate so I decided to continue seeing that dentist. I requested my X-rays (my new dentist requested them to minimize radiation exposure for another set of X-rays in their office) from Rancho Dental Arts and they said my insurance had not paid the dues yet and therefore had to charge me $50 per x ray (one for me and one for my son). I thought that was weird, thought that they had to provide records regardless and the La Mesa dentist indeed confirmed this and said Rancho Dental Arts shouldn't be withholding records because of insurance issues and it's basically illegal to do that. Also, it's not practicing proper medical ethics to make patients expose themselves to further radiation because you want to nickel and dime them. Patient medical records belong to the patient by law. I wouldn't recommend this office, for obvious reasons. The front desk girl was probably doing what is asked of her by her superiors but still shady nonetheless. All I needed was the X-rays, it shouldn't have been an issue. Verified with other medical professionals as well. read more

Rancho Dental Arts is new to the area so I figured I would check them out - I've heard their hygienist Lidia is amazing at cleanings and my previous dentist is in Torrey Pines, I didn't want to drive too far anymore for good dental care. Wow, I am so glad I did! The office is very clean and has welcoming music with a TV screen for some entertainment while you wait - not that I did. Check in was very quick and Lidia cleaned my teeth to perfection in less than an hour. I'm so impressed with this place! If you are in need of a new dentist, or you're sick of being told you have 12 cavities / need a deep cleaning for no reason, check this place out. So my first review was removed for some reason. But I will just go ahead and say that this place does not deserve five stars again. They botched my appointment after confirming twice. When I arrived the dentist did not know what I was scheduled for and had me retake X-rays to see if he could do the work. Then I was referred to an outside oral surgeon anyway. Then the oral surgeon they referred me to did not accept my insurance (Blue Shield. What am I supposed to do, just pay out of pocket?). When I said I was annoyed about their service finally (after being extremely patient with all this) the "owner/hygienist/receptionist" kid started arguing with me about it. Simply very poor service, bad office organization, and would not trust them with my teeth. Also, I am very suspicious of these five star reviews here. They are probably written by their staff. I spent a lot of time checking reviews, insurances, and verifying licenses before I chose this practice. The dentist who examined me was not listed anywhere in my original search and I didn't know I'd be seeing him. Two other dentists' names are listed for this practice and those were the ones I researched. The dentist who saw me (Dr. B) is very friendly and outgoing, but I ended up leaving after X-rays and exam before they prepared my plan. I have had a lot of dental work in my life owing to problems from an auto accident 35 years ago and a bout of cancer which can really do a job on teeth. The accident affected my bite as well as my teeth. The front section of my lower jaw was broken and, over many years, the teeth died requiring several root canals and crowns. I've had enough work performed by a variety of dentists to discern the shuttle-you-in-the-backoffice-for-upselling-and-credit-arrangements kind of practice from smaller-sized practices not necessarily focused on volume. While I cannot say for sure what kind of practice this is because I left early, I'm leaning toward the former for Rancho Dental Arts. After X-rays and exam by Dr. B., it was apparent that he wasn't interested in saving one tooth in particular (a close-to-front tooth, infected and needing a root canal/crown). There are also a couple of needed extractions (thanks a lot, chemo), and my teeth aren't picture-perfect. This man wanted to either crown everything or extract most everything. I was flabbergasted. Full disclosure: my coverage is through Medi-cal/Denti-cal which, until a couple of years ago, offered only limited coverage and appeared to be a factor in this dentist's mind because he mentioned Denti-cal coverage limitations a couple of times during exam. I have never had a dentist suggest extracting teeth because my coverage was limited. Denti-cal through Medi-cal has been restored to a level of coverage as good or better than what I had while employed in Corporate America. Perhaps this dentist does not know of the recent robust improvements to Denti-cal benefits. He actually expected me to be happy with an extracted front tooth without root canal and crown because "Medi-cal only pays so much". I called Denti-cal a second time after the visit (I had called beforehand to verify coverages) and, again, Dental-cal reassured me the plan really does offer full coverage for pretty much anything dental: crowns, root canals, fillings, periodontal, partials, dentures, etc., are all fully covered by my plan. Even if they weren't, this man didn't know if my copay resources are limited. I believe he made a judgement about my mouth because of his misconception in how my teeth came to be like they are and then deemed them a lost cause - why he imagined I wouldn't mind having multiple missing teeth. Without knowing their backstory, he even presumed that two very viable teeth that have had intentional notches made in them to accommodate a permanent partial bridge are "snaggle teeth" and should be extracted. Overall, my experience was unpleasant and insulting. On the bright side, the front-office staff is lovely. The office is very attractive, clean, and clearly professionally run. It's obvious they're doing something right because it's a very busy practice with several operatories, a large and friendly staff, and what appears to be top level equipment. If your needs are extensive and you have considerable resources or top-of-the-line insurance, or if they're not extensive and you're a Denti-cal patient, or apparently if you're not a Denti-cal patient and you see Dr. B, perhaps your experience will be different from mine. For my part, I'm going to look for another kind of dentist (like most I've had in the past) - one who's committed to preserving as much as possible and remedying everything else with severe measures the very last option. I dislike leaving an extended and negative review like this, but I feel it's important that anyone needing complicated dental work seriously considers more than one opinion, especially if Dr. B is involved. read more

Today I went to this dentistry after coming from Bright Now Dental (the worst dentistry ever!). For my first time going there, by far the best dentistry. They took me in right away. Great customer service, the owner (Lidia) is super sweet and funny. The other lady in the front desk is very nice and helpful as well. The doctor is very honest. Apparently I have been needing my wisdom teeth pulled out according to bright now but when I went to Rancho dental arts he told me there was no need and he saved me a huge amount of money.
