Karla B.

I can't express enough how grateful we are with Dr Grant McGann!! He was patient and very carrying with the extraction of my daughters 2 teeth! He took his time and addressed any questions or concerns we had! The day of the extraction he was done in 10 min tops!! He then perdí ally called later in the day to see how she was doing and a few weeks later he sent a thank you card with a gift certificate for bring such a brave patient!! Best service hands down!! The staff was also amazing!!

Lower jaw the night BEFORE surgery.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr. McGann and his wonderful team at McGann Facial Design. I had to have major jaw surgery this spring and I'm so glad that I went with Dr. McGann. If you need to go through a jaw or wisdom tooth procedure I would highly recommend. There's literally no cons so here are all of the pros: - scheduling appointments is easy and they always start right on time. - everyone who works in the office is super-duper nice. Seriously, it's amazing - it's like they are all always in a good mood and happy to see you. - they are very clear about how much is covered by insurance and how much you are responsible for paying prior to getting started. - surgery itself was so easy. You will be made aware of any risks but you will also be in very capable hands. Im so happy with how my jaw looks post-procedure (I had an underbite before - now it's gone!) - strong follow up. Dr. McGann will continue to follow your progress after the surgery to make sure that you are recovering as expected. -bonus: stylish & clean office! I am so happy I went to Dr. McGann for my jaw surgery. It made what at first seemed like an intimidating process to be easy and as painless as possible. I really appreciate all that he and his team do!

Is there a consultation fee?

Hi TJ, thanks for reaching out! There is a consultation fee and the cost depends on what we are seeing you for, but often times your insurance covers it, if you haven't reached your frequency limitiation with them.

Do you accept Medi-Cal?

Hi Hadyn, Thanks for contacting us. Unfortunately we are opted out of Medi-Cal so any services done in our office would be immediately denied by that insurance. If you…

Does it hurt to be awake for your wisdom extract procedure?

General anesthesia is generally recommended for extraction of impacted or multiple teeth. While some people do stay awake, and it's always an option, more discomfort is felt while awake. Multiple numbing shots can be expected and once that's done…

Do they put you to sleep for wisdom teeth extraction?

Yes, you can go under anesthesia, laughing gas, or just have the area numbed.

The entire process from he picking up the tool to extract my tooth to finishing the surgery only took 10 seconds. Smooth and sweet. Not much pain. I did not know that I was that lucky until talking with my friend afterward who told me that her dentist spent half an hour messing around in her mouth to extract a tooth and the wound had been swelling for a week after the surgery. They were amazed by how quickly I was recovering and how normal that my face looked like. Today is my fourth day after the operation. I do not have much bleeding after the first day and has minimal swelling that my friend could barely notice when we handed out yesterday. The wound is recovering smoothly. I am following the doctor's instruction to take the pill regularly to prevent infection. So far so good! On last Friday, the nurse from Dr. Machado's office even called me to check-in and see if everything is doing ok. They are very caring! One last thing, the price of this operation is very reasonable. Dr.Machado has a very high consultant rate, but in terms of the wisdom teeth surgery itself, it is actually 100$ cheaper than another dentist I have consulted in San Francisco. Ignore everything I just say about the money if you are in Delta dental PPO because the insurance covers 90% of them and you just need to pay a tiny to get all the thing done! In summary, Dr. Machado is a very professional and skillful dentist. His can conduct the wisdom teeth extraction operation in a smooth and fast fashion. Not much pain throughout the entire process and you will recover very quickly. The team is very caring and thoughtful in helping you recover and prevent any infections. The price is very reasonable if you have Delta Dental PPO insurance. That's all, let me know if you have any question and all the best!

Dr Machado performed a double jaw surgery on me in 2012 - thirteen years ago. I really haven't been able to put into words that he completely changed my entire life. I cannot express enough gratitude and thanks for being able to live the last 13 years happy with my face, after hating looking in the mirror for my entire life prior. Dr Machado is the single most pivotal person in my life after my family. No longer having my appearance be a daily negative factor in my life is best gift I could have ever received. Dr. Machado and his office fought hard for my parents to get the surgery approved through insurance, made a critical last minute decision to go for double jaw surgery instead of having to do two as originally planned, which was so amazing. He was available during my after care and I always felt like I was in good hands and that he was available should I ever need him... which I did a couple years later. My favorite experience was a year or so later when I came back in to get a screw removed - Dr Machado looked at my face and said something to the effect of "I could lowered the top teeth slightly more" - which is something I had considered in passing. I am more than thrilled with my face, its an absolute success by every measure and by any other doctor would be considered 'perfect' - but I am even more appreciative that Dr. Machado cares down the millimeters and scrutinizes your face just as much or more as you do. He is a true artist and a perfectionist. When you undergo this type of surgery you need to have someone you can trust with your appearance, especially in the trying times when you have to wait months to a year for the final result. Dr. Machado is someone who can and will deliver that for you. Thank you for completely changing the entire direction of my life. Thank you for giving my the self confidence I never had. Thank you for my face! Thank you so much!

But Dr. Hens made the experience easy. My comfort was constantly monitored. They have blankets and pillows. Throughout the procedure, they checked in with me regularly.. Explanations and warnings for every sensation. I did not experience any pain, which is rare for me as Novacaine tends to wear off quickly on me. And from the evaluation to the completed root canal, I never doubted the expertise of the staff and Dr. Hens. They have this cool 3-D image thing and they do the x-rays in your chair so it is much simplified. She also takes the time to explain everything and answer all your questions. I never felt rushed. I have been putting up with a lower standard of care for far too long and I highly recommend this office if you have any insecurities or fears or hesitations about the work you need done. I was told by the dentist that pain proved I needed a root canal. I was also told the endodontist on staff there did not do evaluations. That was not the kind of care I want. I need more than just a flippant explanation. We were talking about removing and excavating a nerve from my head, which happened to be in my molar. So I sought out an endodontist to evaluate my tooth pulp. Dr. Hens was very thorough and I felt comfortable and certain that I needed the root canal after visiting her. It was not about sales. It was demonstrated through imagery and explanation and made complete sense.

Unfortunately, an extremely…read moreunpleasant interaction with a male front desk employee caused me to reconsider returning for treatment. At checkout, I requested that my $218 consultation fee be applied toward the cost of my root canal since I am a cash-paying patient, and the person who scheduled my appointment suggested I could ask. A male employee sitting next to her abruptly interjected into my conversation with the young lady assisting me by telling me to explain it to him. After I explained my request, he repeatedly stated, "The consultation fee is the consultation fee, and the procedure fee is the procedure fee." Despite explaining several times that I was simply following the suggestion of the scheduling staff, he continued challenging me and questioned whether I had obtained that person's name. What I found particularly offensive was his condescending tone, dismissive facial expressions, repeated interruptions, and overall disrespectful attitude. His behavior was unnecessarily confrontational, leaving me feeling belittled and humiliated simply for asking a question. I finally requested the office manager, who offered to ask Dr. Cameron about applying the fee. The male employee attempted to discourage her TWICE, insisting that the doctor was in a procedure. Thankfully, she proceeded anyway and returned with Dr. Cameron's approval to apply the consultation fee toward my root canal. The very request this employee repeatedly dismissed was approved by the doctor! I had every intention of scheduling my procedure with Dr. Cameron, who had previously performed a root canal for me. My experience with him had been positive, and I trusted his work. Unfortunately, I could not, in good conscience, return after being treated so disrespectfully by this employee. I appreciate the office manager's professionalism and Dr. Cameron's consideration. However, it's unfortunate that a practice with a skilled doctor can lose a returning patient because of one employee's behavior. Patients deserve courtesy and respect, not intimidation or humiliation, especially when making a request suggested by the practice's own staff!

I see a lot of reviews talking about upselling and unnecessary treatment and I feel like I must say that whilst in my specific case this would not at all be relevant, it would take truly corrupt individual to do this to what is essentially a patient in a healthcare setting. I cannot in my wildest dreams see Dr. Aldo ever doing something like this - nor do I believe her to work in an environment in which this would ever take place. I stand firm in my belief that Bella Vita Dental is not capable of fostering this sort of behavior. The front desk staff were friendly and inviting and thorough with the answers to my questions, and Dr. Aldo and her team of dental assistants were kind, compassionate, and needless to say, all my issues were addressed and I am back to pain free. Whilst I do not look forward to the next time I have dental issues; I find comfort knowing I'm in great, compassionate hands with Dr. Aldo and all those at Bella Vita Dental.

TL;DR: The billing service that Bella Vita employs filed 2 insurance claims with incorrect billing…read moreinformation, which were denied by my insurance, and are refusing to update that info and resubmit the claim (as recommended by my insurance) and are leaving me with an outstanding $1167 bill. I was a patient with Bella Vita for about 5 years until I moved away last October. I decided to start Invisalign with them in May 2025 and paid my quoted amount ($2411) in full the day treatment started. To my surprise, in April 2026 I received a call that my claim had been denied by my insurance but they would help me out and file another claim that would hopefully be approved by Delta Dental but if that claim was denied, they would file an appeal for me. I got a text on May 11, 2026 that I had an outstanding balance that amounted to ~50% ($1167) of what I originally paid at the start of my treatment so I called to ask what happened and Emily at the front desk told that they filed an appeal for my denied claim but couldn't answer any insurance or billing questions due to the fact that their billing department is not done "in house" so they would have to relay all my questions to a separate service. The office also refused to give me any contact information for their billing department so I'm forced to play telephone with the office and their billing department but also said they could not tell me why my claims had been denied. I was, however, told that my benefits for ortho had been maxed out. I called my insurance immediately after that initial call and they told me that, no, my claim was not denied due to my coverage being maxxed out (it has not been at that point) but because there were errors with the billing information on the claims that were submitted. The insurance rep also notified me that they had no appeal on file, so either there is some technical issue on the insurance side or the office lied about filing an appeal for that 2nd denied claim. The insurance rep told me it was an easy fix and that the office's billing department just need to update that billing info, resubmit, and it should be approved. From May until August of this year, I've called 6 times asking for updates and relaying the message that all they have to do is update their incorrect billing info and resubmit the claim and it should be approved. Everytime I call, I'm met with "The claim was already filed and denied twice so there's not much we can do, but we'll ask the billing department again." I've tried asking for the practice manager and have been told "she's not at her desk but she will call you later" and I never receive that call. All in all, be wary of this place. Since their billing is not done in house, no one at the office can answer specific billing questions and refuse to give contact info for that billing office so you're forced to play telephone with them and their billing department if you ever have an insurance issue.
