Dr Machado performed a double jaw surgery on me in 2012 - thirteen years ago. I really haven't been able to put into words that he completely changed my entire life. I cannot express enough gratitude and thanks for being able to live the last 13 years happy with my face, after hating looking in the mirror for my entire life prior. Dr Machado is the single most pivotal person in my life after my family. No longer having my appearance be a daily negative factor in my life is best gift I could have ever received. Dr. Machado and his office fought hard for my parents to get the surgery approved through insurance, made a critical last minute decision to go for double jaw surgery instead of having to do two as originally planned, which was so amazing. He was available during my after care and I always felt like I was in good hands and that he was available should I ever need him... which I did a couple years later. My favorite experience was a year or so later when I came back in to get a screw removed - Dr Machado looked at my face and said something to the effect of "I could lowered the top teeth slightly more" - which is something I had considered in passing. I am more than thrilled with my face, its an absolute success by every measure and by any other doctor would be considered 'perfect' - but I am even more appreciative that Dr. Machado cares down the millimeters and scrutinizes your face just as much or more as you do. He is a true artist and a perfectionist. When you undergo this type of surgery you need to have someone you can trust with your appearance, especially in the trying times when you have to wait months to a year for the final result. Dr. Machado is someone who can and will deliver that for you. Thank you for completely changing the entire direction of my life. Thank you for giving my the self confidence I never had. Had to call special number at Medical/Dentical to disenroll in any insurances other than Medicare/Medicaid. By the time I did that, The day before I was to have all my teeth removed (for dentures), I found out Medicare and Medicaid put me back on Molina so my procedure would not be covered. Aaaargh. Answer: Had to call medical/Dentical AGAIN and get disenrolled AGAIN. By then Park Oral Surgery had cancelled my appointment. "Fit me in" the next day when disenrollment was confirmed. That meant going at 8:30 a.m. No drink, no food. Waited til 2 p.m. to have surgery. What a f"ing nightmare. So it happened, but I cannot believe other's with less business savvy can follow this stuff.

As soon as I arrived, they told me I suddenly had multiple cavities and needed a crown. For context, I've always been strict with my dental hygiene--regular appointments, flossing daily, no pain, and my previous dentist rarely found anything wrong. Because I take my dental health seriously, I told them to proceed with whatever treatment they believed was necessary, but only if they confirmed everything with my insurance first. They assured me it was all covered, so I went ahead with the fillings and crown. After the work was done, I was suddenly told that my insurance didn't cover everything, and I was left with a $1,000 bill. They offered a $150 discount, which felt dismissive. It's clear they don't prioritize patients and will find ways to overcharge. UPDATE: I have recently been in contact with their practice manager, Bree. She is currently assisting me with my account and the amount owed that was sent to collections. She let me know that she could see the discrepancies and is A assisting me with the amount owed and removing it off of collections. Given my experience, she has been very helpful and extremely communicative which has allowed me to change my review.
