I was so happy when my girlfriend introduced me to Aloha Sweet Delites' manju and baked goods. It's delish! So worth it was my impromptu stop. What a delicious hidden gem. In addition to their tasty manju, the cinnamon twists I purchased lasted me a few minutes because I inhaled the whole bag in one sitting. Yummy and a full tummy! Their cinnamon mini toasts are also another addicting treat. Times a convenient affair when Aloha Sweet Delites is not only a bakery but also in tandem as a great mini grocery store. Case and point: I found their corn nuts insanely addicting after the first kennel was chewed loudly lol. I'd definitely frequent this bakery-convenience store whenever in the area. There were so many other baked goods I didn't get to try but will remedy that in the foreseeable future. Only regret is my inability to enjoy their honeydew tapioca if I was to avoid an allergic reaction to the melon. Will wait for another melon or fruit tapioca. Aloha Sweet Delites - we got a date soon!

Stopped by Kauai Menehune Kitchen after visiting Waimea Canyon on the way back to Lihue and it…read moreended up being one of the most memorable meals I had on the island. It's such a cute little mom-and-pop spot, super welcoming and simple in the best way. The second you walk in, it just feels warm and genuine. The roasted pork rice dish was honestly the best I've ever had in my life. The pork was perfectly cooked, so flavorful along with the cravy, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and homemade. Best mac salad as well. They have other rice dishes too, can't wait to come back to try these. You can really tell how much care goes into the food here. And the malasadas... easily some of the freshest we had in Kauai. Soft, warm, and just perfect -- the kind you wish you had ordered more of right away. They have both simple malasadas and filled ones (get the coconut one!!!) The whole experience honestly felt like you were eating at your auntie's house. So comforting, so friendly, and just really special. If you're anywhere near Hanapepe, this place is 100% worth stopping for. I'm already thinking about that roasted pork and can't wait to come back next time I'm in Kauai.

Another cooking our malasada order. Our church has ordered their malasadas which I enjoyed and wanted. They generously donated some as well. I ordered 6 with vanilla filling and no sugar (so I could warm up without burning). And 2 with sugar to eat immediately. They gave us extras ... Plain with sugar (it was doughy on the inside could've used extra time in the fryer) I gave this to my daughter who air fried it and said it was ono! Honestly, it's not your Leonard's but it's pretty decent on the heavier side which I like. The person that helped was very sweet... Will go back to try their other food and maybe a couple more malasadas!!

We ordered the Lilikoi, Haupia, and Ube malasadas -- and WOW. All of them were so good, but the ube was our favorite! Soft, fluffy, perfectly sweet, and filled with so much flavor. You can really taste the freshness. The employees were also so sweet and kind, which made the experience even better. It's always nice to feel welcomed, especially early in the morning. Another big plus is the private parking lot with plenty of spaces -- super convenient! There's also lots of outdoor seating in a courtyard surrounded by beautiful plumeria trees (and some friendly chickens walking around), which adds to the whole island charm. Such a delicious and peaceful spot to start your day -- we'd definitely come back again!

Unfortunately being from Oahu with having Leonard's Bakery malasadas, these malasadas were rather mid compared to that. The guava filling was the artificially flavored type. But other than that it was a decent/above average sweet treat. The malasadas itself I'd say was 3 stars. However, the star was the Java Chip Mocha Frappuccino. The thing I loved most about it was that the java chips were small enough where it never got stuck in the straw and was evenly consistent with every sip. By far the best java chip mocha frappuccino in my book! I'd come back for this one. It made starbucks seem mid tbh. Service was friendly and efficient. And the ambiance, though quite small it was fresh with the smell of a malasadas bakery :) Plus a few tables and plenty parking outside. Overall I'd give it a 4 stars. Definitely coming back for that java chip frappuccino YUM!!!

I'd explain it as an apple pie with baby bananas, and cobbler like crumbles on top. It's wonderful. One of the things I appreciate the most about this shop is that the staff is so nice about questions. I hear them answering all kinds of questions for almost every customer that comes in. They answer with patience and kindness. Overall it's got a lovely interior that feels like a hometown pie shop. It has interior seating. There is parking outside in front of the shop. Hope you visit because it's a very nice place for dessert or savory pies to go.

The last time I had a pot pie was at a KFC Irvine, CA & it doesn't compare to this. The pot pie here is so good, tasty and savory, it is Fire!! The hot pot pie comes in meat with over 10+ varieties, inluding vegetarian and Gluten Free. Besides the chicken pot pie, we enjoyed a slice of macadamia sweet pie, it was so hard to decide on what flavors since they all sound so good! I try to squeeze The Right Slice in when we visit the Garden Isle and try to make it out to here, this side of the Kauai. I can't wait to be back for more, if you are here you are definitely- getting The Right Slice!!

We stopped by on a Tuesday around 8:30AM and got our pick of malasadas to try out! Kauai Bakery is located in a shopping plaza with plenty of ample parking, making it very easy to stop by and grab some delicious pastries. Service is like your typical bakery, you pick what you would like and they get it to you so you can stuff your face immediately after purchase. Ambiance is cozy with plenty of pastries to pick from in the large display case. We got 4 flavors of Malasadas for $16, which is $4 per doughnut, which I think is a decent price for the size and heft. The flavors we sampled were Lilikoi, Coconut, and Guava - out of these flavors, the coconut one was my personal favorite! The flavor was exactly what I would want anything coconut cream flavor should taste, creamy texture with a pleasant coconut taste that didn't taste artificial at all. It captured the floral background taste that is missing from a lot of coconut desserts that makes coconut so pleasing to eat! The Lilikoi one was my next favorite, it had a slight tartness and a more subtly pronounced flavor - I think I was looking for something stronger personally. Lastly was the guava one, which actually tasted a bit artificial and didn't have a pronounced flavor at all, which was unfortunate. Despite this critique, I would still glady inhale 2 or 3 of them because the dough was really pillowy and really enjoyable to eat. I think that the pastries here (at least the malasadas) are very solid and priced competitively vs most things here on Kauai. I would totally come back to get several more of the malasadas as well as try the other pastry options on the menu. Stop by and give this bakery a try if you are in the area!
