This place is so similar to Rain or Shine in the hotpot model (base + upgrades) that I thought that the former had rebranded, but actually they're next door to each other. Tomato & miao spicy sour were so similar - one was a spicy version of the other. Both were so so in flavour - a bit dilute.  The hotpot ingredients were of decent quality. The balls were pretty springy.  The food came with a free flow of plum juice which was of below average sweetness & concentration.  The skewers were good - tender & flavourful. The cooked dishes & desserts I tried were pretty good.  Service was a bit below average because there was only one server. This was partly mitigated by the cat server robots, which were cuter/more annoying (ymmv with the kid voice) & more advanced than usual (you could press a button to send them back to the kitchen). There's some attempt to give a kungfu theme to the place which is cute. We got a promo for free upgrade to Diamond for free Skewers so value was pretty good

This spot is hidden on the 2nd floor of the mall. I enjoyed this hot pot skewer place. It's AYCE hot pot and if you upgrade to the diamond menu (by reviewing them in social media and paying cash), you get unlimited BBQ skewers too. The skewers were really good. Menu was massive and very extensive. Highly recommend it! You can split the soup bases with your party. There's also a cute robot that brings you the food from the kitchen, and a huge selection on the side of the restaurant where you can personally get your hot pot items. We upgraded to the diamond menu and ended up paying $43 per person. Service was good too, but they only speak Cantonese/Mandarin and limited English. Overall, I would come again if I'm craving hot pot!

Come hungry - Kungfu Hotpot Skewer is a mouthful to say, and will have you chewing mouthfuls of food for a couple of hours! We came on a Wednesday, right when they opened at 11:30. Situated inside a 3-level indoor mall, the restaurant is kind of hidden on the second level. The decor was simple with wooden tables and chairs. The 3 people in my party still felt cramped at a table meant for 4. The chairs are literally touching one another and the legs of the wooden table doesn't allow for much leg room. With a big pot in the centre, there is barely any space left on the table for the raw food, cooked foods, drinks, bowls and plates. The menu was impossible to understand the one staff spoke mostly Mandarin and very little English. I guess they were still serving food left over from the night before because there were only a few skewers left in each tray and they looked dried out. One thing I like enjoy was our soup base - coconut chicken. This is an AYCE place. The raw foods are on long skewers and you cook them in the boiling pot in the centre of the table. Some raw foods are self serve while others are brought out from the kitchen. I think the bbq foods are cooked in the restaurant next door (same owner) and are cold by the time we get them. There was an entire open fridge full of red marinated meats which we didn't touch at all. The frozen beef/pork/lamb rolls were no different than the ones sold in the supermarket (rather than the beautifully fresh and red looking beef slices you'll get elsewhere). We did eat a lot of their Chinese veggies, tried one of most items, and finally found these deliciously plump har gows. I'm not sure how the pricing works as there is an ayce price, but then there's different charges for the soup bases, then a per skewer or per bbq item price - it was all very convoluted. At the end of our meal, the lady charged us $30pp and even at that price for lunch, I don't know if I'll return.

I saw their promotion on FB for their anniversary special 12% cash discount, AYCE Snow Crab legs or the free upgrade with BBQ skewers when you share your review on the social media. We decided to give it a try. This is not a typical hot pot place, they have a lot of skewers to try, and a lot of them are marinated. This makes the soup become very salty and is better to ask them to fill up with hot water instead of their soup base. The BBq skewer on the other hand tastes great. You can taste that it is from a real charcoal grill.

First time trying AYCE skewers + hotpot! Only $26.5!!! KungFu Hotpot Skewer is a Chinese AYCE located in King Square. You can choose to have your skewers grilled or boiled in the hotpot. (Personally I like it to be boiled more) After visiting another skewer shop recently with a bill of $50/person, I find this AYCE to be a great deal since I had better skewers here and only had to pay $26.5 for AYCE!

Came here for the 12% off promo which ends dec10 2023 which includes ayce crab legs too. It was difficult to communicate with the staff because they were mostly fluent in mandarin/cantonese, but they were very friendly and tried to answer our questions as best they could. Food was decent but price was really good. The decor was well done too.

The ambiance was terrible. We encountered a videography company that was filming around the restaurant for some sort of promo. They were using their hands and filming and touching the all you can eat area, which was quite disgusting. They shined bright light and pointed cameras into our table making us extremely uncomfortable. They had the audacity to come yell at us thinking we didn't understand their language. I will highly suggest you refrain doing videography and marketing services during Friday evenings.... Nothing wrong with the overall service but they planned a bad time to do filming on a Friday night

This place is quite interestingly decorated with beautiful peach blossoms. There were a lot of variety of vegetables skewered with well marinated beef slices to choose from. There were not a great variety of meats for an all you can eat restaurant. A waitress was dressed in ancient costume. For an adult, it was $27.99 and you would need to choose a soup base which ranged from $16.99 to 19.99 to be shared amongst the table. We chose the mala soup with medium heat. It was not too spicy for my liking. All the meat and vegetables were all pretty fresh. I especially like the mushroom which was really similar to oyster mushroom since it was really tasty. The bill came to around $38 per person with tax and tips which was okay since it was all you can eat. I was really full without consuming any carbs.

Moving my 3.5 to a 4 star review because I came back a second time within their first week of opening. They have scallops this time! And cantaloupes. And some food that have additional costs.

checked out this new place for chengdu hotpot on skewers located inside this "still-very-new" chinese mall, with elevators that didn't work from underground parking and pretty much the only store that's currently opened. the mall itself has great potential so it's a great location! their levels of spices for soup base: fairy spicy hero spicy heaven spicy (we went for the hero spicy and was almost dying!!) It was a good numbing spice though. note to self: this place had no ventilation and we walked out smelling like herbal tea hotpot, so don't wear anything fancy if you don't want it to stink after. food was good but no alcohol license yet and ran out of soft drinks. They take reservations, so it's always good to call before visiting!

We called ahead since we are a party 6+. We had to try multiple times because our call was left unanswered.. Overall food was great .. until I found something shiny stuck to a shrimp in the hotpot. I was able to figure out what it was once I took it out. A flexible SHARP STEEL filament - Likely from steel wool. GROSS!!!!! And DANGEROUS!!! After I found that, it ruined my appetite and night. I became paranoid and worried about my family biting into steel. Will this result in a trip to the hospital? The server was apologetic and helped us change the broth immediately but honestly I wish there was more from management. It's not like finding a strand of hair. This is serious!!! Daimaru's lack of food safety and poor hygiene is unacceptable. I am still fuming that this happened. They are lucky I found it before any of the 7 seniors found it stuck in their throat or intestines. The nice servers had to hear our anger and frustration. Eventually after the second complaint from us did the manager finally decide to come in personally and address it. Should have addressed it the moment it happened in my opinion. If you eat here, eat at your own risk and check your food carefully. Attaching our receipt of the resolution: 10% off our entire bill. Won't be recommending to anyone.

Staff were attentive and things came out at a good pace. It hasn't been overly busy the times I've gone, so hard to say how it holds up during peak hours, but no issues from my visits so far. Food 3.5/5 Solid selection of hotpot ingredients, with enough variety to keep things interesting. Quality was consistent across the board. They also have a bamboo-style drink that stands out visually and fits the whole theme well. Nothing felt lacking, but also nothing that completely blew past expectations. One thing I did notice is it hasn't been packed during my visits, which either means I've been going at quieter times or there are aspects I haven't fully experienced yet during peak hours. Still, for the atmosphere, parking convenience, and overall quality, it's an easy spot to come back to.

We started boiling the base and then we got the 2 bowls of meat, 1 bowl of vegetables, and a bowl of the noodles. The base was pretty sweet, but still good with all the ingredients. The dipping sauces were set on a central table that we made our own. I like sesame oil, sesame sauce, Shacha sauce with green onion and cilantro to mix them up.
