There's alot of bubble tea places downtown but surprisingly only a handful of them offer the "Brown Sugar Boba" sort of a caramelized melted tapioca into milk bubble tea. The result looks like marble and it tastes as good as it sounds. Kung Fu Tea is probably one of my favorite for this drink, the only reason I didn't give 4/5 is because the top of it isn't torched in front of you, a nice touch that some other places offer which makes a sort of creme brulee finish.

Kung Fu Tea just opened this new location on Spadina and College, super super close to the Kensington Market and U of T campus. They have a variety of different bubble tea drinks from their signature brown sugar series to milk tea to fruit tea and even slushies too. I tried out their Pearl Taro Latte which was basically the perfect combination of all my favourite toppings! Their tapioca pearls were surprisingly super super chewy~ it had a slight brown sugar taste too which added to the sweetness a bit. The mashed taro inside had some quite chunky bits, gave great texture. Their top 1 popular drink is the pearl milk with brown sugar was also pretty good too. Overall, great clean space, variety of bubble tea so definitely have something for everyone's taste Pearl Taro Latte - $6.3 Pearl Latte with brown sugar - $5.2

Small bubbletea shop that also serves pastries and Filipino meals…read more Their standout offering, of course, is the bubbletea. The tea is loose-leaf, so is elevated from the typical bubbletea. But it's the tapioca that really makes the drink shine with how fresh and bouncy they are. For a tea shop, this place also has really good food. Tried the scones and they were super buttery, very flavourful, and were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside like all great scones. We also got some Filipino meals - the lechon kawali and lumpia super crispy, the bangsilog had a good portion size for the price, and the halo-halo was refreshing. Place is mainly a takeout spot, but there are a couple of small tables to sit 4. Service is friendly. Tea offerings are extensive. Worth a drop-by.

Walking in, there's a great amount of cakes, cookies, and drinks. Cookies: The matcha white chocolate cookie was freshly made. Quite soft and delicious. Reasonably sized cookie. Yema cake: It was my first time having the Yema cake so I was looking forward to try it. I got the ube flavour and a soft chiffon cake texture. It wasn't too sweet and was perfect for a nice small dessert. The staff were friendly and the service was good. It's too bad there's limited seating as it would be great to dine-in. I definitely want to come back to try out their drinks!
