The ladies were very patient and helpful as I tried to figure out what to order. I ended up with Winter Melon Tea with Mango Jelly. It was a bit too sweet, but that's ok because you can choose your sweetness level. Next time I'll know to ask for "less sweet" My only complaint was that even though they had about 5 different teas, they wouldn't really let me customize the flavor because it wasn't a choice on the menu. I'll still go back because they have a great selection of beverages.
Ordered the strawberry lemonade! It was very refreshing! Staff were super nice and friendly. Fast service on a Monday afternoon and no line. Yes- please! The next time your at Destiny USA- you gotta grab a boba, milk tea or lemonade from Kung Fu tea!
Kung Fu Tea is a franchised brand with plenty of locations around the US - as well as locations in Australia, Canada, and Vietnam. Admittedly, I'm usually a bit of a snob about chain locations, but the Kung Fu Tea location in Destiny USA is pretty top notch for a chain location. Kung Fu Tea isn't some artisan bubble tea place, so it's good to keep your expectations in check... but their teas are tasty AND you can customize your bubble tea for your tastes (plus, they have special flavors during various seasons). Some places make bubble teas that are way too sweet for me, for example, or they fill them up with ice and leave minimal room for actual tea and boba. Kung Fu Tea's ordering process allows you to customize for those tastes... and I always get my tea orders with less sugar and less ice. Every time I've ordered tea from this location, the taste is just what I'm looking for. Also, this location specifically is exceedingly quick at filling drink orders (which, considering there's a sizable line pretty much 9 times out of 10? The prompt service definitely helps) AND the prices are reasonable. TL;DR Dependable stop for bubble tea, especially when wandering through Destiny USA for some shopping. My tea orders have always tasted as expected, and the service is VERY quick.
Located on the second floor of Destiny USA close to Michael's craft supply store, this bubble tea joint was a must visit over my labor day weekend. All summer I've been getting acquainted with the deliciously sweet, milky and bubbly concoctions but they always been from large franchises. Unfortunately I have not tried these in Asia and can't tell if it's the "real deal", but Kung Fu Tea looked successful judging by the amount of people waiting in line. I got the honey milk tea with pearls and my partner got the coffee milk tea. Service was speedy, drinks were made to our specifications however what disappointed me the most was the lack of flavored milk tea options. Compared to other places, Kung Fu does not offer many fruity variety of their milk teas. I was hoping for exotic flavors like mango or lychee but the menu is limited. I also thought that they were not very generous with the amount of bubbles scooped into my tea and these pearls were too soft. I understand there are cooked in batches throughout the day so it could just be a fluke. It should be noted that all their milk teas are made with non-dairy milk so this can be a plus for anyone with diet restrictions. If I was local I would definitely come back and try more options- for anyone considering bubble tea, or just iced tea, I say give it a shot, it's a fun treat but be careful it can get addicting! If you come often, get their mobile rewards app. Sign up for a free drink on your birthday and earn points to redeem towards free beverages.
I've never had a drink with bubbles before so I tried it for the first time & I actually liked it. I ordered the taro mik tea drink and it was pretty tasty. I recommend this drink if it's your first time here. I also tried my daughter's drink which was the taro slush drink with bubbles but that was way too sweet. I think I would have to ask for half sweet next time. Overall, I was pleased with my drink & the workers were fast & efficient. I will definitely be back.
So I decided to come back and try again! I got the rosehip milk tea, which is my favorite, and it was delicious. I tried to order with less sugar but it wasn't an option so I got regular. Still too much sugar for a bubble tea, overly sweetened. But it was delicious nonetheless. I'd suggest creating more options in terms of how much sugar to add, because other locations have options like more or less sugar. Also could've added more Boba, considering I got a large and there was a tiny bit of Boba
If it were owned by cows, and was a manure processing plant, it'd be Dung Fu Tea. But if that were the case, I think it'd be pretty gross - like, almost as gross as swimming in the Onondaga Lake without a radiation suit on. OK, not almost as gross as that. But anyway. Let's mooooooove right along with this review. What to get: Lemon Black Tea With Tapioca! Or in winter: Any of the hot milk teas! Which milk teas are best: Honey Oolong! Oolong! Maybe Taro or Almond! Generally speaking, Kung Fu Tea scores 5, but it's usually a low 5, considering that it's a massive international corporate chain, whose milk teas don't match up to the best chains: Sharetea, Gong Cha and Coco. However, they're still really good, and the fruit teas here are among the best. Especially the lemon black tea which absolutely rocks my world. The Milk Teas that do stand alongside any of the best chains, though, are the Honey Oolong and the Oolong. The Honey Milk Tea is pretty good too. But always get Black Teas, not Green Teas. They're just better. In my opinion anyway. And getting these teas hot can really change the game on a winter's day. It makes the tapioca balls hot too. The Honey Oolong in particular is sensational when hot. This particular location, hidden deep inside the former Carousel Mall (now known as Destiny USA which sounds like a stripper), has really wonderful service - and fast as well, which makes a change from the slow locations in Buffalo and Cleveland. I also noticed that all of the employees are exceptionally tall. Maybe that's what happens to you when you eat lots of tapioca? (Eats More Tapioca) My lemon teas here were lovely (twice) and next time I'm in SYR I'll stop by and give one of their hot (if winter) or cold (if not) milk teas a try. Anyway let's get some food to go with our Bubble Teas. I'm feeling kung-ry.
This is the best bubble tea i every had and trust me i tried many bubble tea's before and this is by far the best. The 2 Flavors i get is honey dew or toro. So i went with the toro with the honey milk this was very good I would definitely try this place again the staff was super friendly aswell.
I'm so excited that more bubble tea has come to the Syracuse area! if you've never had it before, now is the time to try! KFT is a popular bubble tea chain with many bubble tea options in terms of flavors, teas, sugar customizations, types and more! From the classics (plain milk black or green tea) to interesting slushes or other flavors (saw something about oreo) you are sure to find something you like here! The tapioca bubbles are excellent here and are quite sweet, so if you aren't sweet tooth, consider getting 70% or 50% sugar - and it will still be sweet. Of note, bubbles are $0.50 extra, and the smallest size is a "medium" - their bubble tea is a little bit pricey so be prepared to spend somewhere near $4 minimum on your drink The cafe is cute, clean, and modern. Service is friendly but a little slow as they're just getting started. I think eventually they'll be a fast and efficient well oiled machine that you find in their cafes elsewhere :)
I did not expect to walk by a place like Kung Fu Tea while walking around the Destiny USA mall but I'm sure glad i did! Bubble tea is huge in Toronto and I visit places like this regularly to quench my thirst, however it's not something you see very often in Western New York so I was super duper excited to try this place out. The line was pretty long on Sunday due to people who were visiting the Salt City Comic-Con (I was not one of them) coming for tea. I was extremely thirsty from spending the last few hours out in the heat walking around the zoo so I decided to get a passion fruit slush which is something I had not had in the past. The drinks only took a few minutes to come out and from there it was love at first sip. The passion fruit slush had so much delicious fruity flavour that it made me rather irritated that i had to actually wait for some of it to melt because it was, well, slush. Usually when I'm at a bubble tea place I look for the chocolate option but this place taught me to be an adult and definitely go with something fruity! Overall, Kung Fu Tea is a fantastic addition to the Destiny USA mall! I highly recommend giving this place a try and experience the craze that will hopefully be sweeping the state soon enough!
No bathroom, i guess maybe not necessary since it's inside the mall. The easiest way to find this is going to dicks sporting goods, it's across from it. Has seating inside. Accepts cards, no minimum purchase required. The fastest and most efficient kung fu tea i have been to. Knocked down a star because it is inside the mall, not the easiest to get to since destiny place is hard to find parking. Also located on a second floor. Would not recommend coming here to study, not conducive for that. Not sure if this place has wifi, but most kung fu tea does.
I ordered "green tea with milk" and the front desk gave me non-dietary creamer which contains no milk. When I pointed this out, they asked me to buy another one and told me all the bubble tea shop in the states sell "non-dietary creamer" when they say "milk tea". I refused to buy another one because I ordered "milk" in the first place. Moreover, in China, almost all the milk in milk tea actually can be replaced with real MILK. I don't drink non-dietary creamer personally and was told non-dietary creamer is bad for health in high school from my friend, so I put that so-called "milk tea" back. I'm sorry if I'm being a Karen. Just wondering if all natives actually love non-dietary creamer
Been here a handful of times and it's always good. I love that they have my favorite honeydew milk tea and my kid's favorite, mango milk tea. We don't love the tapioca balls in general and usually opt for the lychee jelly. I like that you can conveniently order on the app in advance and have it waiting for you to pickup. It's always been ready; no wait. In the app it is also easy to customize and choose sweetness level and ice cube amount. They even run deals like buy a drink on national boba day and get 1 free the next week. My other kid has found they like the strawberry milk slush and now it's their go-to. read more

This place should be 5 stars instead of 4. Although it is WAY too much money to order for you to get it at your house. Me and my friend got 2 large strawberrie milk teas with strawberrie popping bubbles, and it was 28 dollars! WAY too much, it's about 15 dollars for 2 if you just go to the mall and get some there. One guy that even works there agrees that it's way too much! He said he works there but just hates going there to get some so he orders and HE says it's way too much. But authough it's VERY expensive, it's the best drink I've ever had. TOTALLY recommend. read more

It seems everyday Syracuse is getting more amazing! I cant believe that we have a KFT now! I love bubble tea so much that I drink it religiously. Every time I go to NYC I have quite a few favorite bubble tea places that I frequent. One of those places is Kung Fu Tea...and now we freaking have one! I have already came here 5 times since they have been open and I have no shame admitting that to you all! KFT is a popular bubble tea chain that has a ton of different bubble tea options! I am positive if you go there you will find something you like. Are you a bit overwhelmed by all the choices of deliciousness they have? No worries at all! They have a top flavors chart right on the wall that will guide your way. I personally love the passion fruit green tea with boba. it is the perfect balance of sweet and the texture of the boba is exactly right! There are all kinds of sweet, creamy, and smoothie flavors that you can choose from. If you are the type of person with a super sweet tooth you can add some extra sweet. If you are a person who doesn't like it too sweet you can go all the way down to 25% sweet. My wife gets 50% herself. They are a tad pricy when it comes to bubble tea. Probably 1$ over the average. The flavor is more than worth it though. read more

Their bubble tea was okay and nothing special. The reason I gave 2 stars because of their service. I asked the staff before ordering about the difference between matcha milk and matcha milk cap, and he said "it's the same". I asked "so the milk are the same and no additional ingredients in it?" and he said yes. So I ordered matcha milk cap and bubble honey milk tea. The drinks came and I tried them. The bubble honey milk tea was okay. I've had it better somewhere else. The worst one is matcha milk cap. It tasted nasty and salty. I asked why it tasted salty and the staff said "its milk cap what you ordered" and I said "is there additional ingredients in it?" and she said "yes cream, cheese, salt". Then I said "but the staff who took my order said no additional ingredients between matcha milk and matcha milk cap before I order". The staff said that I should already know before ordering. I was like shocked and in my head was like did you listen what I said? I didn't want to argue because its useless. They just don't care because they already got my money. The line wasn't long on that day. Only two people were line behind me. I ended up threw my matcha milk cap because it taste not good at all. The staff should give better service. If customer asked about your menu then you should be able to explain it well. What if I allergic to cheese and because you don't explain it well I ended up getting it and something worst could happen. read more

This is a chain boba shop located upstairs in Destiny USA mall. It is the best boba tea place in Syracuse. They have some seating inside and do not sell snacks (like popcorn chicken or fish balls) the way other boba shops might. The only snack I saw was Pocki. I downloaded their phone app so I could get my first drink for free (basically). With the app, you get $4 toward your first drink, free drink on your birthday, and a free drink every 12th drink. The app lets you add a credit card so you just have to scan the QR code on the phone when you come next time. I got a small/regular sized oolong milk tea with grass jelly and it cost $4.05 (so I just paid 4 cents). They don't ask you if you want to adjust sweetness/ice so I was worried that my tea would be too sweet. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it was perfectly sweetened (I am the type of person that likes tea either not sweetened at all or only sweetened a tiny bit)! They have a wall with Polaroid pictures as decoration. For those that do not like tea or do not want caffeine, they have juices/smoothies as well and no-tea "milk teas" like taro milk tea. Under seasonal flavors they had a pumpkin drink. I am not sure if this flavor is up all-year because pumpkin doesn't seem like much of a summer thing. I tried the grapefruit yogurt drink, no ice, lightly sweetened and thought it was great. They use Yakult yogurt to make it. I also tried the winter melon green milk tea with light ice and less syrup. It had a nice bittersweet flavor and was very yummy. I like that you can choose no sweetness, 30% or regular. You can also choose the ice level. They call their coconut pineapple jelly nata (or something?). They call their grass jelly "herbal jelly." I like that each drink is shaken in the shaking machine so it leaves a foamy top. Their coffee milk tea tastes great too! It's more tea tasting than coffee tasting. read more

Visiting Syracuse on a hot day and saw this bubble tea spot on Google. I ordered a large special bubble tea, carribean breeze which con sisted of guava, papaya, and pineapple, and requested the tapioca bubbles. Very delicious and well made. Only four stars though because it took a few minutes longer than necessary considering one drink that was ordered was spilled putting into a cup. also the bubbles need a but more draining from the liquid they sit in which is evident on bottom of cup. I would return if I'm back in Syracuse! read more
I'm so happy there's a bubble tea cafe in Syracuse! Actually the best one! There are plenty of varieties to choose from and they all taste great! Try something new and you'll never know when you'll be coming back for more! read more

I ordered one boba tea. There was only one person in line before me, and one person after me. About 4 minutes after I ordered a group of 6 people came, and then a line started. I watched the person before me (#9) get their order, I was number 10. Then #11 got their order. And then #12 (the group of 6) and I watched more people and groups get their orders while I stood and waited. They even told #16 that they were out of what he ordered and asked if he wanted to order something else, so he did, and he and the person he was with both got his order. I asked the woman making the drinks If my order was done (it was just a orange green tea with boba) and she gave me a look and told me I had to wait to be called. So finally after there was a line of 10+ people and they had already called order #20 and I was STILL waiting (over 20 minutes at this point) I told the cashier they didn't need to make my drink. After that she and the people behind the counters acted fake apoplectic saying "We can make it now! Are you sure? " That is what pissed me off the most. I didn't even ask for a refund because my friends were waiting for almost half an hour and we live an hour and a half away and needed to get going. I live in a small city so the closest boba place we have is this one and it's not often we make an hour and a half one way trip to do something. I paid for something I never got, and I left a cash tip. They tried to say they "gave my drink away" but the person before me got a slushy and the guy after me got a taro drink. So I highly doubt it. They just didn't make it/forgot to make it. But at the very least, the woman at the register knew I got one simple drink and watched 10 groups of 15+ people come and go while I was stood there waiting. Honestly it was just pretty shitty. It put me in a bad mood the rest of the day. But everyone else got their orders in a quickly, so that's nice! read more

After returning to upstate NY for a wedding I had to stop at the famous Destiny USA. My girlfriend had never been to this place so I had to show off a local favorite. She was asking nonstop for a milkshake so while we were headed back to Johnny Rockets we spotted this place and glanced over the menu. I am a sucker for matcha as she is taro. Well these had to have been the best frozen matcha and taro beverages we have ever tasted. The crew was very accommodating in taking out and adding ingredients to the beverage. They also had a few unique snacks at checkout which included my beloved green tea KitKat bars however I didn't get to try the rare green tea Pocky. Felt too full and didn't want to bring it on the plane. Excellent place though and very highly recommended. read more
