I ordered winter oolong plain. When the order is ready I saw milky color. I asked the server is there milk in it, he said no. I was pretty certain so I told him I am allergic to dairy , lactose intolerant. He answered yes there is no milk, just milk powder. WTH????? He was pretty young and I can't believe what he just said. And he followed up with are you sure you can do that too? The moral of this story is, it is important to stay in school. The tea was good, not too sweet. The workers are always pleasant. The inside is pleasing to the eye and they offer a variety of games to play. They offer a new sandwich, one pork and one chicken - both are so good. My favorite drink there is the is the Taro milk tea with bubbles. read more

Came here about 15 mins to close on a weekday evening and we ordered the taro milk tea, black milk tea, oolong milk tea, and thai milk tea. You're able to customize the sugar and ice levels which is nice. The tea was fine although the barista candidly told me it was watered down since we came in close to closing time and they did not want to make a fresh pot. I appreciated the honesty but probably would come earlier in the day next time. read more

So my partner and I came to this location today to get some tea, and let me just say that the music was completely inappropriate. The servers were using inappropriate language with each other, and one of the people who work here grabbed a drink off the pick up table and drank it in front of the customers. Bubble taro milk tea is always my favorite but man are them young kids behind the counter dirt slow in serving like I know you guys must not need the job but you got it now work like you need it not everyone has one at this time. I've been going here since they opened in October, and I can say they really have stepped up their game! At first, it did take them a hot minute to get my order ready, but I understand because the baristas were new at what they were doing, and it was ALWAYS crowded in the beginning. I go at least once or twice a week, and the amount of people vary. They're so much faster now when coming to your order, which I love and am so proud of. I went with my son to buy their bubble tea. My son asked for a cocoa cream/original wow with tapioca bubbles. We went back home and while he was sipping his beverage and playing video games he got almost done with his drink and found out a DURACELL BATTERY AAA!!! in the bottom of the cup. He called me to show it and I drove to the store to show them the cup. One front store girl just went away and the other shrugged and continued attending other customers. I was too worried for my son to stay longer at this place and left to drive him to an emergency room. THE BATTERY IS OXIDIZED AND LOOKS OLD!!! Be very aware of this health hazard !!! a battery contains chemicals which are poisonous. I usually don't review but this is outrageous and after my awful day, I have to let people know about this. I emailed a complaint to the Montclair Health department and I was contacted by one officer. Checking retrospectively, that battery was in the tapioca bubbles container and when the front store clerk was preparing the beverage, she just scooped the bubbles with the battery in the cup. I am personally horrified to think all the people that have a bubble beverage made with this contaminated tapioca bubbles. read more

I had never been to a Kung Fu Tea and quite frankly until last night had never established a kinship with any of the ones I've been to, despite being a boba tea lover. So around 9:30pm last night I found myself walking home from a nearby bar also located on Bloomfield Ave. As I walked passed Kung Fu Tea, I first noticed how clean and inviting it looked from the outside and then, what a diverse menu they have on offer. I was lucky enough to be attended to by one of the owners, Cindy, who was lovely and professional. Cindy obviously loves what she's doing and believes in this franchise. It was a pleasure being served by her. It's normally hard for me to find, but here I was able to order a large unsweetened black tea with bubbles and aloe cubes. It was fantastic! You can order any level of sugar you prefer and there's several fresh add-ons to accommodate even the most complex cravings, with textures and flavors to satisfy every thirst. Kung Fu Tea is well worth seeking out when a refreshment is needed. You shall be richly rewarded. read more

Honestly, this location is pretty great. However, they are understaffed most times or just cannot handle the number of orders, since they're covering all the delivery and pickup apps as well. If you actually go into place and order in person, expect to wait 10-20 minutes before it's ready. But the tea is great and the staff are pretty attentive to any alterations, which I always appreciate. read more

Bubble tea itself is fine. Chain stores don't screw up on taste. -1 star due to long wait (20min!) on a Saturday despite 4 people running the counter. My husband and I saw this place as we were walking into lunch at another restaurant and saw the line was crazy. So we ordered as we wrapped up our lunch and was told it would take 20 mins for our order(1 bubble tea). So we finished lunch and paid then walked around and went back about 30 mins later and our order was not ready. So I was told it would take a few mins. I waited another 10 mins and in that time customers who ordered at the register got their order before me. The whole point of ordering online is to skip the line but instead I waited longer! The kids behind the counter were taking their time talking and laughing about having photographic memory while my self and another customer who ordered online stood waiting. So my sister is a bubble tea ADDICT and brought me here numerous times because she needed to satisfy her cravings haha. This place is normally pretty busy so the line may be a little slow but the workers are hard working so just give it a little bit of time (I would say about 15-30minutes). Parking is a little bit of a hassle though as there's only street parking available and so you may have to walk a bit... Anyways, there's games provided here so you can play games while you wait and it's a pretty chill environment so it's not too bad. Flavors here are endless, and i'm still trying to figure out what i like and what i don't like. My top flavors for fruit would be the passion fruit slush while my nonfruit flavor would be the matcha milk tea. I definitely think that you have to come to this place a good amount of times to see what you do and do not like but i do think that you'll find to like at least one flavor here. This KFT franchise lives up to the reputation of the brand. The space is clean and bright. Service was fast and bbt was yummy. Came here with a friend on a week night after dinner across the street. I ordered my favorite, the hot brown sugar ginger. Perfect for the cold weather and for a sore throat. No chunks of ginger (which I hate because then I have to spit the pieces out) but it still had a nice spicy kick to it. Bubbles were perfectly sweet and chewy. Finally a great boba place in Montclair! My first try with this place and i already fell in love with it, there is so many options between milk teas and slush's. One thing that i do truly love is that their boba isn't the mini boba and isn't as stiff (aka it's normally how i expect boba to be). The decor is this cute rustic vibe but the chairs are a bit uncomfortable, i normally just take my drink to go but still a huge fan. My suggestion was the passion slush with boba, if you're a sweeter person i recommend the taro tea with boba. read more
