Kung Fu tea is a classic boba place throughout the world and it's one of 3 locations in MN I believe. The drinks here are consistent and the boba pearls are the perfect texture of soft and chewy. One thing to note though is that the staff will say a drink is dairy free but it's probably not and actually lactose free as they use a lactose-free creamer powder or lactose-free milk. Good to double check and clarify if you have an allergy. My go to order is the strawberry milk tea with matcha cap + boba- so creamy and refreshing. One thing I like about Kung Fu is also collabs they do. Currently during Dec 2025 they are doing a collaboration with Pokemon. Solid boba spot in Maple Grove. We just finished shopping at World Market and Trader Joe's and wanted a warm beverages. They have a variety of different types of drinks on the wall and we loved the colors on the menu as well as the shop itself. We got taro and coconut milk teas, both hot. I initially wanted a hot caramel milk tea but the person who took my order said the lowest sugar level they could do was 70%. While it's common for boba shops to have drinks that can't be customized, yesterday was the first time I was told I can't do a drink that CAN be customized at 50% sweet. Fortunately the taro milk tea was a great alternative as I could definitely taste the taro flavor. The person who brought us our drink came back 2 mins later to let me know he made the drink wrong and needed to fix it. Though I couldn't tell as a first time customer, I appreciated that he corrected his mistake. The shop got busier after we came in and our drinks took a while to make. I don't live in the area so I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but would definitely go back if I happened to be in the area. They also have drinks with a lactaid base if anyone has dairy allergies! The drinks are pretty customizable so have fun with it! They also have coffee drinks available too if you're looking for coffee options, but I always urge folks to try something new! I've come here three times with my daughter she loves it. Moving from LOs Angeles we had tea shops and snack shops everywhere but they are much fewer to be found in the suburbs I love iced green tea with boba and my daughter likes the sweeter drinks like Oreo slush. You can order in a couple of sizes ranging from 4-7$ the the menus are giant screens with a lot of choices but they all center on 2 or three primary tea options. This is my absolute favorite boba spot! Everything they make is so delicious. I really like the drinks with coffee but the fruity ones are fabulous as well. The line is usually long when I go, so be mentally prepared to wait. If you get in and out right away then you'll be pleasantly surprised that way. The shop is kind of small, but it's nice. Nothing super fancy but there are places to sit if you want to. Price is pretty good for boba as well, I've seen more expensive with smaller sizes so for me Kung Fu is great and worth the value. read more

This location in Maple Grove is right along the shopping strip at the far end side where Express is. Their menu is customizable with the ability to choose your pickings, sugar level and ice level!! They have drinks from the classic tea, milk teas, fruit teas, slushies and more. Good variety of toppings to choose from including bubbles, classic boba, milk cap, beans and jellies. Lots to choose from, I suggest looking at their menu online first. I always felt like their menu is so overwhelming with so many variations but on this day I knew exactly what I wanted ha! I got the Matcha Milk Cap with the Crystal boba. I've always love the thick layer of subtly salty milk or also known as "cheese foam" from other places. Asked for less ice because I don't like my boba watered down while I take my time to sip it. Although there was quite a crowd when I got there, drinks came out quick! Really liked the wall designs at this location. There was a good amount of seating along the side. Great for hanging around or catching up with friends. Can be a bit noisy. I have been to kung fu tea in many places all over the USA. This place is the prettiest by far and the cleanest. Relatively easy parking and the seat outside during winter is full of Christmas lights and very happy just being here makes your heart warm up. My wife and I ordered the audio slush because we had it before at the downtown Minneapolis location next to the U of M. We noticed that the Oreo cookie was crushed almost into powder so when i drink it here I don't taste it and I do not break it between my teeth, so he takes all the fun and diminishes the taste of the Oreo. I will definitely come back here but probably before I do I'm gonna go to the downtown location U of M, and have a video made of their how they make it there and come show it to them here and force them to make it like this before I purchase a second time here. And I forgot to mention that it was not extremely sweet I'd like some of the Kitcat chocolates you buy nowadays is so sugary you don't even taste the wafer or the chocolate in it. KFT is by far the bubble tea place in the Twin Cities (not in comparison to west/east coast cities but definitely here in the Twin Cities it is). I was so ecstatic when they announced that one would be opening up in Maple Grove. Back in college I used to go to the one on Washington Ave almost every week, sometimes even multiple times a week. I've tried Tiger Sugar, Chatime, Sencha, MuMu Tea, UniUni, Ding Tea, Tii Cup, and a bunch of smaller places but KFT always remains on top. They have the best tasting pearls that are the perfect balance of soft and chewy but never hard. They're also ALWAYS so consistent! Sometimes when I've visited other bubble tea shops it's a hit or miss with their pearls. The drinks at KFT are also never overly sweet like at Chatime. At KFT I usually get 50-70% sweetness which is perfect but at Chatime I have to get 0% and even that's still too sweet for me. My personal favorite flavors are the rosehip lemonade, milk green tea, mango green tea, white grape green tea, and the green tea wow milk cap. I highly recommend to use their app to order ahead of time. It's super easy to use and I've never had issues with it except the one time I accidentally selected the wrong store but that was on me. You can also accumulate rewards towards free drinks, which if you're a regular is super fast and easy to achieve. They're also usually very quick when fulfilling orders. I always get my drinks within 5-10 minutes. Usually closer to the 5 min mark. One thing I'd also like to note to those who have never been to a bubble tea shop is that you don't have to get pearls or any other toppings if you don't want to. I know some people get scared and just assume you have to order pearls at a bubble tea shop but that's definitely not the case. You can just order any of their drinks without any toppings if you please. read more

A lot of people online say that kung fu tea isn't that good but I strongly disagree, I always love their drinks and have never had a bad experience. They offer great options for non-dairy or lactose intolerant people so you're not limited on choices. The staff is very sweet and I love that they have the post-it note board for guests to leave drawings and notes. Very cute location. read more

This place is legit. I grew up in Queens and went to kung fu way back when. Boba is fresh and the flavors are like other kung fu tea places. If you compare boba in New York or LA, likely it's not #1. But in MN, it's on top along with Cha time. I got coffee, taro slush, Oreo slush. All good. Is the menu big? It's the standard KF tea menu... you have a lot of choices. Huge fan of Kung Fu tea when service is good however, the wait was over 35 mins after ordering in person - the entire place was full of people without drinks in their hands as the staff repeatedly made incorrect drinks and prioritized the pick up drinks over in person patrons. They are clearly short staffed but the wait is ridiculous for walk in patrons. Hope they can fix this blunder of service or they will not stay for long. read more

Whomever was at the register on October 8 at around 5 PM was very rude and had zero experience in customer service. When I had someone to pick up my order, they refuse to give us the receipt for the order and they also messed up on our drinks. I order Thai milk tea and it was not good. The color was more like a plain milk tea and not orange like a Thai milk tea should have been. Also th taste of the Thai tea I got was very watered down and didn't taste like tea. Same with the jasmine milk tea. Not very flavorful, tasted more like jasmine water and not a milk tea. Only because the boba was good, I'm giving 2 stars. Hoping this was just a one time thing, because being from so. Cal where the selection of boba places are way better, i want to go back. I am a little obsessed with Kung Fu Tea. I absolutely love the Wintermelon Tea with Milk Cap. It very refreshing but the slight saltiness from the milk cap gives it the perfect about of savoriness. I also really like the Taro Slush but I get that with 0% sugar because I find it to be personally far too sweet with regular sugar. If you've never had bubble tea before, I would recommend the winter melon milk green tea or kungfu milk tea with bubbles to start with. Or if you want something more refreshing, rosehip lemonade or passionfruit green tea with crystal bubbles is another great option. I have to say that hands down Kung Fu Tea has THE BEST bubbles. They're always so soft and chewy, which cannot be said about many other bubble tea places. If you can't tell, Kung Fu Tea is my absolute favorite bubble shop and if you don't like a drink, I'd definitely recommend giving it another shot. Menu is confusing and over complicated. Price is outrageous for size. I ordered three drinks ($19) and wasn't sure by the end I would get what I was even asking for. I asked for clarification on the red bean if it had a milk strike and was told no so I said I would do the chai then instead. I got plain chai no milk strike and it was around $6.
