I ordered the Thai flavor milk tea . It definitely didn't look like the Thai iced teas you have at the restaurants. It just looked like a milk tea and it didn't have that distinct orange color that I'm used to. It was still pretty OK. My drink was $5.44 for a medium size with tapioca pearl. I was really annoyed that they only take credit cards if your order is $15 minimum. That doesn't make a lot of sense, since a bubble tea is only about six bucks. I ordered from the store front window (there is no seating inside), this is definitely a grab and get out place. I would recommend going to Coco bubble tea down the block. read more

I still think this is a great bubble tea spot. They always get my order right and it's always yummy. But recently, I started using the Kung Fu Tea app to order my drinks ahead of time, so I can get points! Every single time I've ordered on the app, I've had to wait an absurd amount of time for my drink, which is ironic because the whole purpose of that is to ensure I don't have to wait. The app always says the drink will be ready within 5 minutes. I always order it 10 minutes before I arrive, so I can easily grab it and go. I always end up waiting by the store for 30 extra minutes because they never have my drink ready. There's usually one or two workers inside so I understand it takes some time. But, they will take other customers orders and make their orders before mine, when I ordered mine over 30 min ago! They prioritize customers who order in person opposed to the ones who order on the app. The first few time I thought I was just unlucky, but there is no excuse for it to happen more than 4-5 times, especially when I'm only ordering 1 drink. I'd recommend for the staff to notice the online orders more, and make the drinks on a first come first serve basis. Customers who came way after me, should not be getting their drinks ahead of me while I'm waiting for half an hour. read more

For all of the Latin businesses that crowd this section of Jackson Heights, it seems totally random to have a Kung Fu Tea located on the corner of the 82nd St location. And by totally random, I really mean incredibly brilliant. There are no seats, barely a counter, and maybe two employees max doing their powder shaking thing. No complaints on the drink front, my go-to taro milk green tea with herbal jelly is as good here as it would be at any other location. Is the boba pricey? Comparad to Flushing, yes. Compared to the rest fo the KF chain, it's definitely average at best. I might be wrong, but I always feel like their menu is somewhat condensed compared to the bustling sister locations that have more people and generally more flavors to offer. I wish they were open later at night. This would be a perfect spot for a late night taco crawl or arepa craving session. If I don't fee like hitting up the nearby Chinatowns for a KFT fix, this Roosevelt spot serves me quite nicely. read more

This is probably my favorite KFT spot. Right by the subway so it's convenient. My fave drink from KFT is their milk tea which has a fragrant taste and very addicting. It is on the sweet side. Often it's just a tad undercooked, other times, it's a bit mushy. I usually just get green tea, half sweet, with boba. I do like Kung Fu Tea's green tea. It's a very fragrant tea and has no bitterness to it. Sometimes I'll get an Oreo milk tea, but it's been a while. This time, I tried their Yakult drink for the first time. I went with the Yakult green tea, half sweet, with boba. For a large, they used three little things of Yakult. Very meh but what did I expect, it's Kung Fu Tea. I got a large Kung Fu milk tea with bubbles, no sugar no ice, and it had powdered milk and very meh tea. Tapioca balls were sticky and mushy on the outside but chewy inside, not sure what happened there but they definitely shouldn't be that way. I used to work within 2 minutes walking distance from this KFT and it was my saving grace!!! Whenever the afternoon hit, my after lunch coma would approach and this tea would revive me. In a area dominated by latin cuisine and cafe shops, KFT sticks out like a sore thumb! My favorite being the passion fruit Lychee tea and on occasion I had a black milk tea with bobos. This Kung Fu Tea place is okay. They have solid, trustworthy milk tea, which I appreciate, and it's also very conveniently located right by the 82nd Street Jackson Heights station (of the 7 train). I've been to this location twice, and the milk tea is never out-of-this-world, but it's good and solid. Meaning, it's definitely a place that you can go and they have consistently decent milk tea. The place is ridiculously small, however. There's barely any room for more than 5 people to stand, so this isn't a place that you should go to catch up with a friend. It's a grab-and-go kind of place. I would have given this location four stars; however, the last time that I visited, I (and another family) noticed a giant cockroach running around on the ceiling...gross. After I got my drink, I noticed that the cockroach was gone, but LUCKILY, it wasn't in my drink! (Oof, that would have been truly horrible.) TL;DR: Solid milk tea--you know that what you're getting will be pretty much what you expect, but not too sure how I feel about that cockroach. I asked for Almond Milk Tea thinking it was almond milk, not milk tea with almond syrup(what even?). I'm very, very lactose intolerant. A drink like that could ruin my week. When I asked for clarification, they told me I had to pay for another. I hadn't drank it. I didn't even put the straw in. I tried to be polite, but I can't drink milk. They also forgot the bubbles in both our drinks when we paid for them. So.. really upsetting visit. I could've put money in the trash and gotten just as much. Any establishment should be more accommodating to allergies. It costs you what to make a drink? Pennies? I mean, it's not like I just didn't like it. First time trying bubble tea in this neighborhood and l loved it. I bought the Ponche de Lychee with Tapioca for around $4. The service was good and thought the place is VERY VERY small, they were busy. The drink itself was rich with flavor, and perfect on a summer day. The heat and the lychee clashed so nicely. Enough tapioca! Also, it was very heavy in haste, so l couldn't gulp it down. l literally had to take sips and finish it like that which is good because it lasted MUCH longer and stayed cold. Negative: The place is really small and was crowded, and the tapioca was a little too soft (or maybe thats just me), but eventually by the 3rd sip l was used to it. Great buy! Nice service, GOOD TEA! You can taste the nice smooth brew of the tea. They use milk powder for tea, but have taro syrup! This was a plus! Often times, milk teas just use powders for flavor and barely any tea. Not at this place! The lychee jelly had a crisp texture to it. This means that it was fresh. The black tea was smooth, then they added the taro syrup which really set them apart from most cheaper bubble tea places. I will be back! Nope, don't be fooled by the deceptively large corner display from the outside, Kung Fu barely has a lobby area. Also, don't expect seats or a restroom.
