Caught a BOGO deal during Kung Fu Tea's Grand Opening! The deal was for February 24- 26th, which I ended up coming on the last day, Sunday, and it being the dustiest day! First impression was "how cool that it's next to an all-you-can-eat Sushi place!" They'll definitely get lots of traffic, so perfect location. Inside was very clean and sofisticated with their signature logo and colors. There was plenty of seating, so it was very inviting. The menu is easy to read and off to the side, so you don't have to be in front of the cashier as you're trying to decide. Bc KF is a chain, their menu is consistent throughout. I'm familiar with their menu coming all the way from Tampa, FL. So I do have a level of expectations. It's a NY/Taiwanese based bubble tea chain, so they have many popular items you wouldn't get from other boba shops like Winter Melon and WOW milk, and Milk Cap. The BOGO deal was limited to just the Featured Favorites. I ordered the Kung Fu Milk Tea and Passion Fruit Green Tea both with bubbles (pearls). I have to say their customer service was pleasant. I really appreciated the cashier's patience when trying to decide and the drinks made in a timely manner. TIP: In order to take advantage of their app rewards, you do have to add your card, similar to Starbucks, but you can only scan and pay through the app. Finally, I tried their signature KF Milk Tea and was hit with the pearls extra sweetness! Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the texture that I usually love. Normally, bubble pearls have a pleasant chew and softness. But what I had felt and tasted like it was not cooked long enough. (I actually went home to boil the pearls in green tea for 20 min to get it to where I liked it.) Surprisingly, they do give a generous amount of pearls in your cup. The drink honestly felt like 120-150% sweetness instead of 100% sweetness. I wanted to experience what their version of 100% sweetness was, and I suggest dialing it down a bit. Their drinks are definitely much sweeter than the average, but also to other KT Tea shops. But now I know going forward I will adjust it to 50% sweetness. Bc of how sweet my drinks were, I also went home to dilute my Passion Fruit GT with more GT to add a little more bitterness and ice. (Sorry, I'm extra). Although I wished the pearls had quality control, I still appreciate that there's a closer location for the Eastside. I definitely will be returning bc I personally like their Matcha Red Bean Slush with bubbles. Can't wait to visit again!

I absolutely LOVE Little Bear. I've been going here for years, the coffee is great, and the…read morebaristas are fantastic. It's my local coffee shop where they know my name and my order as soon as I walk in. I also love the atmosphere here even though it is often crowded. It's a great place to get some work done, or to meet a friend to chat. Literally the only issue I have with them is their new ordering/card reader system. It's often down, which results in long lines, long waits, and stressed out baristas. Also, their it's tied to their loyalty program, so when I go there and their system is down, I don't get points. Would love it if they went back to the old system! Other than that, Little Bear Uptown is my favorite place to get coffee in Albuquerque.

I was greeted at the door by a customer's very friendly golden lab, best greeting of the day btw. The coffee was as requested without issue. There is only one size (12oz) so I grabbed two since I'm a traveling man today. I like my coffee so needed that spare. Cinnamon rolls can be found but overall this is a coffee shop. Not like grandma's hash slinging eggs over easy, coffee, reading, chatting, and just enjoying the day in general. If I had more time, I would have written some on my dissertation this morning. Cheers to Little Bear for a great vibe!

He's a Yorkie and yes he provides tasks for me related to several medical issues. In fact he is very sensitive to my needs. The owner was confrontational and told me to sit outside, service animal or not. Then she started asking me what she has a right to, but at this point seemed unnecessary. I was on a first date, so I hesitated to say it loud given my first date. Then she snarled at me saying "I'm allowed to ask those questions." If it didn't matter to her if he was a service animal or not, then why the questions? I went back in to get the drinks they forgot to give us, and I showed her his documentation, though not required. She then told me "he's not a service dog!" This may get criticism or kudos, but I fail to see why the owner needed to be so rude and confrontational, especially when I was compliant with her wishes and compliant with the ADA laws. I have been asked the question, "what service does he perform?" at other restaurants, and businesses in Albuquerque without confrontation. They have acted with kindness and professionalism, directed me where to sit, asked for him to sit on the floor, etc. This woman did not and I felt she was purposely confrontational.
