    Chicken Curry

Five stars for the chicken curry. Dropped by for take away and we got this with their rice. Medium spicy. Good portion for two. The masala was very flavorful and about as authentic as it gets. I particularly liked that they didn't dilute down the flavor with cream/dairy which a lot of places do. This was closer to a South Indian chicken curry than I've had at most places!

I love coming here for Indian food. Nestled in south side marketplace but still low key. The food is bussing lol Decided to try something new today and get Lamb Pasanda, and it did not disappoint. It was fantastic! The Keema Naan is not my favorite but it's not too bad. I'm just used to only getting garlic Naan. It gets busy during lunch buffet so come check them out during dinner

Visited Kumari on a Friday night for dinner with my mom. It was quiet and peaceful inside. The seating area isn't large inside but comfortable as we were the only table for a bit. Our server/host was very friendly and took care of us. As far as the food, I truly expected more especially based on previous reviews of the restaurant. We started off with the veggie pakoras which were good. For the mains, I order the chicken curry which did not taste like any curry dishes I've had before. It seemed to lack spice which was very surprising for me. My mom ordered the chicken kahari and she was not a fan either. Maybe it was an off night but we will probably stick to our fave Indian food spot out in Glen Burnie.

The food is always good and some days they have spicy shrimp. It's super spicy so proceed with caution. The fried fish is amazing and the chicken Marsala is good also. Before Covid the buffet use to be 10.60 now it about 17.00 but it's definitely still worth going. They also use to let you take extra and tea but not it's for sit ins. They keep the hot nan coming. The servers are nice and patient. The place is quiet but can get busy around lunch. In the cut and you can park in the front no need to walk far.

    Chicken Tikka Masala

This food was terrible - we ordered from Door Dash and it was honestly so bad we couldn't eat it. The chicken tikka masala was so sweet it was inedible. It was also dyed red and looked gross. The cream sauce was extremely thin. Chicken portion was also very small compared with other restaurants. The lamb vindaloo had lots of stems and seeds in it that should've been strained out. Lamb was very tough. Finally, the garlic naan was stale and flavorless. We threw it all out. I used to eat here often when I worked in the neighborhood. Maybe ownership changed but this is truly disgusting.

Amazing food ! Totally loved it plus it was quick and super fresh. The Keema samosas were especially good, the pastry part was perfectly fried.

So today I had Indian food for the first time this year! I found a spot in my new neighborhood and decided to give it a try. I'm having their lunch special which is Chicken Tikki Marsala /w Rice and fresh Naan, two orders of Vegetable Samosas for later, and I must say this is so very good. I think have found my spot for Local Indian Cuisine! -- eating lunch at Kumari.

Wow I stopped in, ordered Chicken Masala, and Bread. I ordered the medium spice. The meal was great. Generous serving of chicken and rice. Not too hot. Perfect. Will go again. 8-20-19 stopped by having Veggie Pakora. Hmmm good, and chicken Tiki Masala

Chicken Tikka Masala and Plain Naan

This is a hidden gem in the area! We came in on a Monday evening and it was very quiet with a nice atmosphere. The service was fast and the food was delicious. Every person at the table loved what they got, and there were options to make dishes more or less spicy depending on preference. Highly recommend!

We got the Kale Chaat, amazing, still talking about it. Crispy kale, yogurt w/ mint, sweet and savory and crispy. Omg, you gotta get it, I want it again already! For dinner I got the chicken dumplings (momo) and my husband got the tandoori chicken. It was actually too much food! The momo was delish but the tandoori chicken was the star entree for sure. It came with a side of masala sauce which was so tasty to dip in. Everything was actually pretty reasonably priced as well. My only complaint is that it was freezing inside - lots of guests wore their coats! They had a ton of to go orders ready - I'd definitely do that in the future, but it is nice inside! One of my new favorite spots for sure, I'll be back.

It had vodka, Prosecco, mango, and passionfruit puree. It had a nice balance of sweetness and tartness, though it was not particularly sparkling from the Prosecco. The paneer chili ($9) was decent but not quite what I expected. The paneer was tossed with garlic, tomato based sauce, peppers, and onions, but it was softer and less crispy than I was hoping for. The veg jhol momo ($18) was interesting.... The menu mentions a Szechuan pepper based soup, but I did not get any Szechuan pepper flavor at all. Instead, the broth had a creamy, almost tahini-like taste. The momos themselves were fine, but the broth was not what I was expecting. The mixed veg jalfrezi ($16) was okay. It had a good amount of mixed vegetables in a tomato based sauce with green chilies, ginger, and onions. We ordered it very spicy but it came out sweeter than I preferred. The Goan fish curry ($19) was excellent. The tilapia was tender and the tomato coconut curry was flavorful, rich, and comforting. It had a nice balance of spice and creaminess. The garlic naan ($4) was soft, fluffy, and had a good amount of garlic and herbs. The beers were good too. The Taj Mahal lager was light and easy to drink, while the Haywards 5000 had a stronger, maltier flavor. Overall, service was good. Our server, Aro, was attentive. They have an outdoor seating area. Ambiance was upscale without the prices. They are located by a parking garage but there is also street parking available as well.

A friend and I were seated quickly, and provided menus. I knew I wanted mango lassi and ordered that. We decided to split beef samosas and garlic naan. I went with a veggie saag dish but asked for it extra spicy. The mango lassi was amazing, it was hard to stop myself from chugging it. The beef samosas were well made, perfectly flaky, however, I realized in that moment I prefer veggie samosas. The entrees arrived and my dish smelled amazing. I tried my best to spoon rice onto my plate, but the rice was oddly stacked high on a plate and would just tumble down like an avalanche. I prefer my rice in a bowl. So, my saag dish, while well prepared and was hot, was lacking flavor to me due to the spice used to provide the heat I wanted. And that's on me. I realized this meal that I should get maybe medium spice at most, then ask for whatever their version of "hots" is on the side. Overall, it was a very pleasant visit. Service was amazing. I just made bad choices, which is not Little India's fault.

Couple of us had mango lassi sparkler - we enjoyed it and one ordered a non-alcoholic mango lassi and ended up not enjoying it - too yogurty for her. For the appetizer: chicken momo (dumpling) and samosa. Not bad! Main meal, I had the mixed platter which was very plentiful and flavorful, butter chicken mild and medium spice for two of the gals, and finally shrimp curry medium for the 4th gal. We highly recommended the very garlicky naan . The only negative I would say is that they were going to charge for extra sauce for my mixed platter. Ambiance was ok but a tad dark.

The owner's collection is really impressive and I'm already planning a trip back with my partner to explore more of the spirits. My friend and I ordered the half serving of fish curry, half serving of butter chicken, and veggie pakoras. Everything was delicious and came out quickly. The butter chicken wasn't like any other butter chicken I've had -- it was more rich in flavor and leaned more towards a tikka masala in my opinion but it was still good. It came with only one serving of rice for both orders so if you prefer more rice, order extra. It wasn't my favorite basmati rice I've had though. The service was extremely attentive and at times a bit suffocating. Once our food came out, we were checked on 5-6 times in a matter of 10 minutes all by different servers. After a certain point, we both got annoyed because we just wanted to have a conversation without being interrupted every 2 minutes. Waters were refilled any time even a small sip was taken. It seemed like the servers were bored and just trying to find something to do. But I would've much preferred our own server just stopping by once, so my friend and I could've enjoyed our time to catch up. Beyond that, the space is gorgeous with lots of fancy decor. We felt a bit underdressed actually. My friend and I both said how we'd love to come back for a nicer dinner and eat at the bar so service is more relaxed next time.

I searched for the closets restaurant that was also opened on Yelp because that's a great feature, and found Nepal House. They have a banner on their site advertising their new extended hours of 11am til 1am. I was a little skeptical but figured it's hard to get Indian food wrong . . . They had a combo which came with your choice of specialty chicken, veggie samosa and naan. I opted for the butter chicken spicy level and garlic naan for an indulgent late-night meal before going home. That's the kind of comfort I didn't know I actually needed all week. I tried to order online but was having some trouble so called in for pickup. To their surprise, I was already outside, so when I was informed to arrive soon, I replied I was already outside. I went in after the 15 minutes my food was promised in and had to wait for a bit. I tried to make small talk with the young lady at the register but she seemed a little flustered for some reason. There was a couple seated in the main dining area but the bar was closed off. Ideally, I'd sit at the bar when I'm dining alone so I asked how busy the bar usually is and was informed it is usually packed. I didn't believe that at all because there were no signs of being used anytime in the near past at all. But ok. I continued to look around and noted the dated decor that was still rich in culture. My food was done and I paid. I've notice for some reason restaurants just hand you an amount on a machine and ask for you to pay. I asked for my receipt to ensure I wasn't being overcharged for anything and again she seemed flustered. She gave me the POS and said something, so I asked again but this time I asked to see what I was charged for. She then printed me a receipt and I waited to pay. Don't know what that was about but ok. Grabbed my food and walked fast to my car. I noticed a lot of people on that street either standing around or going in and out of businesses. I locked my door and proceeded to open my brown paper bagged late night dinner. First, I tried the veggie samosa which was steaming hot with very subtle flavors. I remembered asking if it came with sauce and was informed it did, so grabbed it out of the bag and dipped. It gave the samosa some more flavor but after seeing the dull green pea, I put it down and grabbed a piece of naan. It also lacked in flavor, and I couldn't taste any garlic. I opened my container with butter chicken and immediately dipped the naan in, like any good person would do. So hot, flavorful, creamy, seasoned, everything I needed at that moment. I would have jumped for joy but just grabbed the fork and went for a piece of chicken which was tender and I couldn't tell if it was a breast or thigh. So that meant if it was a breast, it wasn't dry but if it was a thigh, it wasn't juicy either. I was ok with the in between for the night. I didn't want to eat the rice but decided to indulge and scooped some onto my fork and then grabbed a piece of sauced chicken and quickly scarfed it down. I drove home and passed out in my parking space . . . . don't judge, mind your business. If you haven't passed out in your car after a good meal then are you really living? No, you're not. I'd go back for a late night meal if I'm in the area or if they are on my way back home again.
