The tables are just a bit too close to each other so it got a little tight. I tried the 1lb laulau which was tasty. The pork was well cooked but the chunk was so big that I didn't feel that the flavor was even throughout the whole thing. I also prefer if the meat was a bit more soft. Mahalo to the staff at Kūhiō Grille for being awesome. From the time our party of 8 sat to the time we left the restaurant, they were so kind and attentive. I had the laulau plate with 2 scoops of rice and mac salad. The laulau was seasoned perfectly with lots of luau leaf. I tried the fried chicken skins also and that was crunchy and delicious. Hahaha. T'was good and laulau is perfectly cook BUT not seasoned right. It's way too salty for me (laulau). I'm a bit disappointed but again, since I'm so hungry I ate them all. The fried rice is a bit salty as well but I can manage. Plate laulau (pork & chicken combo laulau, tossed salad & mac salad), laulau is the same as mine, too salty. Tossed salad is good though and love the dressing. Mac salad is okay but bandit likes it. He thought it's a decent meal at that time. My sister had the Taro Corned Beef Hash and I had my favorite, Lau Lau. My sisters CBH had an interesting taro taste and I think I'll try this in the future, must be healthier than potatoes. My Lau Lau had pork that was VERY lean, I don't remember it being like this before, I prefer mine with chunks of juicy fat. Local style food? Especially on a Sunday? Yes, please! It used to be located on the mall side where Jamba Juice and Starbucks are. Now they have moved and taken over the old Liko Lehua location. The restaurant itself is now roomier compared to the old location! Parking also isn't too bad. I've tried a few things back at their old location like their breakfast portions. But at this location, I ordered their kalua pork with their special fried rice (not realizing that it contained spam (not a fan of it)) and traded my dinner with my friend who ordered the same thing but with regular rice. The dish came out and it was basically a meat and rice dish with a side of either mac salad or regular salad. The portion of the main dish was kind of small for the priced paid but the kalua pork was flavorful! A taaaad too salty though. So the white rice definitely helped. I tried a bit of the fried rice (picked out the spam), and it wasn't anything spectacular to the price addition. This is a relatively okay place to go to when you want local styled food. Some of their dishes are a tad too salty, but the flavor is definitely there. They're also one of the few places that are opened on a Sunday to eat with family and friends (or coworkers). read more
