I think they should cut down on oil because the fried rice and lo mein were very oily and greasy There's no reason if you know, you may run out of dumplings on a Friday or Saturday night that you don't make enough. The food is very good. It comes out hot and fresh, flavorful, and good dinner portions (we haven't tried the lunch size portions, but nice that either size can be ordered). The crispy noodles served with the soup are perfect. The red curry dishes, including the wide noodle dish with pork, are excellent. We had the fried tofu twice, once in green curry and once in peanut curry. Both were very good, and the spice levels were as ordered each time: hot for me, mild and medium for my wife. And the fried tofu is cooked beautifully. Pork is thinly sliced, very tender, but a little skimpy. Spring and egg rolls are superb, clearly they are freshly fried and not just sitting in a warmer. The tom ka soup is tasty though a little thin, but still very enjoyable. The egg drop soup is homey and enjoyable. Pricing is reasonable and based on food quality, a good value. As for service, I have mixed feelings. It's not bad, but also not much more than adequate. The hostess/server is efficient with ordering and bringing out the food, but she is not particularly engaging, and in terms of answering questions about the menu, she is not at all helpful in saying anything beyond the basic menu description or in giving any helpful suggestions. We have been served by her on more than one occasion, so I can't blame it on it being an unusual experience. A big criticism is that plates are not cleared before the next course is brought out or even after the next course is served. Soup bowls and appetizer plates simply pile up. This has happened each time we have eaten here. And we noticed this at other tables as well. Our server comes by to check on us but ignores the used plates. Another server walked by our table several times as he served another table, looked at the used plates and simply walked past. And when the diners at other tables leave, the tables are not cleared for way too long - at least 10 to 15 minutes. At both of our recent visits, the restaurant was moderately busy but not full or with people waiting. So it can't be explained by overworked staff. Unfortunately, it seems more like they didn't really care, couldn't be bothered to clear away used dishes, or lack training. I hope the owner and staff read this and work to improve this issue as it simply brings down the enjoyment of the meal. The restaurant itself is clean, apart from used dishes not being cleared away. It has good parking and seems to have a good client base. The food is a solid 4 so that's the rating I gave it. Service is a 3, which is on the generous side, but I didn't want to reduce my overall rating because the quality of the food is very good. I'm on the fence about future visits, mainly because of the service issue. I'll probably try it at least once more because the food is good and with the hope that they can improve on service. read more

I've been looking forward to checking the spot out especially after reading all the positive reviews. I called in my order. The server on the other end was so kind and polite. I was told my order would be ready within 20 minutes but I was right down the road and showed up within 10. They brought it out, piping hot and packaged nicely. One thing I will mention is I did not receive any sauces to include soy or chopsticks which was disappointing. Everyone that I encountered was very pleasant. Starting with the egg drop soup. While it was fresh there was a sweetness to it that I didn't love. After jazzing it up a bit with sauces from my house. I really enjoyed it. Next the hot and sour. This is a different rendition than I've ever seen. Super thick and almost had a barbecue like flavor/ tang to it. All in all I enjoyed it, just different. The garlic fried rice with chicken this time. Loved the addition of the garlic atop. Nicely done. The crab rangoons, I would absolutely order again. It's an old Pizza Hut that's been converted to an Asian restaurant! When I walked in (though kind of dark) every table in the house was full. Well, this looked promising. Staff was friendly and patiently answered my questions from the menu as this was my first time here. I ordered spring rolls, garlic chicken, pad prik, and Thai fried rice. Medium spice is pretty hot. I was surprised as I was toying with ordering hot. I'm glad I didn't. I'd recommend starting medium spice first. Each entree came with complimentary egg drop soup that could not be substituted. It was good but a bit salty. Complimentary fried wonton strips were also brought to the table. These were super fresh and light. I could have eaten 3 bowls of this stuff! As for the entrees, the fried rice was a bit sweet, the garlic chicken was a bit salty, but the pad prik was just right! Portions are made for one, so it's best to not share if you're hungry. Dinner for 3 ran me about $60. read more

Was so pleasantly surprised at the quality here! Service was super friendly, food came out lightning fast and piping hot. I really loved that they allowed us to order lunch-sized portions for dinner. We ordered the chicken lo mein, general tso chicken and Szechuan beef. Also, was surprised at how flavorful the complimentary egg drop soup was!!Normally it comes out a disgusting fake yellow color and looks slimy and unappetizing, like it was made from a packet... so I usually skip the egg drop soup. But this one was clearly homemade and had a really nice light broth to it. I ate the whole thing. Overall, really happy to have this little gem in Dunedin. I was in and out for dinner within 30 minutes and paid a really fair price for the meal. Will absolutely return! read more

1st time to dine in at Kue's Cafe last evening and we were both disappointed not only for the value but just so so food as well. For the price it was China King take out quality. The food presentation was non existent, Taste was just average. We ordered a glass of wine and they did not have what we requested, a simple house chardonnay and took the substitute and at $8.50 per small glass was we felt very overpriced. The ambiance was cold and no character. Too many bright ceiling light. If you want good food with this kind of quality I would suggest you go to take out. Sorry for this unflattering review. read more
