I haven't been by for quite a while. I ordered a couple of lunch specials: the kung pow shrimp and the pork egg foo young. Both came with fried rice and a crab rangoon. Sometimes good.. food usually good but I have had messed up orders. Staff sometimes does not seem to understand your complaint.

Food has no flavor at all. Not a REAL Chinese food since lacking the traditional flavor.

I gave one star for the friendly service and the other star because it was ready when I arrived. I haven't been here in over 4 years, back then it was very very good for a take out. So I remembered that, today the rice was mediocre at best the sweet and sour sauce was good. The breaded chicken for the sweet and sour sauce was beyond terrible. In all of those chicken nuggets was maybe 2 tablespoons of chicken , it was all very thick breading that made it look much more like large bites of chicken. SHAME on you!!! The egg rolls were mostly empty with a small amount of very soft cabbage filling. Very strong tasting. The beef in the other dish was rubber cheery beef with over cooked or half rotten broccoli. So gross! Never again. 80-90 percent of it went out in the garbage. $40 gone, I'd pay $50 if it was good. Raise your price and make good food!!!!! read more

Recommended by someone at the gym down the road, so I decided to give them a try. Limited lunch menu ( compared to LA; sorry, hard not to compare to last 26 years) but low prices. Take out only. I ordered the vegetables ( broccoli, bamboo, snow peas, baby corn, cabbage) and served with brown rice. Never had brown rice from a Chinese restaurant, but flavor and texture was the same as white). Had chicken and broccoli ( my father's favorite), also with rice. Lastly, Szechuan beef which included mixed vegetables, rice and a spicy ( not too spicy) sauce that actually smelled like a sweet and sour sauce but was not. Everything was very tasty and reminiscent of my New York childhood. Each order could have an egg roll, soup or soda, so I ordered two soups and and an egg roll. Egg roll was good, although I usually do not eat them. Soups deferred to later as the portions were reasonably sized and I was full. The dinner menu is more extensive , so I will need to return at a later date. Addendum: The Beef and chicken dish is both contained small pieces of pork mixed in. I do not like pork. I have had to pick the pieces out of my food which is inconvenient. I love this place. I've been eating here for about three years now, since I moved to Florida. The food is always fresh and hot and tastes better than the other Chinese delivery services around. The lady that runs the place talks fast but is very kind. She always asks how my kids are doing and has my order and address memorized. The food is greasy and the place definitely looks like it may be closed by the health department at any time. Maybe it's because I'm from the East Coast, but to me that is how a Chinese restaurant should be. I enjoyed it just fine and no food poisoning and great portions. This place is great for fast Chinese food. One trick that they welcome is calling in your order. Most orders take about 10 minutes or less and you can use your cell phone if you are out and about. There is not much in environment or atmosphere at this location. It is basically a small restaurant with about 3 tables. Functionally it is designed for "to go" orders; although, you can use the small tables. The place appears to operate on a low budget as they utilize open doors to circulate the air and never seem to have any air conditioning. Although that really does not matter if you are getting a "to go" order. The staff is always friendly. Today, I was told that my order would be ready in about 10 minutes, so I sat at one of the tables and played a game on my phone when not less than 5 minutes (if that much) the lady was smiling telling my order was ready. She accommodated me, with a smile, when I told her I was on the scooter and needed a bag with a handle to strap it down. My order was very good. I ordered the house special fried rice which includes chicken, pork, and shrimp with accessory vegetables (peas and carrots) flavored with onion. I also had an egg drop soup with the crunchy noodles. Of course fortune cookie! Both were small orders and I believe two people could share them. The chicken, pork, and shrimp were fresh and tender prepared when ordered giving a satisfying hardy combination that satisfies. Pretty Brutal. Honestly, one star is a reach. I picked this place based on Yelp and this is the first time I have been burned by a good Yelp rating. Had GeneralTso's chicken, sweet and sour chicken, boneless spare ribs and sweet and sour soup. Pretty much all a salty and/or sweet mess. General Tso's chicken just a coagulation of gloppy overly sweet mess!! There was no heat and there were no peppers in it. The boneless spareribs did not really have much flavor beyond salt and sweet. The other stuff not really worth commenting on. This place is not good and I feel I wasted $29 dollars. There must be other carry out Chinese places that are close by and serve good food. Wish I would have tried one of them. If you eat here I bet you will too! read more

Been looking for a good Chinese restaurant since Ivory Bistro announced new ownership (boo, not nearly what is once was!). It certainly seems as if every Chinese take-out on Yelp has reviews ranging from excellent to 'never again'. Tried this place tonight, ordered the hot and sour soup and shrimp lo mein. The soup was excellent, honestly the best I've had in a very long time. The Lo Mein was good, but it is the soup that will make me return to Amy's and try other dishes. So far, would recommend. This place is always great! We are vegetarians and it is often hard to find a place that does a veggie egg roll, and I'm not talking spring rolls! General Tso's Tofu and the garlic veggies are awesome (I prefer the broccoli with garlic sauce.). Also, the "Krab" Rangoon is actually made with carrots, not fish faked imitation crab. Amy's is the best Chinese food in the area for sure. We're from jersey so we are always looking for Chinese food like we'd get at home. We regularly order Chicken and broccoli, friend rice, shrimp and mixed vegetables, chicken sticks, egg rolls, Chinese doughnuts. All are really good. I finally found good Chinese in my work neighborhood! My crew does not eat Chinese at home, so this is always a work day lunch treat for me. I tried just an egg roll first and it was good, so next I tried some fried rice. It was the real deal fried rice, not that yellow shit that comes out of a bag that so many of these joints insist on using around here. Authentic fried rice does not start with Vigo. I'm feeling encouraged to try a lunch special at this point, so I order my standard Bourbon Chicken. She asked me if I wanted the onion, carrot and green pepper? Bourbon Chicken usually doesn't have vegetables in it so I begin to think this is not going to turn out well. I went with it anyway and said no green pepper as I like onion and carrot. I got back to work and opened it up and was taken back for a second. It just didn't look like your standard BC. I mixed some chicken up with that dank ass rice and oh lawd, it was dynamite! The crunch of the veggies just brought that certain something to the party and I was very pleased. Local Chinese place. Clean and always friendly. They always give you a longer wait time for the food to be ready for pickup or delivery, but I've never had to wait that long. The food is good, but nothing to write home about. Generally just the usual Chinese takeout place, but with fast, clean, friendly service. In my opinion close enough to New York Chinese for me. Service is always fast and friendly. I never gotten sick from eating here. I would prefer the whole chicken wing instead of the cut down versions. That was a turnoff for me. Besides that they have came through when there's a crew at the house and we're looking for something quick to eat. Many options to choose from and they don't charge you crazy when you want to edit your order from the menu. Most the time they don't charge me extra at all! Yum. Amy's egg foo yung best I've had. No grease, sauce light and flavorful, not heavy at all. Got the combo and both egg roll and fried rice were fresh and tasty too. Ordered spicy Singapore chow mei fun (skinny rice noodles) because it sounded good, and it was delicious. Don't bother going here, I ordered wonton soup that didn't have any taste, the roast pork lo mein had no pork, the pork fried rice had 3 pieces of carrots and 2 peas no pork as well, and I ordered honey chicken that was so soggy. Very good pork egg roll- crunchy but not greasy. Hot and sour soup is missing something - too light colored. It tasted more like a peppery hot chicken soup with egg. IMO needs toasted sesame oil and vinegar and corn starch to thicken it. The lady who took my order and who was at the counter was pleasant. After reading some of the reviews I was bracing myself for a 'Soup Nazi' experience, but it was just a normal take-out experience. read more

Has been my go to for years. The time before my last visit they forgot my egg rolls for my platters and called me to inform me they would leave a note for me to recieve them at no charge with my next delivery. They charged me with my last visit for the forgotten egg rolls!! On top of it ignored a food allergy! My bill was $6 more than it should have been and they did nothing to try to reconcile it. read more
