I found this Krystal by making a wrong exit off 95. I was impressed with the decor and cleanliness of this Krystal. It took longer than usual for someone to come take my order and even longer to get my food. I think the person in front of me ordered a lot, but not sure. He was chatting with the employees a lot ....one reason it took so long for them to take my order. I did notice that the person who came in after me has the same problem. After waiting so long I decided not to eat in but to put some ketchup on there and hit the road again. The burgers tasted ok...just not like I remembered. Showed up at 9:15 while on the road back home to Florida . Had a Krystal craving. Not a car in the parking lot. What the heck. Let's live on the edge a bit. Started off poorly with no coffee, orange juice or ice in the front cooler. But the fries, Krystal's with cheese, chili pups and chix (reg and spicy) were made to order right in front of us. I have eaten a lot of late night food at the Krystal in Savannah and this food was incredible. Could it have been because we were the only people there? In all likelihood yes. Let's just say that the cook and server were not in any hurry to get that food out quickly. But I didn't mind waiting because it was outstanding. They have boxes sitting on the tables you're supposed to eat at when you walk in you don't get greeted there was nobody at the front table. The men's room and the women's room was disgusting. While in town for a New Years Eve party, after leaving the party, I recalled when I was in my twenties, and after a night of partying and drinking, a few Krystals would help you avoid being bent over the toilet and pleading with the God you serve, to just let you see daybreak and you'd never drink again. Although, why the following weekend, you'd probably be back to drinking and partying. This Krystal did nothing to help enhance those memories. I should have known it wasn't going to be a good experience when at approx 2:22 am, there was only one other car in the drive thru Of course the drive through service was quick, there was no one else to serve before me. Sadly, not only were the burgers cold, the cheese was also, as if there was no attempt to even melt it on the burger. I took one bite and almost gagged. I reached back into my Krystals bag and snags a couple of fries, which I can only describe as slightly warmer than the burger, but still pretty cold for some "fresh fries" 2 Krystals w/cheese and an order of fries was less than $4 so it still one of the cheapest meals avail at 2 in the morning. Totally killed a great buzz, but at least I didn't have to plead with God to help me pass a night of paying homage to the toilet gawds. Must be more experienced at holding my liquor read more

I may live 200 miles away but my secondary Thanksgiving tradition has been to stop in while I'm driving to visit my family in Florida... If I could give a one star I would. People are eating inside, at 2pm on a Saturday, yet they are closed. Workers are inside but refuse to work. I've watched how multiple cars before and after us have said "hello" to the order box repeatedly, to then live up to the window, do it again, wait for a worker to come and say "lobby is closed". Okay... it's morning and I use their drive Thur to ordered a low carb scrambler bowl which is perfect for me... eggs and sausages can't go wrong. I make it a combo which means a OJ and a hash brown. Get to the window.. no one behind me. Pay and I'm asked to parked up by the side door. No worries got it. 8 minutes later.. two cars have come and gone and I'm still sitting here. Last I checked drive thurs are meant to be fast?? Park my car and go in... she explains that the dining room is full and they are busy.... they give me my bowls and it's wrong. They have given me a hash brown scramble with gravy... gravy and gluten free don't go hand and hand. They make a new bowl and I'm off. They only use one lady working the kitchen and she looked stressed... breakfast hour are usually busy.. you would think they would have more people?? They were all nice and friendly just a little irk! How is it that my Savannah location who is busier inside and outside with the drive Thur is faster then this location right off the highway?? Savannah, Georgia is a city filled with wonderous foodstuffs. You could live there a year and not get tired of the gourmet food offerings. Or the home-cooked Soul Food. Or the BBQ. Or the Fried Green Tomatoes. Et Cetera. So to actually LEAVE Savannah and make the 20 minute drive for a Krystal Burger? Krystal Addict! Krystal Addict! I could seriously stand up in a room and announce my addiction to these things. Thank goodness there were none south of Orlando in FL and the closest to me now is 5 states, 19 hours, 1400 miles from me now. (Not that I've looked. Or anything. Really.) (SQUIRREL!!!!!!!!) Ahem. Anyways. Krystal Burgers are similar to White Castle Burgers. White Castles come with Ketchup. Krystals come with Mustard. Both are steamed minibuns with miniburgers and miniChoppedOnions that come in little miniboxes. Krystal's buns are sweeter, and seem to hold the whole BurgerCheeseBunSteamSmoosh together better. Krystal Burgers come in Singles or Doubles, with or without cheese. You can order them by the "Sackful" (12) or "Steamer Pack" (24) if you're the stockpiling type. Or have 4 people in your party. There are Combos with 4 Krystal Burgers, fries and a drink. There are Chick'n Options, as well as "Pups" (Hot Dogs, which actually aren't bad) and breakfast items in the morning. If you've heard of them, Krystal (like White Castle) are legendary. You've heard stories of people buying the 24 pack, and noshing on them all the way Up North on I-95. Are they gourmet haute cuisine? No way. Are they delicious little steamed buns of heaven, sinful in their decadence, and deserving of such fanfare and legend? You Betcha. I decided to stop in here for a quick lunch while on the road from Saint Augustine, FL to Charleston, SC for the next leg of my trip home on February 28, 2016. I heard that this chain is a fast food place, and since this isn't anywhere near where I live, I thought I'd give it a try, especially since the newer reviews were better than some of the older ones. It was around 1 pm when I got here. This place definitely has the feel of a fast food restaurant. The place was empty when I came in, except for the staff of course. Since I hadn't been into a Krystal ever before this visit, I didn't realize they were the mini burgers as well. After looking over the menu, I had ordered the bacon cheese krystal combo with the chili fries. It wasn't too long before the order was ready. When they brought it out, the order was wrong. Come to find out, the cashier had rung up the wrong combo. Of course, the combo that was rung up was one of the other more expensive ones. Once I brought this up to their attention, a bit of push back was given. In the end, they did get the order corrected with the bacon cheese krystal burgers. Overall, the food was okay. It was worth at least trying the place out. If I see another place in the future, I'd still consider giving them another chance, but it would be at a different location than this one. Food Appetizer - none Main Course - Just a quick late dinner for me. I ordered the special that was four Krystal burgers. Like other reviewers I do not see why White Castle is so popular these are so much better. The four little sliders went down so easy. I could have ordered another four. Dessert - None Service - The lady at the counter was friendly. Manager even updated me on their sale in a few days. This was the by far single WORST burger I ever put in my mouth in my whole life!!!!!! I went inside the building and waited and waited as the 5 people working only handled the drive thru. I finally asked if anyone was going to take inside orders. A nice young man finally took the order and then I waited a long time for the fast food burgers. The employees were sitting at tables eating (note while with their drive through head phones on) while they made customers pull into parking spaces to wait for food. Our flight leaving Savannah was cancelled. (aren't they all?) The airline gave us a free night at a hotel in the middle of nowheresville. We got a cab to take us back into downtown because we figured we'd try and enjoy ourselves. So we have a good time, throw a few down, and we call the cab company to come pick us up. My wife, who is three sheets to the wind at this point, insists on having the driver take us to a Krystal Burger on the way back to the hotel. So a $40 cab ride later, she has her Krystals and is a happy camper. I'm thinking, as a Northerner who has never been in the southland before, holy shit these better be some damn fine burgers...and they're not...they're garbage...but at least she's happy. Don't waste your time! We were excited to grab some Krystal on our way through Georgia since we don't have them at home. We ordered 6 of the Nashville Hot Chiks, had to wait about 5 minutes for the two cars ahead of us to get their food, another few minutes at the window before we were asked to pull forward, then ANOTHER five minutes later we received our food. After pulling back on the highway we realized the sandwiches were on freezing cold, dry buns rather than the usual steamed buns (which are really the reason we go to Krystal in the first place), the chicken was overcooked, and none of the sandwiches had any mayo or pickles. One would think that after waiting so long they could have at least made our order correctly. Extremely disappointing as we did not have time to turn around and wait another 10+ minutes for it to be remade. Waited a while longer and then decided to call corporate while I waited, keep in mind I had not reached the drive thru window. While on the call explaining and giving info the car in front finally drive off and pulled up so the cashier me talking but not to who and starting laughing to the male at attending the front counter and walked to the back. I waited a while longer and received my food while still talking to the complaint line. I arrived home to find I had been pushed even more as the pictures show.
