This business deserves 0 stars…read more My experience with Emily & Michelle (the studio manager) was similar to the other 1 star reviews you will see on this page. They were by far the most unprofessional and disrespectful vendor I encountered during all of my wedding research. The biggest pain point was unresponsiveness which was consistently bad from day 1. It was silence for days despite multiple follow ups, even when we got to the month of the wedding. Whenever I did receive an overdue response, they were unapologetic and I might even say rude. Because of the concerns with communication, my planner kept trying to dissuade me from hiring Emily and I held out until the very last moment hoping to find another HMU artist. However, we were close to my wedding date and even with my planner's help, I wasn't able to find an alternative. So I reluctantly signed the contract a few days before the wedding and transferred a $1600 deposit. That's when I came across the reviews on this page about the no shows. That was the (much delayed) final straw, and coincidentally a HMU artist I had reached out to months prior reached out to say she was available for my wedding. So I notified Emily that evening asking if she would consider refunding any part of my deposit. Granted, she has no legal obligation to do so but it had been less than 24 hrs since I had sent her the deposit (in other words, less than 24 hrs that she held my wedding date which means no lost business for her). No response from her. She kept my $1600. Even with forfeiting the deposit, I decided to switch my HMU artist and 1000% believe I made the right decision. If I hadn't, I would have continued to stress about whether she would show up on my wedding day, and even if she had, I'm not sure how the experience would have gone. For example, if I wanted an adjustment to my hair or make up, would she have been accommodating? Shame on me for ever signing with Emily against my better judgement! I never write reviews but felt compelled to share this experience. I don't recommend her for any future brides.

After that, I followed up over text and email to confirm a trial and she was completely unresponsive. I saw her IG account was posting updates so I know she was still active online. Later my wedding planner reached out, and again she replied right away saying she was available and then ghosted him. Her behavior was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful, as we wasted time waiting for her, when it would be easy for her just to say she is not available or does not have capacity. Don't waste your time.

She had to go to another makeup appointment so I stayed back for 30 minutes taking my time getting ready and not feeling rushed. On the wedding day, Grace was very thoughtful and considered the proper amount of time her team would need to complete a round of hair and makeup for a group of 10, including the bride, groom, bridesmaids, MOB, MOG, and sister. Krystal and her assistant Mai did an incredible job with our wedding hair and makeup!! From the beginning, Krystal was very responsive and worked with me even though I booked her only 3 months away from my wedding. She scheduled a trial with me and I loved her work! Her prices were very reasonable as well. Krystal and Mai did hair and makeup for me (the bride), my stepmom, my mother-in-law, and my 5 bridesmaids, plus my husband's hair. Krystal even did my eyebrows for me that day. Everyone's turned out amazing - we were literally cheering with excitement as each person showed us their finished look! Both hair and makeup lasted the entire day (12+ hours), including lots of dancing at the reception. Krystal and Mai included touch-up kits as well in case we needed them. They did an incredible job finding us the right foundation colors (something that a few of us have had issues with in the past), and everyone's makeup looked very natural while still being glam and sparkly. I don't usually wear full makeup unless it's for a special occasion and I've had makeup done by professionals before, but Krystal's work stood out the most to me. My acne and dark spots were fully covered. Luckily Krystal did airbrush makeup so it lasted all day through the heat. The makeup felt light, was natural, flawless, and not cakey at all. The eye makeup was GORGEOUS. The faux lashes didn't bother me--my eyelids were comfortable throughout the day, and the glitter with the eyeshadow really added to the look. I went with simple curls, but Krystal added some volume and a little side clip up so that my bangs weren't covering my face too much. I stumbled across Krystal's business when searching on Groupon for a reasonable price to do my brows. From our first encounter, she was very professional and attentive to my questions and concerns. When I arrived for my session she was very friendly and aware of when it was time to numb me more so I wouldn't feel pain. The two hours flew by as we talked the entire time and I walked out a new person. I absolutely loved the shape and shade that was exactly what I wanted. The hairstylist she brought with her (Jo) was also perfect! 2) The make-up and hair looked good ALL NIGHT!! I even looked good at the hotel bar AFTER the wedding! 3) Stacie was able to adapt to changing circumstances. Technical skills are great, but if you can't get the job done in time, it is for naught. Stacie and Jo arrived at the hotel over 30 minutes early (because they know how important the big day is, and they didn't want to be late if they got lost) and they got started right away. Timing wise, they had planned everything perfectly. However, there were some bumps in the road from my wedding party on the big day: one person who had adamantly said that she did not want make-up decided that she did indeed want make-up, and then numerous people showed up with wet hair. Not only did they STILL manage to get everyone done on time, both Stacie and Jo were such good sports about the whole thing. 4) The pricing was extremely fair: if anything, it was a bit of a steal given how great of a job they did and how wonderful they were to work with. 5) Stacie (and Jo) are just lovely women. Before meeting them, I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of having to do a trial hair and make-up run, but I actually had SO MUCH FUN with them!! And having them around when we were getting ready for the wedding just made everything better: they were just lots of fun and put everyone at ease. EVERYONE in the bridal party commented about how much they loved Stacie and Jo. I have had my hair and make-up done before, but I have never had such a good experience. Not only did my hair and make-up look better than they ever had before, but I had so much fun with the process because Stacie and Jo are so great! Book Stacie: you won't regret it!!
