Please read before taking your boat or PWC for service. They have lost their way.... My family and I have patronized Krupas for the last 25 years. Unfortunately, this year will be our last. Over those 25 or so years we have purchased 5 new boats, 3 used boats, several small engines and countless water toys. The service department used to be the best around, but now they are, in my opinion, one of the worst. They cannot be trusted to fix things properly, and they always have an excuse as to why it's the customers fault. I'll start with our first problem. We purchased a new pontoon from them, and it had problems starting after its first use. I called them and explained the problem. The service manager stated that "it sounds like you are using bad gas", I countered with " we only use "rec" fuel and stabilizer, and that there has to be some other issue. We took it in, they rebuilt the carbs and said again to me "bad gas". I told them I had several other boats, and I use the same fuel in all of them. None of the other boats have issues. They kept saying "bad gas." They treated me as if I had I no idea how to diagnose an issue with a boat. Next year, same issue. Rebuilt the carbs again, they said "bad gas." I reiterated to them it can't be the gas! Finally after 4 years of issues they discovered that it had a factory defect that was allowing water to enter the gas tank. At that point I should have cut ties with them. How does a trained technician miss such an obvious solution. Second issue, same boat. The manufacturer had a recall on the seats because of an issue with mold building up inside of the foam. They never informed me of the issue, but when I mentioned it to them, they said "oh yeah, we knew about it, we can replace the seats for you, but you have to pay the labor bill. After much back and forth, we settled on splitting the labor costs. As I should have expected, the labor cost was double what the quote was. So did we really split the cost? When they delivered the boat in the spring, the new seats were installed. After some inspection, I discovered the sun deck seat was improperly installed. The snap that holds the seat down was nowhere near the riveted male portion. Also, the captain's seat was "wobbly." If that wasn't enough poor installation, one of the seats completely misses the bracket underneath, so if you put pressure in the corner it sinks into the storage area. I informed the delivery driver to please make a note of the issues and I would take care of it in the fall. I didn't want to miss any weekends on the lake. When they picked the boat up in the fall, I told the driver to please make sure they fix the seats. They didn't fix them. As I'm writing this review they just called me about the seats. They said they can't be fixed and that it is issue with the manufacturer. Just one more thing! They are unbelievable! Finally the issue that prompted me to write this review. With a pandemic going on around us, I'm sure I'm not the only person who isn't using their weekend getaway as much this year. The cost of shrink wrapping and winterizing a pontoon is substantial, and I made a decision to just keep the boat wrapped this year. I called Krupas three weeks before our original scheduled delivery and asked them to push it back a month because we weren't sure if it was going in the water this year. They said no problem. That was in the beginning of May. I called back a week before the delivery and asked them to deliver it wrapped and put it in the driveway. They said again, no problem. Then they called me three days before the delivery and stated that the boat had been unwrapped for a month and that I would have to pay to have it wrapped back up and winterized. I asked, " how could that be?" I specifically told them three weeks before the original delivery date to keep it wrapped and they said okay! If they would have said at that point that is was unwrapped already I would taken delivery of it. I'll admit I was a little angry and may have had a few choice words for the service manager, but all the years of poor service and issues with them came to a head in that one conversation. The service manager yelled at me! Nice example to set for the other employees! When a long time customer, who has spent over six figures with your business has an issue, YELL AT HIM! So that's my review of Krupas. I have already found another local marine to take care of my boats. The price is better and the service can't possibly be worse. I really hope that this review helps anyone who reads it to find somewhere else to take their boats! read more

They had in stock the exact part needed and went the extra mile to set the part up so it was simple to install. So, I rewarded them with a $1,300 purchase of a drive wheel that I was waiting on. Very disappointed with recent service at Krupa's. We have been using Krupa for over 15 years to service our boats and had always been pleased. However this year our service from them has been nothing but a complete debacle. Firstly when we picked up our raft boar this Spring it was sitting in the parking lot completely uncovered for who know how long. Then after launching our wave runner we discovered as it took on water that the plug had not been put in. And unfortunately the straw that broke this back is when we launched our speed boat to find out it had absolutely no oil in it. The level of incompetency we have experienced this year is beyond belief. But the most disheartening of all is the lack of accountability Krupa has shown during all of this. read more

I tried to get service and was told they would contact me when they opened following covid restrictions. After 2 more follow up calls, I was told that I could get on the end of their list. Last time I had service done, they didn't fix the problem but I have limited options for servicing my Yamaha outboard. I do NOT recommend using this dealer. read more

What ever happened to customer service? Purchased a brand new pontoon early spring of 2018 and the livewell was faulty. It's been a year and a half and I am still without a proper livewell because they failed twice to verify the correct part. Did I mention the 1st time they came to pick up my boat for warranty work they damaged my bimini in transit? I turned them into Better Buisiness Bureau and they failed to respond back. Not very happy. We bought a boat they told us they would power wash it, didn't happen and was almost empty on gas. The navigation lights weren't working, which they assured us they would fix and check. For the price we paid I expected a little more tlc on the boat before they delivered. I will be busy pressure washing what they said they would do. Also the customer service is sub par. I don't recommend buying a boat here unless you want empty promises after you pay them read more

Beware of service!!!!Not very competent people in the service department. If they say they are going to call you back..,..good luck with that it will take several tries of you leaving messages. Their machine shop is unreliable. You may be told you need a $5000 engine when in fact all you needed was a cylinder head for $1200. Then when you contact them and tell them what was found and ask for a refund of your money back for services not received,it was like pulling teeth with no apology or sympathy for their misdiagnosis or lack of diagnosis. We had great experience with Krupa when purchasing our first boat. There was a bit of a wait as everybody was gone for a boat show but even so, they were very nice and helpful. Charlie was our sales person and he is the sweetest person, very professional. We had an issue with the boat after a while and returned to them for service. Dave took care of us and even waived the fees associated with the repairs. Great place, great people! read more

Purchased a new aqua patio pontoon boat from Krupa in May of 2016. Sale and delivery on the pontoon all went smooth. However, the boat was delivered with a broken speaker and electrical problems. I have been waiting over 6 weeks and the service department will not return my calls or come service the boat. I am now trying to contact the boat manufacturer to find another way to get the boat serviced as it is covered under warranty. I would not recommend buying from this dealer! Very thrilled with the company and the sales staff. The service department could use some help. I purchased a pontoon from them through Aaron last year at the Detroit boat show. Any time I called Aaron with issues or concerns he took care of it immediately. The service department though is a joke. They will NOT return your calls if you leave them a message. If they say that they will look into something and get back to you, same thing...., NO call back. Kept our boat 20 days in July to fix Mercury motor problem. If we hadn't complained, we wouldn't have got it back then. Promised boat would be done at least four different dates.Ordered parts that didn't fix problem, so ordered more parts a second time. Blamed supplier in Wisconsin for long wait. Krupa's gets supplier discount; doesn't want to pay for overnight delivery via FedEx, UPS, USPS or use another supplier. We were told to drive in back of service area to find boat unlike auto dealerships and Jackson Glass that bring cars to the front door. Discovered Krupa's had torn mooring cover and had a patch put on. We appreciated that, but the side tie-down strap wasn't sewn back on. Found it on the deck. No one told us in advance. No discount for poor service. Charged $400 for labor and over $200 for parts. When called to report problem wasn't fixed, Krupa's said bring boat/motor back and they would continue to charge us labor and parts. That was an offer we could refuse! Award-winning service is history (2010). Things have changed. We had been going to Krupa's for 38 years, but don't feel valued as customers. Read reviews and find another business. read more
