Shrimp in a Blanket $6.50 & Tod Mun Pla $6.50 5/2014
Vivian C.

Thai take-out for lunch? Anytime! Give me pad thai, and I'm a happy girl! Their Chicken Satay ($6.50 off the website) was that scary golden yellow, but quite nice and tender, and worth getting even though we also had a rendition in the chilled Satay Salad $6.95 (chicken satay on a bed of lettuce, cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, and egg slices served with peanut sauce). Shrimp in a Blanket $6.50 (delicate whole shrimp wrapped with crispy egg roll skin. Served with house sweet chili sauce) arrived as 4, perhaps but 2 inches long from tip to tail. Fresh Roll $5.50 (rice paper wrapped with tofu, lettuce, carrot, cucumber, avocado, and basil leaves. Served with a sweet brown sauce.) were 3 to an order Tod Mun Pla $6.50 (the most famous Thai dish minced shrimp and fish beaten with Thai curry paste, deep fried into golden brown. Served with crushed peanuts on cucumber sauce) was something I never had before. It didn't look exactly appetizing, but it was interesting in texture and taste. Chicken Pad Thai $7.95 (A popular Thai noodle dish. Rice Noodles stir-fried with egg, scallions, bean sprouts and ground peanuts.) was yummy though it was poultry alone (aka no shrimp). Everything was tasty. They deliver!

Raw chicken!! Placed order and was told 30 minutes. Had to wait over 75 minutes to get order. Got home to find that the two orders of chicken satay was totally RAW! We called the restaurant for a refund. The manager said we needed to bring the food back to get a refund, then the manager hung up on me! I took the raw chicken back where she then refunded the two orders. Disgraceful that the manager didn't offer her sincere apology for the chicken being under cooked and didn't offer a coupon for a future visit or additional refund or anything! Don't go to this restaurant ever! They didn't take responsibility at all! I hope no one in my family gets food poison or salmonella.

Food is good but the service during peak hours is a little bad. Ordered on Christmas eve and waited like 2 hrs.

Found an authentic Sichuan spot in a Boston suburb - a must for spice lovers!…read more Skip the first half of the menu (the usual Americanized Chinese dishes). Flip to the back - that's where the real Sichuan heat begins! The spice level is similar to Spicy Hunan Kitchen in Woburn MA, but different: Hunan-style hits you with straight-up heat, while this place infuses the numbing Sichuan pepper and chili oil deep into every bite. Way more flavorful and addictive

What looks like a tiny shopping center restaurant is actually a megaplex when you get inside…read more They've combined two storefronts into one, to include a dining room and a few different bar areas. Gigantic TV larger than a garage door. They do Japanese (which we skipped). They do old school Chinese (which we hit with the apps). And they do authentic Chinese (which we hit for the entrees). Boneless Spareribs: The only downside: they were on the thin side. But they more than made up for it with wilting tenderness, a silky-juicy mouth feel, char, and plenty of sticky glaze that didn't taste like it just came out of a jar. This was more complex, with possibly hoisin mixed in and/or a marinade of some kind underneath. Among the best around. Elite. Wings: Plump, crisp, and juicy are no way to go through life, son. Unless you're a chicken wing. Good flavor here too, with five spice lingering and natural chicken flavor singing loudest. Well above average to near-elite. They also do a garlic sauce version, which I'd like to try. Chicken Egg Rolls: Noticeably lengthy fry time for extra crispness; not sure if it's by design, but I liked it. Inside, a novel egg roll experience, with a moist mix that felt and tasted like a chicken stir fry. Like a few other egg rolls I've had recently, I wouldn't want to have this every time, but a unique item that's worth a try and worth returning for. Above average. Mixed Mushroom Fish Filets: Delicate fish with black fungus and other mushrooms for textural contrast, soaking in a light brown bath thinner than a sauce but thicker than a broth. Plenty of flavor, with a little sweetness but mostly savory and a bit of heat. Great with rice. No "grade" since I have no comparisons, but this dish was fantastic and even better as leftovers the next day. Cumin Fried Beef: Somewhat crisp exterior and thick pieces, though not as tender as could be. Lots going on with the flavor, with a flurry of peppercorns, whole cumin seeds, and at least one other kind of seed on the surface. Some celery stalks, and plenty of heat underneath. This is a barometer dish of mine, so I try it often. I liked this one, but can think of a few others that impress me more, so gotta say average. Still good. Twice Cooked Pork: Another barometer dish, this one boasted ribbons of thin cooked belly with a firm exterior and bendability. Mildly spicy, somewhat salty, and somewhat sweet, with some fermented beans and even some thin potato slices. Enjoyable for sure, but a bit below average. Solid meal. No duds, and a couple at elite or close. The old school fare compared more favorably against its counterparts than the authentic did against theirs (still enjoyed though), but nice to see a place that does well at both.
