I am a fan of this location. A couple of years ago I would have given a different review but coming back here more often it has changed. Prob newer management? Anyway this store is very clean. They are always in stock of the items I am looking for. Produce section is spacious with a good variety. The interactions I have had with the bakery department have been very impressive. They always seem friendly and willing to help in whatever way they can. Living closer to this location now I will be going there frequently. One of the biggest things that stood out for me was that they have one full isle dedicated to multi cultural cuisine that range from sauces to candy to drinks. I've shopped at the Cedar Hill location on several occasions via in-person, online pickup and via instacart. I've always had great service until today. I placed an online pickup & paid via online at 430pm for a 7pm to 8pm pickup. At 431pm I got my normal text confirmation that my order had been confirmed & it stated they would notify when it is ready. So, time goes by & around 730pm I noticed that I hadn't gotten any text or email notifications. So, I logged onto my Kroger account only to discover they my order had been canceled. There was no explanation as to why nor did I receive any call or notification. So, I tried calling but their customer service desk was closed. So I decided to do an online chat with customer service & they tried but they also could not see a reason as to why it was canceled. A phone call, text or email would have been nice. read more

Disgusting store. Not clean and terrible customer service. I waited too long at the unmanned seafood counter. Finally, I decided to call the store to ask for help. No one answered the phone after several minutes. Finally, I saw a young man passing by who appeared to be cleaning the store. I asked him if he could get help for the Seafood counter. After several more minutes, another gentleman came out, did not speak and stood there and looked at me as though to say, "What do you want?" I told him what I wanted. He gave me my order and asked me if there was anything else without so much as an apology or a thank you. I will never go back to this store again, as this is not the first time I have had a poor experience at this location. At a time when customers have several shopping choices, Kroger really needs to get it together as a franchise. The Mansfield location is not much better. read more

I would give this store 5 stars...but Sarah made it impossible for me to leave an impeccable customer service review. She was rude and did not want to help...all because she was "not a morning person" I did, however, to meet Zach, whom is the morning cashier today. He was helpful on looking for items I was unsuccessful at locating. He also let me know that he asked the manager when he came in to work where something was located. We need more associates like Zach. He was kind, courteous...which made it a more pleasant atmosphere as well. I am in this store daily, which makes t necessary for me to leave a fair review. Zach is a 5-star...but as you see my experience was less than that. read more

ME: After Throat Cancer, 4 surgeries and recent back surgery I personally know what PAIN does to a person body and mind their daily function. I selected a one start just for this moment/ the Kroger Pharmacist gave me another patients PAIN MEDS / I took the med back up to Kroger pharmacy/ To my amazement the pharmacist on duty had NOT ONE CARE or CONCERN!!!. Would not even come and talk to say I'm sorry or did you take the med? are they all there? etc. TECH: was surprised even though it took her a minute to believe me. after asking me questions she gave me my medication. Because the pharmacist refuse to look my way to acknowledge me I had to ask tech to delivery my Thoughts of concerns 1. ME: I take two other major controlled pain meds [recent back surgery] would that have cause me a negative reaction? TECH: pharmacist said, " NO, "Meloxicam" is just like Tylenol" . 2. ME: I'm under pain management contract, I don't want it to show like i purchased different pain medication because INSURANCE policies are NO JOKE when it comes to pain medication. TECH: enlarged her eyes as she turn her head and smiled and walked away. 3. what hurt me the most was that the pharmacist / teammates and ABSOULUTY , ZERO CONCERN OR APOLOGY- NOTHING!!!! 4. If I could give this place a zero I would . I was just in there to get my registration and I had to stand at the the customer service counter for 11 mins in order for someone to come out and help me while on their AirPods having a conversation about some property . Before the worker came out several managers saw me standing there several minutes and never said a word . I even asked a cashier was anyone working customer service only for her to have a nasty attitude and was completely angry cause I asked ! This business need to respect the customers time . read more

i walked into this store in a relatively good mood, which was made even better when I was given a gift card by Star-Telegram representatives simply for entering a raffle. However, by the time that I left, nearly all of my good vibes were gone. I recently moved back to this area from Austin, and while no stores in Cedar Hill can compete with H-E-B, I am determined to make the best of what is available here. This was my first time shopping at Kroger in years, and I was really happy with the deals that I found. I found natural peanut butter for less than $2, and it didn't have any of the additives that more expensive brands sneak into their nut butters. The salmon I'd gone there for specifically was on sale. I was one happy shopper, and repeatedly wondered why I hadn't liked this store when I lived here previously. The good feelings kept coming as I found Halo Top on sale for $3. In order to take advantage of the sale, I had to have the digital coupons app, which I hurriedly downloaded. The app also gave me the option to sign up for what I thought was the Kroger Plus card, only the digital version of it. I was short on time at this point, so I took my purchases to self-checkout, where everything immediately went to crap. The kiosk didn't prompt me to scan the app's barcode, nor did it request my phone number, so I just started scanning my items, thinking I would have the opportunity to do so at the end. However, I didn't have that opportunity, and to add insult to injury, several sale items had rung up at their regular prices. An assistant manager huffed over, and I told her that I wasn't getting any of the discounts I should have received. I didn't even get a chance to tell her about the coupons app, because she condescendingly asked me if I had a "Kroger card". Shocker of shockers, having the card told her that I had just signed up for it on the app, and she rudely told me that I should have scanned it when I first got started. When I told her that I didn't see it in the app, she said that it meant that I didn't have one, and insinuated that I was SOL. I offered to look through the app's features, and told her I would find the card I had just signed up for. As I did this, she impatiently stared (more like glared) at me and repeated her refrain about me not actually having a card. The manner in which this woman spoke me to was absolutely ridiculous, and ridiculously unnecessary. She was supposed to help me, but instead went out of her way to belittle me and speak to me as though I were the dumbest person she had ever encountered in her life. Given that this woman was easily pushing sixty, that says a lot. It wasn't until that I said that I wouldn't buy anything and started to walk away that she changed her tune. Suddenly, there was a physical Kroger Plus card that she could use to solve got from another register. She scanned it, and the discounts started rolling in. You know how a couple treats their toddler who just learned how to walk? All happy, and speaking in exaggerated tones to celebrate and encourage their child's progress? That's how this woman spoke to me when the total changed. I told her about my gift card, and she put on the same "I'm so happy for you, you big dummy" tone as she told me to swipe it. It was passive-aggressive as hell. She then asked me how I would handle the remaining balance as though I had absolutely no money at all, and I sarcastically responded with, "with my own funds". She then clarified that she was referring to cash or debit, and when I said produced my card, she told me to put my chip in. Who does that? I have never had anyone in customer service treat me this way. This woman stopped short of asking me how I was able to dress myself everyday, and spoke to me the way most adults would speak to a three year-old. Adding insult to injury is the fact that she didn't have to subject me to any of it. She could have explained that I was mistaken about what I'd signed up for, and offered me a Kroger Plus card from the outset. There would have been no disrespect, no belittling comments, and no condescending attitude from her at all. I am at a complete loss as to why she did this. I suppose that I could have told her that I didn't appreciate her behavior, but I think she knew, and telling her wouldn't have helped. I will let store leadership know that their assistant managers have no concept of what good customer service should be. read more

Whenever I'm in Texas, I go Kogering. My first stop is always the seasonings aisle. The north is missing the boat. Then I go to the soda aisle for my Big Red Soda. The selection of sausages is massive. The last stop is for Blue Bell ice cream. Boy do I love Kogering. read more

Order grocery pick up at noon today for pickup 5-6pm. A girl from Kroger calls me at 4:41 to say my pick up won't be ready till 7:30pm. I said ok, but wasn't really happy about it because this was for tonight's dinner but knew they may need a little more time. Showed up at 7:30pm they came out and said we are getting your cold foods together. Called them back at 8:00 pm they said that they still needed to get the grapes and milk. Its been an hour waiting 8:30 tried to call back and they didn't pick up. Tried to call into the store customer service just kept ringing. Called the number on the sign again and they said they need another 10 minutes that was 8:37. This store is the worst in customer service. Got the food at 9:02pm.I will not order from them again. I have been coming here for awhile and enjoy there Sushi that they make. However st this location I was surprised that they don't offer Sushi at this location. I will come here to get certain items that are not offered at other stores but it is not my go to grocery store. Kroger can be a little bit pricey but the meats and vegetables are always fresh and of good quality. The fruit at times have been a little hit and miss but all in all good as well. I like the self check out and if you come with coupons you can save a few bucks. So all in all you come out on top! read more

Terrible after hours service (10pm. or later)!!!! After 10pm. only self service check outs are available. When I was there, there were 3 registers and lots of people trying to self check out produce (which need codes/weights) and one attendant. When I approached the register I asked the attendant if there was anyone that could open a regular register, he said no. After ringing up $100 of grocery by myself. The register froze and two "managers' were called. They offered to re-checkout me out at a register which would take ONLY 5 minutes. The 15 minutes it took me to check myself out the first time was enough for me. I WILL NEVER return to this Kroger. They lived up to their "why bother" Cedar Hill reputation. read more

I guess my main problem I have with this store is the same problem I have with all Kroger's. They have gotten really bad about not having enough cashiers and enough lanes open. They are still doing better than another grocery place I won't mention---that place is doing good to have one lane open. The floors looked pretty bad the other night but they were also doing a lot of stocking and it was late at night so I'm guessing they cleaned it up before they got their flow of customers the next morning. read more

I. Just. Can't. Do. Walmart. Walmart is really trying to drive every other grocery store out of Cedar Hill by building a new Walmart every 25 feet along Beltline. I really hope Kroger holds out. Anyhoo.... I needed help finding out what I needed to cook a roast for the first time. A store manager (I think her name was Barbara) walked me through everything I needed all the way down to the seasonings. Can't get that at Walmart! AND my roast turned out great. This location is good with fresh produce and a neat store. I try to only get things with a sale tag. My total for my birthday dinner went from 170 to 138. Not bad. I went to self check out and had the most disrespectful experience. . I used my coupons. I did the 10 for 10 beef jerky with 2 different type of coupons. Air wick, huggies wipes and pamper , toothpaste and toothbrush. . All within the coupon policy. When i checked the prices I noticed that i didnt get the promotion sell. I told Jessica who was in charge of the self check out and she snapped at me saying its the sale or the coupons i cant do both . ( which is a lie ) she than she continued to say very loud that if i could not afford it i shouldnt have gotten it . I was in the area for holiday. The day before Thanksgiving, I visited Kroger to buy ingredients for my cooking. Several employees asked me what I was looking for and patiently pointed me to the right aisle while they had other things to do. I was quite surprised because supermarket staff in the east coast is never this friendly and helpful. At the self-check out, we got confused and frustrated with the process, another worker helped us very patiently with a cheerful attitude. Overall, a really pleasant shopping experience. Yes, they have pretty produce, but that is all that is good and nice about this Kroger. I suppose it's so they can trick you from a quick glance as you walk past on your way to Blockbuster! I'm a Kroger Girl - I absolutely love this grocery store in Cedar Hill! The produce guys and check out staff know me by name here. They have a good selection of natural & organic foods that won't brake the bank. They also have a fantastic sale rack in the natural/organic section where I always find great deals. Kroger also has their own Organic brand throughout the store. They have all the natural brands that Whole Foods & Central Market carry at much better prices and much closer to home! read more

This is rather interesting that another person has a similar name to me in the DFW area. I would've never guessed it. Well, this location is very attentive to me and my family. We have 3 MI teenagers, so shopping in general is a complicated matter. Adding couponing on top of that and any shopping trip could be just flat out exhausting. I have never had an issue here and the employees are generally nice. There are a few cashiers that like to rush things and throw my items across the scanner before I have even pulled out my Kroger card. Since we are a large family, plus we use coupons, I like to take my time and make sure that our budget stays on track. I have came to the point that when I have to make a large purchase, I have to tell the cashier to wait before ringing up my items. The floral department is great. The lady who is usually there is very friendly and helpful. She is also very mindful of my kids' allergies and helps me accordingly. I do have to say that I only shop there for large purchases before nighttime, because they do shut down all lanes and only use self-checkout. I learned that the hard way as well. read more

This Kroger is awesome! It's located in Cedar Hill, in the midst of all the shopping centers. The store is very well stocked with produce, packaged goods, and other odds and ends, products are easy to locate, and the store is very coupon friendly. They phone system has ear piercing hold music, after u have been holding several minutes the phone starts ring like someone is about to pick up for about 20 rings but they pick up and put you right back on hold and after they do this a couple times then they hang up on you. They say the phone system hangs up after so long. They CAN'T even apologise for it. read more

I recently purchased a lemon meringue pie and was so disappointed to see once I cut into the pie, that there was a tremendous amount of meringue and very little lemon pie!!! The meringue was about 2 inches high to about .5 inch (or less) of pie!!! I will have to contact the bakery manager to have a word about this as well. read more
