I ordered a cake from HEB a week in advance for my friends birthday. It was supposed to be a tall round cake I even PRINTED out pictures for them to reference. It wasn't a super intricate cake and if it was something they couldn't do they could've said so. I went to pick my cake up today and it is NOTHING like I asked for. It was supposed to be double layer with lots of frosting work and even a small frosting image on the cake. There was supposed to be pearls on it. It is NOTHING like the pictures I gave them. It is basically a single layer round green cake. I could've made this. I was picking it up before dinner and there was nothing I could do about it at all except accept the cake and leave. I was expecting to spend 30-45 dollars and this cake ended up being 9 dollars if that tells you just how much they did not do to this cake. read more

I love love love HEB, but there are still none in the city of Dallas! This is the closest one to me and it's ALWAYS busy! There's nothing really stand out about this location. The only thing worth mentioning is that the area for drive-up orders is very tight! I'm always afraid that the staff might get hit by an inattentive driver. Let me start by saying, that I have shopped at HEB grocery stores, but I have posted anything about it. First apologies, I forgot to take pictures, to include with this review. I just love coming to this place and it's very obvious in all appearance that staff have pride (which many places lack sad to say), the store is very clean, staff very friendly and always ready to assist you. The shopping buggies are also clean as well. Today I was in the hunt for (no not the Red October, yep movie reference), but for breakfast cereal. I purchased the HEB brands and why not? They have the same ingredients as the name brand cereals. Yes, yes, I purchased seven (7) boxes of cereal. The child in me could not resist. This is one of the most clean and organized grocery stores I have been to, but not just this store but every HEB, grocery store. The cashier who checked me out was Ms. Kim H., with a sweet smile, and very cheerful. She was very friendly and it's employees, like her that makes me want to visit again. Ennis Texas has a pantry store within 15 minutes and it's just as busy. While we plan to move back to the Houston area wouldn't it be a good idea to enlarge Ennis, improve customer service in both locations and give Walmart a fight for the business???? My husband is from the Houston area, so the fact that there isn't a local H-E-B here in Dallas was a bummer for him. So I figured, why not take a "road trip" to Waxahachie and let him get a taste of home while getting some dope grocery prices while we're at it? And I'm glad we did. The truth is...my father-in-law grills some of the best steaks in Texas. And one of the reasons is the H-E-B brand steak seasoning. We had some steaks in the freezer that we wanted to throw on the grill; so this trip to Waxahachie was well worth it. ;) H-E-B has some incredibly delicious selections in their sushi section, their bakery, produce, and MEATS. And everything is so well priced! We already love going to Central Market here in Dallas, but something about HEB's selections made bulk shoppin there feel so productive! read more

I'm not sure where to start on this one but it's a little like bucees for groceries. You know how much I like my Texas based Buc-ee's. We'll I would always hear about HEB literally from everyone. It could be that HEB was the only place that sells post oak wood or sells a specific type of coffee or has this or that. I was remembering or at least misremembering my experience with HEB from my Katy, TX days and the HEB store called Rainbow or something like that was like ALDI and I not a fan. But one I let that go man oh man HEB is some kind of something. Great prices and really great items. Like some of the best of almost anything. We love our HEB and so glad that we don't have to shop at Walmart. I have done a lot of curbside over the last year but have also still been going inside the store for things. The curbside runs so smooth and the inside is always clean and there are lots of employees around working the tail off and willing to help you if you have a question. Fresh produce and lots of choices for different items. I recently bought some Crazy Mineral Water and was told about this item by a friend. I didnt actually think it was called Crazy water but sure enough! Check out is quick and employees are nice and make conversation. Lots of parking although the lot is always full! Visited this one a lot when we lived here. They are doing a lot of construction in the front. It's interrupted the garden area which is what I came for, as other HEB stores have a specific potting soil for sale that is hard to find. Clean, price conscious and always with beautiful produce, we shopped there on our trips. Later, when Central Market opened in Dallas, we were thrilled to find out it was a gourmet market subsidiary of H-E-B. Then, be still my beating heart, a H-E-B superstore opened in Waxahachie just south of us!! I had to pinch myself. Founded in 1905, H-E-B operates more than 358 stores, is the #1 food retailer in the Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Rio Grande Valley markets and the largest private company in Texas. The biggest and exotic fruits and vegetables may go to Central Market; but the same quality for eating purposes comes to this store, too. The difference you ask? The price. Fresh tortillas are made here. Sushi is made on site. There's a scratch bakery. They have Custom Meat Cutting, a Full Service Butcher Case, Grass Fed Beef, Organic Meat, and Prime Beef. They have Floral with Wedding service and an extensive wine and beer selection. Gourmet Cheeses flank the full service deli and ready to eat foods, fresh squeezed juices. There's an unbelievable Sausage and Standard meat selection in the refrigerated section with cuts for different needs. I have never had any issues with HEB before until today. We had to get some last minute blooms for a babyshower and even apologized to the floral lady that we bought out most of the blooms (which we didn't have to) . She said she understood and even let us know we could order in bulk in the future. We thanked her and went on to continue shopping until the floor manager literally followed us to berate us about it. She repeatedly told us that next time we needed to place an order a week in advance because now we left her with no blooms for her customers. I let her know we had already spoken to the floral lady about it and she had already informed us about bulk orders (which we were not aware of before today obviously). She was not in anyway kind and continued to make us feel like we ourselves were not customers to her standards. I really hope no one ever gets followed like this and gets berated over something we had already discussed with the floral lady. We decided to end our shopping after that interaction because felt uncomfortable with how it was handled. read more

Since I moved to the area, all I have heard was "You must go to H-E-B" so I did and noticed that this location is much different than the Central Market that is near downtown. The prices are higher and the selection of fresh items are not the same. After searching the bakery area for multi-berry muffins I was told that they didn't have them in months while standing in front of the bakery area. So I went to grab some Guacamole and noticed that it was a dollar higher. After that I turned to the deli which is across the aisle from the bakery just to hear that they don't make sandwiches.Customer service was decent and the environment was good. So I get it, one more grocery and the other is a market. I will continue to drive out to the Market Place and get the things I need. read more

Today was my wife and I first time going to H‑E‑B. First I wanna say we spent 300$ in the store as well. The overall experience was great. Staff was friendly everybody was helpful. We found everything we needed. I'm making this review because we purchased 3 packages of ground beef. I noticed that upon grabbing the last one we noticed it had a fly in it. Now I don't know who dropped the ball with this one but this is very disturbing. For many reasons of course because now I have to throw it away. Which means we spent money on it and can't eat it. Not to mention how it makes us feel about the other meats we purchased as well. read more

H‑E‑B is the best for people that need a electric cart to get around. When I go to the Waxahachie Store they see me pulling into a Handicap Spot. A store associate asks me if I need a electric cart. I tell yes... and I get one next to my car. Then when I'm done shopping another associate takes me to my car loads my purchases in my car and drives away in the cart. I live in Ferris Tx. Bad first impression. Drove an hour and a half to do a curbside pick up for the first time shopping here. Got confirmation order was ready for pick up, but when I arrived an employee informed me that my items were out of stock. This was very frustrating considering the times we are in (gas is very high now) and I had to bring along two young kids. Will I ever shop here again? Not likely. Amazing employees that are more than happy to help you find what you're in search of. I was looking for truffles to add in my mac n cheese dish the other night. 3 employees helped me search. After a few minutes of searching and a quick call to their produce manager, we learned that they didn't carry them. I was grateful for the search-party nonetheless. Not a single employee made me feel as though I was a bother. They make a lot of things in-house: tortillas, donuts, cakes/pies/cookies, fresh bread, sushi and many more items. Floral selection full of fresh picks. They also sale clothes & toys. Do not sleep on H-E-B. Check them out at least once! read more

I have heard rumors about this brand being found up North of the Metropolex, but EVERY WHERE I have looked it's been a No Dice. So here is the only place I know to find it, so I stalk up every time. I'm not a fan of Tabasco with its vinegar taste, and this stuff has none of that. They have XX & XXX kinds. Both have a nice kick. But anyway, I like the store itself. They do samples and have alot of fresh foods. Plus always seem to have some kind of good sales going on. Hope someday HEB will come to the Metropolex but until then, Waxahachie I'll go. read more

Forget this being very nice HEB because it's just a NICE grocery store regardless of the name and affiliation! The aisles are remarkably clean and fully stocked to the brim. They even have the ultra rare Kauai Coffee Company K-Cups that I am mainly restricted to purchasing online. An impressive thing about this store is the fresh nut, candy and powder section in between Dairy and Frozen Foods. Here, you can fill your own sealed bags of (for example) banana chips, custom trail mix, gummy worms and even protein powder. There's a new Redbox machine on the Beauty, Bath and Cosmetic side entrance side of the store. This store virtually has everything so visit if you find yourself in Waxahachie at any point. read more

The store is ok but way too small for the number of shoppers in the area. If they don't expand soon I'll be wishing for a Kroger to open soon as this place is way to crazy busy .
