HEB is a very unique store with great items that most stores don't carry..for instance we just bought Whatabutrger jalapeño ranch in a bottle! The store is pretty big and if your have shiny object syndrome like me it's easy to get carried away and go look at all of the cute clothes and shoes they have conveniently placed in the middle of the store for all to see! They have a pretty large sushi selection and based off of the samples I've tried, it's pretty good too! We tend to drive all the way out to this location for a specific spicy sauce that's hard to find and meats for when we are having a big party (like memorial day weekend!)The fajita meat and ribs are pretty good quality and the prices are great for what you get! I think if we lived closer this would be a regular grocery stop for us! read more

I love HEB I drove all the way from Garland to Waxahachie just to do some grocery shopping. I lived in Houston for a couple years and when I moved to Dallas I was bummed that there was no HEB. I've been in Dallas almost 3 years now and just found out through my coworker that there's a HEB in Waxahachie. I was excited so I decided to give them a try. The customer service was great. Love this HEB! Sundays are family grocery days and always seem to be crowded no matter the time of day. The produce section is always fresh. The warm grab & go snacks are always stocked with quick bites to eat, or you can venture to the counter where you have more options. Meat counter seems to have a good selection of meats and seafood. Keep your eyes peeled for coupons hanging near certain items where you can get a few bucks off or take advantage of BOGO. If you catch HEB on a day where they are serving samples, well you are in luck. They are usually yummy foods and additional items always seem to find a way into my basket. The lines can definitely be a pain, as its hit or miss to whether they move quickly or not. Definitely is my pick to shop when another big chain is right next door. read more

This is one of their "Plus" stores that carries food as well as clothing and housewares. There is a tortilla making area (the mitad y mitad are wonderful!) as well as a sushi and butcher section. The wine selection is amazing with a 10% discount offered if you purchase 6 bottles or more. The produce section offers house made guacamole (regular and spicy) as well as several packaged salads, veggie snacks, and fresh squeezed juices. The deli cuts meats and cheeses to order as well as stocking pre sliced options in the case. They also carry great rotisserie chickens, take n bake pizzas, as well as several snacks like olives and hummus. My one complaint is that HEB will place their store brand (Hill Country Faire) right at eye level on the shelf. If you want any other name brand you have to dig down at floor level or climb up high on the shelf. read more

I purchased a bottled water that was on sale, labeled, on the shelf, as 75 cents, and another bottle labeled .98. When I went to check out and was charged $1.99 and 2.99. When I inquired, they did a price check and told me they were not on sale. I went back to the shelf and an HEB associate was there removing the lower priced sale ticket. If they made a mistake, they should honor the error, then make their corrections. I am very disappointed with the way they handled this. read more

We love HEB! The expansion has added a lot to make it even better. The prices are inline on most items with the bigger name down the street, they have a huge selection of organic items including organic deli items (that can't be bought cheaper anywhere else I've been), they carry Trader Joe's, and their store brand is one of the best generics out there. The expansion brought a huge selection of health foods, gourmet sweets and snacks, you can make your own peanut butter in the store, sushi on par with some sushi joints, and they have awesome fresh baked tortillas and breads. read more

H-E-B in Waxahachie is one of the best places to shop for variety and grapes specials their Bakery is the best out of all of the major stores in the area and at holiday times they always have great specials on all your holiday food needs! This HEB has expanded and improved. They have a sushi station! They have fresh squeezed drinks to choose from in the produce section. In the wine and beer aisle the resident sommelier will give you some pointers. She's usually there to help you out. We didn't know HEB employed one until we bumped into her one evening. She recommended a great moscato. HEB has great food options and the prices are cheaper than many stores in Dallas. They don't beat Winco but then again Winco doesn't have great meat or produce. If you buy in bulk going to HEB in Waxahachie is well worth the drive. read more

Where would I be without H-E-B? I can answer that after living out of state for several years and recently moving back: it's a sad, sad life without this one stop shop for everything delicious. This is by far my favorite grocery store!!! They definitely need to open up some locations in Dallas. If you're not familiar with HEB, they own Central Market. And I would say they're a cheaper version of Central Market. They have THE best produce, fish, cheese and meats. Everything is always so fresh and moderately priced. I tried to order 2 cans of disinfected spray and the people at the H-E-B refused my order because they said another "Taylor" (Which is my last name) came earlier and said we in the same family. I do not know this other individual so I do not appreciate the all the black people look alike and related comparisons. I live in Dallas and drove to Waxahachie just for this disinfectant spray. I am a lover of HEB in general, that is why this location is getting 2 stars instead of one. I went with my 2 small children, and needed help out bc the bags wouldn't fit in the cart with my infants car seat. They got another cart for the bags, but with a manager standing right there the staff watched me push my kids in one cart and the bags in another out of the store by myself. If another customer hadn't offered to help me at the front door I probably would have smashed into someone's car! I'd definitely give that manager a big read more

Decent size HEB. They recently expanded the store. I have found that they have the best produce in the area. The store is kept clean the times that I been in there. Also have found that their coffee is cheaper than say Walmart. I saw that they are carrying clothes there now; not sure what kind as I did not check out there selection. I would stay away from there on Sundays as it gets pretty busy. I guess that is when everyone in the area goes grocery shopoing. read more

This is by far the best grocery store in Ellis County. Several reasons I say this. First it's a big name in the grocery business in Texas. Next the employees are very well trained and know pretty much where everything is or will help you find it. They are also very friendly. They also have a top notched deli, bakery, meat market and produce. Sometimes but rarely the produce is a miss but they will make things right for you without so much as a whimper. The HEB brand is in most cases as good or better that the name brand. One example is their variety of chips. All of them are just as good as FL and they are much cheaper. Their prices are very competitive as they have the big WM just two blocks away. Now you're asking yourself if it's the best then why didn't it get a 5 Star rating from me. The main reason is that if there is an item they don't carry and you ask them about it they say they will see if they can get it. However after 4 different times asking about common items that WM did carry they still don't have it stocked. I gave up on asking about products they don't have and I'm not necessarily blaming the store management as I think it's more a corporate office issue. But it's not enough to stop shopping there. Unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow 1/2 stars otherwise I would have made it 4 1/2 stars. read more

I just moved to Waxahachie, Texas and H-E-B has been my go to grocery store. I am always satisfied with the quality of the produce and meat selection. The staff is always friendly and helpful as well. In my most recent visit I bought 4lbs of shrimp from the seafood department. The employee who helped me was very friendly. Unfortunately the shrimp went bad and I had to throw out the 4lbs that I had purchased. I don't know what caused it to go bad. I had thrown out my receipt so I thought it was a lost cause. A few days later I went in for a few groceries and I decided to talk to the manager about my situation since it had only been a few days since the purchase. The manager was friendly and she seemed genuinely concerned for me. She offered to replace the 4lbs of shrimp with no hesitation. We both walked over to the seafood department where a friendly employee informed me of different options to prevent any seafood from going bad in this hectic heat. Fresh fruit , not really all that fresh, especially when there is mold on oranges, who wants to buy berries that are overpriced, then they lose their appeal and spoil. Bakery dept. needs help too. The pies crusts are too thick, thus selling a lot of dough and not much filling, oldest trick in the book, charge more and give you less.
