I'm happy to say that this issue has since been addressed. Brookshire's now allows customers to order and pay for crawfish ahead of time and come back to pick it up, which I really appreciate. My only suggestion now would be to consider lowering the minimum pickup order to 3 or 4 pounds. It's just my husband and me, so the current minimum is more than we can eat. I truly appreciate the customer service at Brookshire's. I was especially happy this time when the gentleman in the meat department took care of me and didn't turn me away. That meant a lot! This is one of my favorite grocery stores. The employees are friendly. They are helpful and they seem to enjoy their place of employment. The store is small but it has what you need. I come her often just for the watermelon. It is the sweetest I can find in the DFW, that isn't off of a truck or at a Farmer's Market. I was waited on by Darrell. Every time I come in he is such a sweetheart. Along with Ethan bagging my groceries. The store would have received a five but I can never find honey roasted cashews. Like never. read more

This location is always neat, clean, and stocked with the things I need. When no one else had Lysol at the height of the pandemic they were stocked and I was able to get what's I needed for my school and home. I spray students desk to ensure they are sanitized. This store consistently is restocking and has employees walk to your car and place your purchase there for you. I love that they offer several times before you exit to take groceries to your car. This Brookshire's has been part of the fabric of my everyday life for the last 25 years. It's had one major remodel and face lift during that time and is still going strong, as far as I can tell. The doomsayers forecast its demise when the big box Walm*rt opened its doors directly across the street. Time passed and Brookshire's remains. There are many reasons why. Size is certainly one of them. "Going to the store" is enjoyable and not a marathon event. Departmental assistance is another. You will actually get someone to help you at Brookshire's fairly soon without sending up flares. The store is clean. Products are neat. Paper towels and bags are available. The restrooms are convenient and clean. You will find short lines at check out and cashiers and sackers at every line. Most of the time, a courteous individual will also offer to take your groceries out to your car for you. Very retro and very welcome. So then how are the prices and the products themselves? In many cases it is about a difference of pennies. Grocery stores ask that you read their ads to save money and shop their sales. If you do that and are able to buy ahead for the pantry, freezer and the rainy day; Brookshire's is as competitive plus you have the personalized service of the seafood and meat cases, deli and bakery, in house daily sushi chef service and pharmacy. I will be honest. I shop around - another couple of grocery stores and a warehouse; but I am content with the combination. I love Brookshire's. I Love this place.... Always great quality products with home town hospitality fast when your in a hurry. Closest grocery store to my location. This is the only grocery store I know of in Texas that carries barbecue bread. One of friends mom loves that stuff Have great meat specials weekly. Plus senior citizens discounts on Tuesday. Very Clean, and well organized. Our family loves the sushi! In addition to the regular groceries, there's a variety of gluten free, non dairy, and organic foods. Employees are always very nice. From the generosity of the parking lot attendant, to the efficiency of the cashiers; this last visit has me convinced to convert from Wal-Mart to Brookshire's or H E B. Nice promotions every now and again, clean environment, approachable staff and most things are easy to find. Only thing is you need to sign up for the store membership card in order to guarantee the best Brookshire's experience. It is completely optional, but it makes every visit even better. It is an alternative to Walmart but very expensive except for sale items. The store is clean and usually well stocked except for sale items. Sales start on Wednesday and by that morning meat items on sale are not there. Lately after complaining to corporate it has got better. As the main shopper in the family sometimes I find prices are dollars higher than other stores. I call it an over grown 7-11. I would do most of my shopping there if the prices were more competitive. Fifty cents here a dollar there higher just ads up too quick. read more

Brookshires is the stingiest food chain in Texas! They pay barely over $11. an hour - please! Then they have some of the highest prices for groceries! Lately, the entire store smells like fish. During my last visit, I was in a rush and therefore checked myself out. The employee (young girl) stood less than 3 feet to my side watching me check out. I wish that I had 5 minutes to spare to request to speak to her manager. I will NOT spend my funds in your smelly store and treated like a possible thief. I have a 6 figure salary and a 7 figure business in Missouri. I am African American, new to the area and this was a very disappointing experience. This is an excellent opportunity for coaching as well as a perfect opportunity to keep at least two lanes open to avoid customers checking themselves out and being harassed while doing it. read more

Of all the curbside stores I have used the past year, Brookshire's has been my favorite. I love that they text you while working on the order so you can add things and select your own substitutions. I've been shopping here for 12+ years and have never had a bad experience. Even during these times of COVID, political craziness, etc this place has stood the test of time... Initially I never expected to walk into a grocery store that serves hot, fresh, delicious and homemade food!!! But this Brookshire's does exactly that... You first notice this as you walk through the front doors... A bad day easily floats away when you smell the tasty offerings within this grocery store cafeteria. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fried okra, steak fries- Even the chinese food is authentic and full of flavor! This store is right across the street from Walmart and offers everything that they do not (great customer service, good prices, shelves full of stock items, fresh bakery goods, very nice floral department, a full service pharmacy etc etc etc, no need to go elsewhere! Love this Brookshires! No matter the day or time, it's never overly crowded. The produce always look nice. The meat deals are phenomenal (they even have a $20 various meat pack with some form of beef, chicken and pork to save for those grilling days) Always check the circular since they always have sales where you buy one, get one. Or buying a big family item and getting a few complimenting things for free. The staff is friendly and always ask if you need help with finding something. My only complaint, the hot station where you can get Chinese food or hot plates. The food sits out literally all day. They just stir the food to make it not look so bad. I have asked a few staff to drop me fresh tenders or burrito if I do partake. With the deals and zero lines, I find myself in here every other week. read more

Staff is friendly, great customer service, fresh produce, but it's getting very ghetto just like the Walmart.

So this is my stop for 90% of my grocery's. One of the only grocery stores to still offer carry out service to most people with a cart. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. Produce has always been fresh and last over a week. Meat department is still the old school style where if you want a 3 inch steak cut they can do it. Pharmacy is one of my favorites as they remember you. They make me feel like they care, and that is what matters most. Unlike Walgreens or cvs where you are just a number. Well, this grocery was my favorite for several years in Red Oak, but the produce has gone way way downhill. Walmart is fresher. Just this morning, I bought a so called "local" tomatato at this Brookshires and then noticed the label at home said that the tomato was grown in Canada! read more

High prices for low quality. They continually replace food items for cheaper versions but keep the prices the same. They are really bad about this in the deli and even once replaced Blue Bell icecream with their house brand, but that did not last long. The HEB in Waxahachie is worth the drive. read more

Hey Y'all! We moved to Red Oak in November of last year. Prior to this move I didn't consistently shop at Brookshire's, since there was no store near us. Today, it was 36 degrees and windy. Yikes! So, I planned a pajama day, but we were low on provisions needed to extend it throughout the weekend. However, going out in pjs is a no-no that also includes house shoes (pay attention). I was working online, when I decided to browsed the Brookshire's website and found curbside ordering. Hallelujah!!! With just a few clicks (but I also called and confirmed/just my personality/thanks Julian) and a few hours for my expert personal shopper, Cody, to gather everything, I was driving home with all my goodies for a long winter weekend inside. Thank you. Thank you to all the folks at Brookshire's, especially the management team. Kudos to you for gathering together a fine group of young people.
