HOT FOOD BAR NEEDS WORK!
I stop by this location to grab some fresh veggies and true to expectations, they have exactly what I need, fresh green beans, cucumbers, lettuce all at a great price.
*** Next we head over to the hot food area and I can honestly say that I was appalled at what I saw! It is approximately 5:30pm and apparently someone thought that it would be a great idea to leave the crusty LUNCH servers, (two practically empty and one with the dried mashed potatoes still present), in the window A) because someone is just unconcerned and doesn't "get it" B) As a deterrent to keep people from ordering the hot food, C) Because this area is understaffed, (the young male in this section looked overwhelmed and a bit like a deer in headlights). Pick one.
THERE IS REALLY NO EXCUSE FOR THIS TYPE OF OVERSIGHT BECAUSE THIS WAS REALLY DISGUSTING TO SEE!! Once lunch service is completed, or as soon as dishes are past their prime, the servers should be removed from the window as a matter of common sense and routine. How difficult is that to understand? Geez!
Now, while I would never order sides from here, (or anyplace for that matter), we do enjoy their fried and baked chicken and the evening chicken usually comes out about 4:30. It looked fresh but I always ask when it was last prepared to be sure. My husband loves the chicken breast and I love the wings. At this time of day, they were out of the wings but we purchased the last two chicken breasts and they were hot, fresh, juicy well seasoned and just delicious.
They definitely need to be more conscientious when it comes to maintaining a "fresh look" at the hot food bar. However, the store was well staffed and we were able to check out in a timely manner. read more
