This is a MONSTER of a location. Not a bad thing, but definitely a large store with a lot more options than other locations. For that reason, I typically place my order online and pick up. If you use the app there are typically some discounts too. I was able to save $20 off pick up the week of Thanksgiving. I've used the pick up feature a few times at this location and it's usually spot on. This last time, they were running an hour behind schedule. They did call and let me know, so grateful for that. My dad gave me some last minute adds so I did go inside. With this store being so big, it is often times still full of people. My one complaint about this location is that the day I went Customer Service was closed for over 2 hours in the middle of the day. There was a sign posted that said it would be closed for an hour but when I arrived back it was an hour past the time it was supposed to be closed. There was a gentleman at customer service and he was a little rude in answer questions about time of reopening. I assume he was frustrated, but as were the many folks waiting in line well past the posted time. read more

I was at the Uscan and I paid for all my items meanwhile the security guard was standing right next to me the machine I was using saw me ring up every item, pay with cash and then receive change back along with my receipt! He still asked to see my receipt, all my items are in my bag so how can you even verify what's on my receipt if you can not see in to my bags?? I even called and spoke with a manager, Tommy, he was honest, they just don't have enough people I waited in line 2 minutes longer than I spent shopping, and I shopped quite awhile. I wish I may, I wish I might Catch oatmeal on sale tonight! It's technically not night time, and my oatmeal wasn't on sale (crossing my fingers for the next visit) but there are other things! I went to this location for their Starbucks and strolled to the oatmeal section as an afterthought. This Kroger location is clean, well-stocked, and has plenty of items on sale regularly. I especially like that for some sales if you get multiples of a specific number, you get even more off per item. That's how I've gotten boxes of $3.79 oatmeal for $1.79 each in the past! I'll keep checking in for that oatmeal sale, but until then- there's always Starbucks. read more

I came in here looking for a gift for my best good friend Jessica, who is a psychic medium. I wanted to get her a ghost or spirit of her own. Not a poltergeist or banshee, but something friendly - like Casper. They don't sell ghosts and looked at me like I was an idiot when I asked. They do sell a small variety of wines, liquor, and beer. They even have a small variety - and I do mean small - variety of local products (beyond the obvious bourbons. This store is located right next to the new Kroger here on Dixie Highway and will meet most of your liver-killing needs. This is my friendly neighborhood Kroger. It feels like a chore going to this grocery store. It's most convenient for me to stop in on my way home from work, but it's the same for everyone else, so I always tend to go during peek hours. There is plenty of parking at this location, but getting in and out of the parking lot can prove to be a bit of a challenge. Early mornings and late night shopping doesn't quite have the same challenges. The store is nice and large, so it rarely feels over crowded. At times, the produce area is slim pickings. And can be frustrating when your looking for something specific and common, but there is absolutely none, like my quest for Kale about a week ago. The store has a nice gourmet cheese section. It has a deli, fresh sushi bar, starbucks, bakery, fresh seafood counter, and butcher section. This location is unique because It sales clothes also. And surprisingly, I have found some cute and comfy options there. I feel like Krogers is a very expensive grocery store. Definitely need to take advantage of the digital coupons and sales to not feel the pain in your wallet as much at check out. Going in without a plan can leave a big hole in your wallet. The employees have always been very friendly, and it's like you get to know them, since you see them every time you go to the store. read more

This store is super impressive! The selection they have is so beyond what you would normally expect from a Kroger or any grocery store for that fact. This is a wonderful addition to the south end area. I usually would have to drive to the east end to find even half of the items they are carrying at the new marketplace Kroger. Expect to stay at least an hour or longer on your first visit, there is so much to see and to cover the entire store will take some time. They have a sushi bar and a small area to eat at store. Was so pleased to see Boar's Head deli meat. There are so many options. They have a cheese bar with so many different varieties of cheese. They have a under $5 bucket, this allows you to taste test new varieties before you buy a large piece. Prices of cheese were very reasonable. They also have an olive bar, with lots of options of olives and other items. Super excited to try all the different olives! They have a bread bar with an option to taste test before you buy. The selection and taste was impressive for a Kroger store. They also have a bread slicer, which is a great option, and super easy to use. Produce and meat counter have fresh and multiple options. This store also sells clothing, shoes, toys, and baby items. The prices were reasonable as well, this was surprising. Overall this store is a great solution for any consumer especially those south end residents. They could have added a few more cashiers to help reduce the wait at checkout. Self checkout had little to no wait.its hard to not fill your cart here, so self check out was not an option for me today. This place is huge.... I can come here on my lunch break to get a meal, drop off movies at the Redbox, grocery shop, and they even have clothes. Kroger sells clothing and shoes now. I'm not sure if I'd come in for clothing but the new variety of hot meals and salad bar to choose from are a definitely must try. From chicken to sandwiches and panini's to soups and burrito bowls. Maybe on a day that I have time that explore a little more I will see what more they offer. My only complaint is the parking lot is very busy and with the other businesses within the same area other drivers do not seem very courteous. read more

i came all the way out to this kroger at 6 AM, because their business online says 6 AM - 10 PM, but they were closed when I got here, and they do not have anything that lists their specified hours. Under any other circumstances, this would not be an issue, but I needed to do my shopping earlier in the day due to my schedule for today. Now that some of the excitement has worn off I have to say that I really enjoy going to this Kroger. First, the people are really friendly. Friendly from the deli, to the meat department, to the check out. Even most of the teenagers are friendly. I know-crazy, right? Teenagers that greet and engage in conversations actually exist! Kroger must be doing a great job setting expectations and training for that to be the norm because unfortunately it isn't the norm at a lot of Dixie businesses. Second, product selection is great. No need to go to Whole Foods for organic or ethnic options. They have everything that you could want including specialty cheeses and an olive bar. Third, if you need a last minute gift you could come up with something! The floral and bouquet selection is great too. I still try to avoid peak times so I won't get frustrated with long lines or the crowd but overall impressed. Way to go Kroger! read more

The closest Kroger to me is the Highlands Kroger, which is one of the best, in my opinion, due to their organic produce and selection, but I came to this location because it is close to my work and had to grab a few things for dinner. This will be short and sweet but, do not go to this Kroger if you have anxiety. I had to leave because it was like a Walmart and not the usual small Kroger locations. What bothered me is that instead of having their natural foods section in one aisle, this location has the natural foods scattered throughout with the rest of the food items, which was debilitating because I had only gone in to grab 4 items, and it took me 30-40 mins to find them!! Granted, I only purchase organic food and produce but, I was so annoyed and my anxiety was going through the roof, I just had to leave. I am not going to lie, I have been waiting for this giant Kroger to open. I spent 2 hours in here, getting lost and looking at everything there is to offer (okay a good 15 minutes was spent looking for a card - ugh). The parking lot was packed, but I found a spot pretty quickly. Anyways this Kroger offers a lot! They have a sushi bar, an Asian bowel station, sandwiches, and the regular deli fair, artisanal bread, Murray's Cheese Shop, salad bar, and Starbucks all within the deli section. My mind was blown when I saw the clothing and shoe section! The brands I noticed were BearPaw, Soda, New Balance, Fila, Levis. The make-up section is huge and don't forget they have a bed/bath section and automotive. Of course the clothing selection, bed/bath, and automotive is limited, but if it is a basic item you can probably find it here. I don't see myself always going to this Kroger, because sometimes I just need a few things and do not want to be overwhelemed, but when I need a lot of items, this is going to be my go-to place. read more

Awesome organic foods section! This is my second favorite Kroger in Louisville (highlands Kroger is my first). They have a couple aisles dedicated to organic food and I love it. Sometimes if you check in the sale bins, they have the organic a marked down super cheap. They have an extensive selection of frozen yogurt and ice cream, frozen foods, and toiletries. Everything is always tidy and the staff is pretty friendly. The only downside is that they run out of fresh fruit a lot and when they have it, a lot of it is constantly hovered over by gnats and fruit flies. Over all a great store though, despite being located off Dixie. read more

I began shopping at this store and ended up with a full cart of groceries. After scanning all items at a self checkout lane, I found that I left my wallet at home. I asked the attendant (Debbie) if I could leave my cart with her until I returned with my wallet. She was very accommodating and had a pleasant personality. When I returned with my wallet, I found Debbie had gone the "extra mile" by saving my shopping session. This meant I did not have to re scan everything in my cart. All I had to do was pay for my groceries. That meant a lot to me because I have chronic back pain and I was hurting at the time. read more

Dont do an online order for pick up from this kroger. My wife put in and online pick up order, was told it was delayed, arrived when the delayed pick up time was, waited in the parking spot for 35 min past that time. Not only did she have to wait inconceivably long, over half the order didnt come out as they claimed they were out of many items. She went inside and found all but 2 items she ordered on the shelves. This showed the person tasked with pulling our order lied and did not feel like doing the job they were paid to do. When she spoke with the manager, she was basically told tough shit. After retrieving the items herself she then showed the manager just how much was in fact, in stock. The manager seemed to not care and unbothered at his employees laziness. This was obviously a case of "i dont want to do what im trusted and paid to do". It is sad that not only the person who's job it was blatantly lied, but that the manager felt it ok to allow it. read more

Kroger in valley station is horrible there was a girl at the service desk I went up there to use my coupon because I forgot to use it on my previous order and she was really rude her name was Amanda she treated me like I was not important ! And she went in the back room then came out and talked to another employee about me in front of my face I didn't want anything but my $1 back from my item I bought that I forgot to use a coupon on . I ran across one last February getting a birthday cake for my son, and it happened this year, I was trying to give this Kroger's another chance to impress me.. This time I just left, I'm not going to spend my money with people who don't appreciate it. This is a nice Kroger. Good selection of produce, cheese, deli, and bakery. It's always clean and even has a Starbucks. The 2 stars is because the service is HORRIBLE. I shopped here last night and bagged my own groceries for the 4th trip in a row and I'm not talking about helping bag....I mean from start to finish without even the cashier assistance. Tonight (6/13/21) I went into Kroger and I needed to use the restroom. I went to turn into the hallway and there's an employee who was pushing the cleaning cart into the bathroom. I didn't even get a chance to say anything before she said " sorry honey you can't come in. My boss told me I have to clean this." I asked her if I could use it really quickly. I let her know I am 5 months pregnant. It's really hard for pregnant woman to hold their urine. She said "nope you can't". I turned around and knew there was another bathroom on the opposite side of the store. It was out of order. I went all the way back to the entrance and found an employee. I was in tears trying to tell her what had happened. I had to go so badly I thought I wasn't going to be able to hold it. I'm really disappointed and will go to another Kroger next time. I hope that someone who works there can see this, so that if another woman comes along who is pregnant, they can be allowed to use a restroom. read more

I cannot imagine how this Kroger has 4 stars. These can't be real reviews. Unfortunately this is the closest grocery store to my house. It is, by far, one of the worst Krogers that I have ever been to. I hate coming here for many reasons.... too many to name. What prompted my review today is the carts. If you want to have locking carts, fine. They should at least make it all the way to the edge of the parking lot though! That is where I parked today. I pulled a muscle trying to drag my immobile cart the last 10 feet to my car. I really hope Kroger management reads this because you need to know how awful this Kroger is! read more

What I thought was a good salad at the salad bar. We ate inside the store by the cafe. The lady at the cash register by the cafe was a little rude and kind of weird. After I ate I looked down on the counter and I watch some of the activity at the Delicatessen. I watched one of the ladies sneeze into her arm and continue to serve customers without watching her hands or changing gloves. I watched several other employees consistently serve customers with gloves on touching the counter and the cash register and then going back to the food service area without changing gloves or washing hands. I did bring this activity to the attention of the manager on duty. I've been sick now for 3 days with a GI bug. So I'm never eating salad again and I'm never eating salad from the salad bar again. Additionally I will not be purchasing anything from the Delicatessen. I have really high hopes for this store because neighborhood really needs it. However it's crowded is overly priced and you can't find anything. read more
